  1. +1 With VR beeing more and more popular a page like in the first post auto generated in the kneeboard is essential. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
  2. I guess I will have to buy a Xbox controller just to find out if the Xbox button works as the Oculus button then. Another question, does the setting for resolution in the DCS options matter for the Rift S or is that setting only for flat screens? Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
  3. I just recived my Rift S and got it working. Does anyone know if the Xbox button on a Xbox controller works as the Oculus button so if I buy a Xbox controller I dont have to use the touch controllers? If it would I could mount one of those in my cockpit very easy in comparison to the bulky touch controllers. Even if the passthrough wont work for my paper kneeboard I still need the Oculus button to get out of dash and to use the passthrough for other reasons. Its unbelivable that Oculus cant add a keyboard input binding ability in the settings for the Oculus button. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk

  5. Its easy to change yourself, its a very small job. Its just that if the mod maker would change the values for both the B2 rcs and the KC10 speed the next time they update the mod (in case they update it again) one person would just have to do it once instead of everyone doing it every time its updated. So it would be very welcome. And I dont think pointing it out is criticism, just a helpful hint and wish how to make it much better by doing two very small adjustments. 6. Perhaps due to licensing issues or something Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
  7. hansangb said that the passthrough function might not be good enough to read notes, but I guess I still would like to just push a button and get it, as I understand there is a shortcut but that is pressing the oculus button twice and it cant be remapped to a joystick or keyboard. Do you use the passthrough+ function and if so do you know if the big x-button on a xbox controller acts the same as the oculus button? You said you did not use the touch controllers or xbox controller but I was thinking perhaps ju tried sometime and know anyway?
  8. I actually ordered a Rift S, I ordered it from a store where I can easily return it if it doesnt work for me. But Im wondering, the handcontrolls that come with it, there is no way I will be using those when I fly. Do you have to use them to start it up and so on or is it possible to do that and access settings and so on with the mouse? If they are needed, could they be replaced with a Xbox controller? In that case Im thinking of buying a cheap wired one of those and rebuild it like a buttonbox and mount it in the cockpit so I dont have to worry about batteries and dont have to have it laying around in there. 10. Thanks Does anyone know if you can use a Xbox controller in such a way that you dont need to use the Oculus hand controllers at all. I mean so the Oculus button works and everything? Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
  11. Hello! Im thinking of buying a VR headset, now Im using Track IR and a 24inch curved screen. The question is what headset I should buy, the price is not the main factor, instead this is the things that Im thinking about: 1. I want a good experience, no problems spotting targets and instruments then I now have on my 24 inch screen, that does not mean that I need the absolute sharpest if that compromises something else. 2. I want it to be reliable, if I want to fly one night I just want to put it on and go, not spend a half hour to set it up before. 3. I have gotten used to using kneeboards with paper instead of the DCS kneeboard that I think is just horrible to use. With oldschool papers on my lap I can just flip to the back of the pile fast where as in DCS you must go paper by paper. I also take notes during missions with a pencil and so on. So, the perfect thing would be if a passthrough camera could just be activated by pushing a button, preferably on a joystick and then push the button again to turn it off, pausing the game is not acceptable. If the passtrough cameras cant be used like this, I would like to at least be able to glance under the headset, if that is not possible I can tilt it up a little little bit with my hand if that is needed and that is not to big of a hassle. I know some models have flip up but I assume if you flip it up and down like 20 times during a flight you will wear the mechanism out because its not intended to be used like that. 4. Im also flying in a generic home cockpit I built, its basically like a closet that I can open up entirely where the doors are (its sliding doors). The seat is positioned perpendicular where the doors are so when Im sitting in it I have the open room on my left side, a pretty big space in front of me where the screen is now and on my left there is just a black wall. The distance on the right side between the seat and the black wall is about 10cm or 4 inches. The enire closet or what you like to call it is painted black inside. The inside being all black is really good when I use the screen now because it makes all colors on it become very rich and look beautiful because there is so much black around it. However, from what I understand this may be a problem for tracking with headsets that dont use external sensors. I like to have it dark around me when Im flying at night so if needed i can mount IR-LEDs to illuminate around me, I have read that the tracking cameras can see IR. However, will the dark wall to my right be a problem still? I mean, even if Im illuminating it, perhaps the camera on that side wont have any references to go on, will the camera on the left side that can see the rest of the room be enough to get the tracking for front and back motion to work with no issues? I could perhaps hang some kind of fabric strips from the roof in the closet a half inch from the wall to help the camera get visual reference but the distance to it will still be pretty short. 5. My computer has a i5-9600K CPU, 32GB RAM, SSD and a MSI GTX 1080 graphics card. (Note not 1080 Ti). I know that the system specs on the DCS site says that a 1080 like mine is enough for VR, but is it so in practical use? I mean, does it run smooth on a 1080 or just barely with frequent or sporadic stutters? Is it instead so that to run VR in DCS smooth you really need a 1080Ti or 2080 or whatever the newer ones are called? 6. As I have understood, a HP Reverb offers the clearest picture, but is it to much for my 1080 and CPU? (Im not overclocking anything by the way). Im not saying Im leaning most to a Reverb, but If I would get one of those and my 1080 could not handle the full resolution it offers, could I then decrease the resolution to that of other headsets and run it like that until I perhaps buy a GTX 2080 or something in the future? Or is it not possible to lower the resolution so if I buy a Reverb and my 1080 cant handle it there is nothing to do about it? Would appreciate any advice on this!
