  1. As a heavy fighter / dive bomber, the Pe-2 Peshka of course. We'll never see one unfortunately, but one can hope
  2. This bug has been present from the beginning, but as Zhukov said, it only affects the preflight control surface check and can thus be ignored. Looks daft though, so maybe we'll see a fix later, who knows.
  3. Well one reason may be that I'm running a custom-config sim with greatly reduced particle counts for smoke, explosions etc. IIRC I did mention this, but the post got deleted since it was (largely) OT. Regardless, that may well be why I'm not seeing anything, although as pointed out already, I've no way of knowing whether I'd suffer an F/S drop if I ran the sim uncapped. But I don't know. I don't seem to be of much help here one way or another, so maybe I'll just leave the thread and hope you'll find a solution to this. S!
  4. Excellent, thank you for this
  5. My DCS is capped at 60 F/S and it stays right there regardless of what kind of smoke I'm seeing at any given moment. It only drops when I'm flying over big cities, i.e. where there are lots of static objects in view simultaneously.
  6. No, I meant the visibility radius, which is way too short in comparison with the other stuff in there (buildings, bridges etc.). The trees "bubble" looks completely unnatural in its current state and ugly as hell too.
  7. Yeah. Would be just the thing for a bush warrior such as myself with proper and period-accurate hardware. Seconded.
  8. First, I'm a bottomfeeder so I very seldomly encounter any F-18s or any such with their rear ends smoking Greta Thunberg out of existence anyway. That said however, I don't see any F/S drops with either exhaust smokes from, say, L-39s, or ground units belching any kinds of smoke whether they're dead or alive. Which kind of was my original point, i.e. my particular brand of crappy old PC does not suffer from this problem at all. Sorry, no track, but I'll just repeat my observation of the PC platform being a crappy one to code anything for anyway. S!
  9. Sorry to be so bold, but this looks like industrial-grade crap still. Could you please make the trees blend in a bit better? Or is there anything I could do by configuring something better?
  10. PS. It may also be that there's something wrong with my config setup, since my Saved Games DCS subdirectory is a symlink to a physical directory residing on another drive altogether. I need to check this as well. EDIT: Doesn't seem so. And I tried "NZG" for the directory name as well, doesn't work either.
  11. Indeed. The sim doesn't seem to recognize the GER speech subdirectory anymore, and to communicate with your ground crew in American English instead of German as a WW2 Luftwaffe pilot is beyond stupid. It also compels one to question why ED didn't record a German speech set for the 3rd Reich to begin with. I mean, you absolutely NEED this for the immersion, or might as well fly Allied A/C only.
  12. The German WW2 Luftwaffe speech mod still doesn't work, apparently because DCS doesn't recognize the GER subdirectory anymore. Any ideas, ladies and gents?
  13. Still doesn't work. Getting American English instead of the mod's German when flying Luftwaffe, which frankly speaking is beyond stupid. But thanks for informing me anyway.
  14. No sound mods work in 2.5.6 anymore So the question is how can we make them work again? If one puts them into <username>/Sounds, nothing happens. Any ideas anyone?
  15. No sound mods work anymore in v2.5.6. ED changed the whole subsystem and no-one seems to know how to make them work again.
  16. Lower your gamma setting a tad and check again.
  17. Still much better than previously and thus a step forward regardless.
  18. You definitely will. The startup may seem convoluted at first, but is actually pretty straightforward and logical once you get the hang of it. I can start her eyes closed in 10 minutes doing a full checklist by heart and testing everything. Enjoy, because she's a real Big Old Millie!
  19. Shame corner? Bullcrap. That video doesn't prove anything one way or another about our Dora or Anton, especially as the latter is still unfinished. Try harder or move into the shame corner yourself.
  20. Well, this seems much improved with the latest patch. The AI even avoid trees now when going cross-country.
  21. Too bad that you've got nothing but anecdotes and opinions to air. I've yet to see you post any hard evidence to give credence to your complaining.
  22. PS. At zero wind as well, forgot to mention.
  23. Flew her yesterday. Takeoff ASL, +25ºC, TOW 21638lbs (slick w/ 100% fuel) and she lifted off at exactly 6º pitch. So nothing wrong that I can see at least.
  24. No you don't. Because if you did, you'd present data instead of opinions.
