I tried the missions for the Mig 15 in DCS 2.5 and they give very low framerates and planes collide on the runway. That's sad, I thought this was a brilliant concept and had flown them in 1.5 with great success

I support the game, it's actually a very expensive game. But not people who sell me broken stuff. And at the end of the day none of this makes sense. Stuff like giving the Mig-21 a set of individual sound files could take no longer than a day.

Looks very interesting! Albedo seems basically the reflectivity of the surface, like between coal and a mirror.

I have been using parts of this mod with great success in 1.5 and 2.0 But now with 2.5 the dials are messed up. Of course I dont ask you to fix this for me, I only want to enquire if somebody knows which files may be causing this, so that I can remove them from the mod?? It should be clear what goes wrong from the screenshot:

Do I understand that by decreasing albedocontrast, I could tune down the glare? Well the good thing is once the Mig-19 comes out, I can delete this module.

No one forces you to use a mod if you don't like it. But trying to ridicule the creator like that is making you look like some pretentious asshole.

Frankly, I don't expect any update at all. Looking at their facebook page there is nothing but a few screenshots of the plane we already have. It could be a red herring to the critics "we are working on something for the Mig 21 too", then delay for years and years and years and ultimately release some minor fix that takes no more than a few weeks of work. I personally seen so much discussion with nothing, not even a simple sound file fix delivered. (exchanging a few lines to give the Mig-21 its own set of sound files should take a programmer 1 hour max). The Mig 21 has been dead for years.

Great! I like your work very much! Maybe you can also look at my thread about the L-39 cockpit in DCS2.5. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=202730 I included some screenshots there and to me it appears much too bright and there is hardly any discernable texture detail. If you find a way to bring back the textured instrument panel and such things, you are my hero!!

Have you learned something? Don't discount other peoples problems just because you don't have them, it's annoying as hell.

It's not only you. I can see the artifacts, the moire patterns, shimmering 3d objects and trees e5c, even in videos of youtubers, wandering over the screen like molasses. People disagree with you because they don't see shit, have terrible monitors or (I suspect) just out of spite because they saw the issues years ago and simply resigned. In fact I spent entire days trying and launching DCS with different settings, DSR, different smooting, AA, AF in the game and in Nvidia panel to get rid of the shimmering, more time than I spent flying. I just can't stand an image that is flimmering and full of artifacts. I kid you not, but I even tried wearing sunglasses while flying :) I am currently at the point where I just give up.

I also tried higher DSR resolutions and it did not change a thing. ie where previously a slightly shaded, textured objects appear, there is now only white glare. And if someone now asks if I installed sweetfx or any bs like that, of course not. This is a fresh installation.

Yes, it is my native resolution, of course. Also, even it wasn't and the image appeared scaled then the distortion would only show in photos of my screen, not in screenshots.

What you mean, "at those settings". I believe the 2.1 was taken with 2xAA 8xAF. I have of course not stored metadata with every screenshot I took so the exact AA/AF settings are forgotten. Point being that up to the last version everything was crisp and now .. well you see yourself. I also never understand why everyone assumes that it's the fault of the user if things get worse after an update. It's ED who wrote the shaders not me.

Yeah. To have a laugh I installed 388.71 driver. Then deleted the shader cache and so on. it didn't change a thing :lol: I will now go and redownload the 90 Gigabyte installation as often as it needs until the problem dissapears, and if this does not help, reinstall Windows and all my software. Am I doing right?

LOL. I believe that was the driver I uninstalled to fix the problem. But I can try again. And may back again. And then back to yet another driver. It looks like I have to downgrade DCS again and run 2 version concurrently. Like always :)

When I had seen 2.5 and the problem came up I installed the latest driver from Nvidia (390.77) and it was still the same. So I don't think I can try willy nilly every possible driver version and the problem just goes away.

I have of course tried Full Screen on/off, and all possible settings.

I have done all the things and the usual tips. deleted options.lua (does nothing but delete your graphics settings LOL) Deleted the the two shader folders /metashaders and /fxo several times This must be something about the (correct) shaders and I just pray this is not how it is supposed to look like from now on.

I took another screenshot. Just look at the cockpit surface that appear blurry and without detail Below is a side by side comparison. Especially the switches on the left look grotesquely overfiltered like in a 2000s game. Looks like I need to downgrade to 2.1 again because no one else has this problem but me, or people just don't see the difference.

The second screenshot was a comparison shot from my previous installation where everything was perfect. It was with AA x2 AF x8 becuase that is usually enough.