  12. Set a waypoint on the same place as the bullseye. Then in the cockpit pick that waypoint on the HSI and go to DATA submeny, there set it as A/A Waypoint on the left side. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
  13. I did not do anything actually apart from updating VAICOM PRO when prompted and doing what the updated manual said existing users needed to do in their Voice Attack Profile for VAICOM PRO, removing the start stop listning rows for TX press and release. But I said Chrystal Palace Briefing not Status, I dont remember what happened when I tried status. Anyway I dont hear any sound for any of the AOCS commands so it doesnt work for me either. All other commands work though. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
  14. I dont know what happened and what you should do to restore it. But I never use the Nvidia Control Panel, instead I use Nvidea Profile Inspector that you can Google and download. You can tweak more settings with that and perhaps you can use that to regain control of your situation. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
  15. In the simplest form ED would just have to include a template mission with each terrain. In the case of the Nevada map for example the template mission could have random flights going from and to the airbases plus static aircraft on the ramps and civilian aircraft flying from and to the civilian airbases. Same with the upcoming Marianas. Now everyone has to create such template for themselves. In the case of the Supercarrier there could be one for each terrain that includes a carrier battle group with escort ships, helos, tankers, e2s and so on prepared. And static aircraft on deck and deck crew.
  16. I have the same problem as @overalien and @utexgrad with the ACOS beeing mute. VoiceAttack says that is reading the briefing but I cant hear any sound.
  17. Just the throttle and stick would be fine. Actually I dont need to hide the stick as bad as the throttle but it doesnt hurt me that someone else can do it if they want to. I dont see why it would be a requirement to be able to hide everything that obscures something if it would be possible to hide the throttle. If 15 things are obscured and hiding the throttle would solve 10 I dont see the logic to why the last 5 also would need to be fixed for the wish to be valid. It would mean less keyboard combos to memorize and so on. But yes, hiding the throttle would be very welcome in all clickable aircraft, even the ones I dont have myself. 18. Of course I have tried, this has been a issue for me all my time in the Hornet. My problem in not when the throttle is in the idle position as in your screenshot by the way but when its more forward. And of course you have the right to voice your opinion. If you should use that right in all situations is another matter. I dont fly any WW II aircraft, I have the right to enter any WW II thread and say that I think all WW II development should cease because it doesnt benefit me. I dont do it though, of concern for others. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
  19. You use the default view settings, therefore you think everyone else should do so also. That is what Im talking about. Not adapt them to their setup, distance to monitor, preference and so on. You decide what is right. Period. You are talking about it being unrealistic to hide the throttles, and that everyone should lean forward and move around instead because you for some reason think that a keybind for hiding the throttles would be a very bad thing. You should in that case know that another thing that is unrealistic is how you can lean and move in the cockpit with TrackIR if you dont change the limits in the settings for it. I have changed this because I find it very unrealistic to be able to lean forward and down and basicly put my head at the level of the center MFD and then turn it back see the formation light knob when I have the throttle at about MIL. Or look at it under the throttle, using the TrackIR for putting my head at my left elbows height. In reality I could not move my body in that way even sitting in a chair in my livingroom, if I was sitting in a real aircraft under G-load with my harnessreel locked It would be even harder. This is a wish list thread, it would be interesting to know why it is important to you that it is not implemented as a feature. Why do you even bother to try and stop it? Are you afraid that it would delay implementation of Vulcan or dynamic campaign by a year or something? Everyone except you in this thread want it, would a keybind for it really make your DCS experience that much worse that you cant let the rest of us have it? Its a humble wish that is not a massive undertaking for ED to make a reality. I don't want to lean forward to reach stuff that I in reality would not need to reach for because I would not need to see it to use it. Because that is unrealistic to me. The wierdest thing about this is that you have not started a own tread trying to get ED to remove the ability to remove the control stick since that also is unrealistic. Why haven't you done that? That feature already exist so it is already spoiling your realism.
  20. But I have the same problem as Swiftwin9s so I guess that renders your argument invalid then? Or is your view settings the standard that the rest of us should follow? Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
  21. Imagine how sweet it would be if it could be mapped to a button on the keyboard or even better, a button on the mouse if you have enough of them so you could spare one. That way you would not even have to tap the keyboard before and after, you would just use the mouse all the time. Now I gave a Cougar MFD dedicated just to these buttons and knobs that I cant see because of the throttle. Skickat från min D5503 via Tapatalk
