  1. I cannot seem to find an option for binding a hotkey to turn the hmcs power on and off. Is there one that I am missing?
  2. so i've got a working A10 profile along with a keyboard.diff.lua file for the hotkeys needed. It consists of 7 profiles that link to each other but I am a little short on icons for the buttons. Anybody know where I can get some good ones? I've searched on the net but not exhaustively.
  3. Thank you jonny415 and all the others for this effort. But I cannot seem to find a profile for the A10C. Has one ever been made? Or should I roll my own?
  4. In this video wags sets the 'auto loft' to 30 but releases the jam while in level flight. So what's the point of selecting 15,30 or 45?
  5. it is on steam.just search for ah-64
  6. I am new to this thread. I downloaded Proper Neck for DCS World 1.2.6 - 1.2b In it are: All planes-modules-test 1.2.6.miz Instructions.URL (which gives a 404 error) Server.lua SnapViews.lua There is no 'View folder' as in your instructions above. I just wanted to be sure i understood so I am reading this whole thread, but you may have updated things. The location 'Example: H:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\View' has the default Server.lua and View.lua files. I guess these do not need to be modified any more?
  7. SOLVED: Just binding the PTT button in voice attack is insufficient. I also have to bind an active TX node to a button. So I bound TX4 (AUTO) to a button and now I can switch tabs - some of them anyway. JTAC, and notes. Even though it recognizes 'ATC' it wont go to the tab ATC. Same with Ref and AAR. JTAC however can be brought up by spelling it with the 4 letters. most of that BS above was unnecessary. Just needed to disable VR and nahimic. Even used my old export.lua file.
  8. deleted export .lua file in Saved Games-> scripts dir. No improvement.
  9. okay...made some progress SteamVR was coming up in the background (since I sometimes use VR and had the VR checkbox checked in DCS) Disabled the checkbox. Disabled the Nahimic service. Restarted VA Restarted DCS Now the kneeboard command works to bring it up However, when ever I say 'page AWACS' I get 'Extended command set is currently disabled in preferences' and the kneeboard goes away. In fact, I can get the kneeboard just by saying 'page' I clicked the VAICOM prefs checkbox to enable the extended command set. Restarted VAICOM. Restarted DCS. Now the command 'kneeboard' does nothing even though VA is recognizing it in it swindow. Even with everything running, I can go to VAICOM prefs, disable the 'extended command set' , pop back into DCS, now 'kneeboard' brings up the kneeboard but I cannot navigate to other pages. In fact 'page', 'AWACS', etc all bring up the kneeboard. But only the log pag is showing.
  10. kneeboard not coming up in DCS Latest DCS open beta 2.7.6.13133 Latest VA. Licensed kneeboard clicked 'finish' on the vaicom option editor tab pasted the updated command set as instructed in video When I say 'kneeboard' VA recognizes the word. It also shows (awaiting additional input) shortly after in the VA window. But the kneeboard does not come up. Using the hotkeys brings up the kneeboard from VAICOM (the one with the tabs) I did a DCS repair (slow) Now, Using hotkeys I have bound to bring up the kneeboard brings up the standard one without the tabs. Other commands I have created (like 'masterarm' which sets master arm to on) work even after the DCS repair. Even confirmatory text to speech replies (like 'yessir') work How to troubleshoot this?
  11. delete me
  12. Since I got a VR headset, I found 'confine cursor to game' to be a help in preventing 'window out of focus' problems. However, I need to do some training on a new module so i have to watch some videos while DCS is running. I do not use VR for this. So now in DCS I have to alt-tab to get to my browser on the other monitor. No amount of clicking and unclicking the 'confine cursor to game' in the VR tab of the settings dialog can change this confining behavior. Can someone give me a solution?
