  1. .... but a NineLine post in this thread just might :)
  2. .. and if they had included your suggested single line, there would probably have been complaints that they needn't have bothered. I've also ordered the SC module and believe me, i would really love to see it activated in my account by now, but them adding a nothing update in the weekly newsletter is not going to make it arrive any quicker.
  3. That FAQ should save a lot of posts. I did say "should". :) Nice one
  4. In Precise mode, do we now press 'N', then 2 pairs of digits, then ENT then 4 more digits, ENT or 'N'. 3 pairs of digits, ENT, then the final pair of digits, ENT? The videos I've watched on JDAM/Waypoint coordinate entry all appear to use the latter, whereas my recent experience would indicate that the former is now how it works. or do i have a unit of measure setting set wrong somewhere?
  5. I don't have the tomcat but don't the pilot and RIO each have their own independent radios? What happens to that PTT screen when you switch seats?
  6. It is indeed Friday, as the release of the newsletter, shortly after my post, would prove. You do know that a day has 24 hours i take it and that ED normally releases its newsletters in the latter half of the day?
  7. They normally come out on a Friday, so i wouldn't lose hope just yet
  8. I've had that too and ended up with a loop of strong cord, around my wheelstand and one of the wheels of my chair. I was a bit surprised to find that none of the gaming chairs i looked at had wheel brakes, but i might have missed one.
  9. i've not needed to adjust any angles on my Crosswinds, but have you tried either making the pedals more upright or maybe just moving the pedals closer to you, to make them easier to press? Good luck with the search if you do need to get new springs.
  10. Did you check out the solution that @Hafer apparently got for what appears to be the same problem, on https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=198297&highlight=10%25&page=512 onwards, of the main thread?
  11. As you appear to have removed the DCS software from the list of culprits as well as probably VA/VP, it looks like something else might be getting in the way. If that is the case then maybe check your task manager, to see what else might be running. For a starter for 10 and this might sound like an odd one, but do you have the ASUS sound software running in the background? SONOS Studio i think it was called. If so, I had to prevent mine from loading a couple of years ago, as it was interfering, not with DCS, but with another game, EVE Valkyrie IIRC. It might be a long shot, but if you do have it running, maybe temporarily close that software and try DCS again. The only other thing that occurred to me, and this is probably even less likely, was whether you might have an unstable overclock?
  12. Can you give a little more detail about how your problem shows up? For example, is it DCS world that is not loading properly or VoiceAttack and what does the failure look like? Just one thought, if it is DCS that is misbehaving, a recent DCS update made changes to the access control and that appeared to upset a number of anti-virus programs. If you are running an AV program, it might be worth checking that hasn't quarantined any files.
  13. It's all good now thanks. It was the LShift+F7 combo i hadn't seen, to bring the setup menu up and once I'd found that and figured out where in DCS i needed to be to activate it, the rest was pretty straightforward. I already had MSAA turned off btw and I use openbeta, so had downloaded your latest version.
  14. You might have a bit of a wait, but it's your choice, of course. I'm using it alongside VAICOM Pro and the really useful JTAC Coordinates mod, by @_mu110_, which makes it far more straightforward to setup target waypoints and doesn't necessitate the totally immersion-breaking removal of the headset. I just say "text copy" and the 9-line on the screen is preserved until i tell it to either turn the "text off", in which case i can bring it back, with "text show", or "text delete", which gets rid of it altogether.
  15. I'm probably being a bit slow, but exactly where would I find the new setup process? Is it somewhere inside DCS or is there an executable I need to run outside of DCS? Prior to this release, i have been able to use the radio message copy/paste function and have managed to cycle through the various colour options, using the keyboard combinations. However, the sharpen function, again using the appropriate keyboard combination, does not appear to make any difference. I am possibly doing something wrong, but in case the preset settings for sharpen are all the same until they've been setup, getting into the setup menu would be good. The radio message copy/paste is excellent by the way. Edit: never mind, I found it thanks. It's amazing what you discover when you RTFM :)
  16. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242134 by @lefuneste01 has a great function that allows JTAC 9-lines to be left on screen, taking away the need to remove your VR headset to type/write them down.
  17. Looking at Chuck's guide for the F14, it would appear that there is a way, via the radial menus, to do what you are trying to do, but if this has been added since the last AIRIO release, it may be that it is a command that is yet to be added. However, even though it doesn't appear in the list of RIO commands, have you tried something like "Radio Tune Channel 4", when pressing the INT PTT?
  18. I don't have the F14 yet, but from the list of commands in the manual, it would appear that you can only ask Jester to tune to a specified frequency. there is a select command, that you can use such as Select Channel 5, but i think that might just tune your own radio rather than ask Jester to tune his. Might be worth a try though.
  19. Make sure that you are running VA as Administrator and that it is the export.lua file in the Scripts folder that you are deleting. I'm guessing that the latter is true, as I have never seen an export.lua file in the DCS root folder and it sounds like it is being recreated, when you restart VA/VP, as it should be. Edit: it is worth noting that the module name will not be displayed in the PTT window until you have actually started the mission. after it has loaded
  20. It's probably easiest if you use something like JSGME, as that makes it easier to reinstall mods after a DCS update has overwritten them. Just put the mod folder into the Mods folder in your DCS root folder and when you open JSGME, it should appear as an inactive mod. Move it to the right hand column to activate it and reload DCS. Once you have done that, you can check that it works by using LShift & F3, when there is a radio message on screen and you should see it remain there. LShift & f5 should toggle it on and off and LAlt & f5 should remove it altogether. Give me a shout if you need a hand with the VA profile that allows you to make those key combinations work via voice recognition and I'll probably just link my profile.
  21. If you're planning on using it to record grid coordinates, from JTAC for example, maybe check out the Radio Messages Copy/Paste function in the mod in this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242134 by @lefuneste01 I've added a daisy-chained and very simple profile of my own to allow me to say "text copy" (LShift f3) and any messages on the screen are effectively left there. I can also say "text off" to hide the saved text and "text on" to display it again (LShift F5 toggles). "text delete" (LWin F5) gets rid of it. The advantage it has over scratchpad is that the full 9-line, including coordinates, just stays on the screen and you don't have to type them out, or write them on a piece of paper. Oh, I always play in VR and hate taking off my headset
  22. Could wind direction and strength affect the flight of the shells too, i wonder?
  23. Thanks for that, I'll check it out However, it has only been necessary a couple of times, as i normally leave the gaming headset unplugged anyway, with most of my time spent in VR. I only plug it occasionally and spotted the VA issue, when my ageing memory led to me forgetting to unplug it again.
  24. Have you added the "scratchpad and playback..." profile to the list of daisy chained profiles, in the profile options for VAICOM Pro?
  25. Something I've noticed, and although it may not be your issue, it is worth mentioning. I always use the mic in my Oculus Rift for VoiceAttack, but I still have to unplug my Logitech gaming headset, which also has a mic, to avoid what you might be experiencing. I am sure that there are settings that i could change somewhere, to avoid having to physically unplug the gaming headset, but that works and there isn't much chance that i would ever need 2 headsets at once.
