  1. I tried the HDK2 back at E3, played a sit down game, with no movement, was a really crappy clone of Rocket League. I got sick after playing for 10 minutes, again, with no movement. I couldn't put my finger on why, but the SDE was huge, and having just used the Oculus the difference in clarity was obvious (Oculus being way better)
  2. @Ciribob You should integrate SR like Tacview did, I started working on doing the same for Twitch2DCS (see here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3037789#post3037789) If you have questions I can explain how its done, it's rather simple.
  3. Awesome, glad to hear it! On another note, in my down time I've figured out a few more really cool ways to make plugins for DCS. Some screenshots here of hopefully the next version of Twitch2DCS
  4. I really really like this, and I really want to get this but I have a concern before purchasing. I have a 12cm extension and at a comfortable position for me its 38.1cm from the top of my desk to the base of the warthog. The center of the warthog needs to be ~20.32cm away from the desk so that the stick does not hit it when pushing forward. Given this, do you make an option longer than your listed 22 cm vertical range? And what is the distance of the center point to the mount?
  5. Ive noticed that black looks really good in DCS, but land in general looks to bright, you can literally make out everything where as in real life, you wouldnt be able to see anything except lights.
  6. It will work with 2.0 when DCS puts the changes from 1.5 that broke it, into 2.0. The reason it doesnt work for 2.0 is because 2.0 is currently behind in changes that were made to 1.5 that need to be merged. Give it time, hopefully soon they can fix that. I want to work to but dont want to spend time writing code to get it working on both when im guessing they will update 2.0 soon.
  7. It does work in MP i use it all the time, its a completely separate window from MP chat. It works everywhere from the main menu to ingame, even the mission editor. I looked at Discord and it has a simular issue to youtube where it only has a webapi to hook into. This requires a bit of work so that the request to the API does not cause a framerate decrease. I've yet to look into this because of time or a personal need, but it is on my to do list.
  8. Here is an example of what SS + MSAA can do for contrast. This is obviously an example not a real image, I suppose I could do that as well, but maybe this will help get the point across You can see in the image above the object that would be least visible at a distance (pixels are purposely large in the image) is the last one which would be the equivalent of SS 2.0 MSAA 8x
  9. MSAA is going to wash out targets, especially on small pixel targets, you will get a blurred contrast, equaling less contrast :)
  10. For DCS its crap, anything fast moving, its crap. You can already turn it off system wide with Left Ctrl + NumPad1 for off, and Left Ctrl + NumPad4 for on. This is not a DCS macro, its system wide.
  11. You arent doing your system on favors with a pixel density of 2.5 You dont need this, anything over 2.0 is pretty much not worth the performance hit. Infact, your eye has a hard time disinguishing 1.8+ I would recommend not going over 2.5, in reality, this just isnt at all worth the performance hit. Look at it this way, you are rendering your scene at well over 4k resolution 5400x3000 at 2.5, and you only see 2160 x 1200
  12. Here is what i commonly use, and my SS on the VR tab ranges from 1.5 to 2.0 depending on what im playing, less for WW2 stuff due to visual spotting, closer to 2.0 on anything BVR (ignore the resolution, i turned VR mode off to take the screenshot)
  13. I have a CV1 and have noticed that in Elite Dangerous (using SteamVR) I get the Screen Blanking you are talking about. What this is, is the tracking getting lost for a split second on the CV1 either from to much CPU usage and not enough for the VR engine, or some sort of weird tracking disconnect. Basically I think you are seeing the VR engine thinking the game has died or frozen and trying to return you to the steam vr default view, but then the game response so it flashes back. I was literally playing Elite Dangerous last night while streaming and kept getting this behavior because ED and OBS were slamming my CPU.
  14. Gotcha, read out of context i guess, thanks for clarifying
  15. I dont understand why the server needs to turn off Player exports. Other players, sure, AI and other objects sure. But the player themselves, not much cheating you can do with this. You may want to contact the server owner (they usually have a thread for their server on the forums) and request to have this feature turned on. I'm pretty sure you can specify each export setting individually. I know this is a hassle, but given the time spent on your pit and the enjoyment DCS seems to give you with it, might be worth a shot.
  16. Why do you expect to? You cannot run this game on max settings without the rift with those specs and maintain a decent framerate right? Ill give you an example, turn everything on and go to Tiblisi and look at the city, HUGE performance drop in FPS. Now, you are probably running on a monitor that is doing 60FPS, and even so @ 30 FPS everything looks fine, but on the rift you need a minimum of 45, and even then 90fps is recommended. Add in the fact that you are rendering each frame the equivilant of 2x (1x per eye perspective) to produce the 3d effect and you can see why you cannot achieve this. It makes perfect sense that you cannot achieve this on the current engine, it wasnt written with the optimizations required for VR. The hope is that 2.5 includes a lot of VR optimizations and hopefully we will see this sometime this year.
  17. Weird i really dont have this issue, or at least not to the extent you are explaining. Maybe its a settings issue. Anyway, i had heard that they removed it to re-evaluate a new method they were working on, again this is just what i heard, i have no concrete evidence. We will see, just be patient.
  18. Give it time. VR is new they will fix it im sure but give them time they have a lot on their plate. Also, I have no problem, but thats because I dont go over 1.5 SS, the higher your SS the smaller the pixels at a distance, and they will get blurred out when down sampled. There are pros/cons/ to all of this new tech, gotta learn to adapt or and be patient.
  19. Version 0.0.7-alpha released https://github.com/jeffboulanger/twitch2dcs/releases Features and Fixes Push to show feature bind-able to a keyboard hotkey (defaults to numpad . (period) key, This value is configurable) UI will now hide if there is no chat activity for 10 seconds (default, This value is configurable) Removed ability to type to twitch for now, this was causing some random issues where the UI would not accept input under certain situations, causing the user to have restart DCS or disable Twitch2DCS Added the ability to hide join/part messages in the config file (This value is configurable)
  20. Definitely weird. After this occurs can you go to Saved Games/DCS/Logs and send me dcs.log and twitch2dcs.log files?
  21. You are spending needless performance on MSAA when you are using Super Sampling. Just saying, they effectively do the same thing, on SS gives you a better picture for VR
  22. Christmas release confirmed.
  23. Ya i feel like the A-10 head position is in a weird spot. However, the way i get around this to use things like my CDU or radio controls is I lean forward, recenter my view then lean back to normal seating position. Now my head is well back against the headrest in game and I can access just about everything without having to crank my neck. Hope this helps, I personally find snapviews pointless.
  24. The latest release should have fixed that.
  25. Twitch2DCS works in every aspect of the game. Single player, multiplayer, mission editor, all screens. Hope that helps answer you question