  13. question about the Audio tab in voice attack options I am on the latest version 1.8.9 64 bit Audio Output type allows 'integrated components' to be selected. I assume this is all the usb output devices, sound cards etc. When set to integrated devices, then the two dropdowns take effect: Override default playback device Override Default text-to-Speech Device But further down in the same window are 4 checkboxes - the first one titled 'Set Windows Default Multimedia....' (see attached pic) If I have the audio output type set to 'Integrated components' and the 'Overide...' dropdowns set to a specific device, What is the purpose of these 4 checkboxes? Dont the first two dropdowns do the same thing? Also, since VA is a text-to-speech app, How are these choices different: Override default playback device Override Default text-to-Speech Device If they are set to different devices, do the beeps go to the device set by the first dropdown and the spoken words to the second? Since I use VA for various purposes, is there a way to have it switch to my VR headset automatically when it is active and then back to my regular headset when it is not?
  14. Somewhere I read that if you set motion reprojection to always on instead of automatic ,that incurs a performance hit. I also read that installing openEXR and setting the switch in ‘developer tools’ tab to ‘use beta’ helps significantly
  15. ok i fixed it. Put these two files in your folder DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\A-10C_2\Input\A-10C_2\joystick Total Controls MFBB.luaTotal Controls MFBB.diff.lua Now you have many more choices. If you want to bind something not on this list then go find it in another lua file (for example Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System.lua) find the control you want copy the entire lline paste it into Total Controls MFBB.lua
  16. actually, i spoke too soon. I enabled the dial mappings but somehow prevented any button mappings.

  18. put the file attached to this post into the folder D:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\A-10C_2\Input\A-10C_2\joystick (Your DCS root folder might be on another drive like C:) Although the MFBB only has dials, you can assign them to the axes you desire in the settings->adjust controls->axis drop down Total Controls MFBB.lua
  19. OK, did this but under Axis in 'Adjust Controls' none of these exist. Checked the 'clickabledata.lua' and for example I find elements["PTR-LGHTCP-FLIGHT-INST"] = default_axis(_("Flight Instruments Lights"), devices.LIGHT_SYSTEM, device_commands.Button_2, 292, nil, nil, nil, nil, nil, {70, -135},{180,-45}) in devices.lua I find devices["LIGHT_SYSTEM"] = counter()--49 so in default.lua I put {action = 3002, cockpit_device_id = 49, name = _('Flight Inst Lights'), category = _('Extra - Lighting')}, Currently running the latest DCS beta and none of the codes have changed so I dont know why it doesnt show up. SOLVED:
  20. After reading this thread, I am a bit confused as to how to install this mod and whether it even works with the latest DCS open beta. The downloaded mod from virpil (whose folder is just named 'main') causes a DX11 renderer error and DCS crashes.
  21. Since we both use a G2, and VR sets resolution based on the headset, why do have different pixel counts at 100%?
  22. @speed-of-heat ok..my PD is set to 1.o My general resolution in the game is set to 2560x1440 Or are u talking about a 'different' general resolution? My per application SteamVR video settings for 'WindowsMixedReality for SteamVR is default (3856x3780) 100% My per application SteamVR video settings for 'DCS' is 3180x3116 when set to 68%. At 100% it is 3856x3780 How do you get your general resolution to 100% and 3168 x 3096? I must be missing a setting somewhere. I went through your whole guide again, even creating the registry key DCS.exe with the subkey PerfOptions with the DWORD entries as you described. Are you enabling the bottom drop down of 'Override World Scale'? edit: Well, I went to SteamVR settings-> Video and set Render Resolution to custom and then set it 50% (2228x2180) since the G2 only has 2160 pixels. That puts me at 70 fps with a frametime around 11ms (fpsVR stays in the orange)
  23. Thank you. I did that as well as adding Kegety's mod. Running 10700k @5ghz, 32 gig ram and 3090. These are my settings I am getting 15ms frame time GPU and fpsVR is orange. My DCS graphics settings are set to 2560x1440 . As you can see my pixel density is 0.8 and custom resolution multiplier is 68%. Isnt my fps frame time too high? BTW I discovered that the G2 has to plugged in to the second display port. If it is in the third position with two monitors connected, I continually get 'window out of focus errors'
  24. This is something new for me. Up to now, I thought I understood about PD in DCS as well as the SteamVR settings->graphics->per app settings slider. But this control panel has me confused. This is my default. So what should I set this to?
