If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the Warthog extension from and how much did it cost? I'm definitely interested in getting my hands on such a mod.

LOL! Yeah, I can imagine. :D I'm using a mongrel setup with my Uber NXT Cougar stick, my Warthog Throttle and my Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals. I tried with the stock Warthog and found it too stiff and heavy. The Uber NXT has got a really light feel which works really well for the UH-1. I tried the Uber NXT with the FC3 aircraft (Su-27, A-10A and Su-25) and it felt horrible compared to the Warthog. Far too loose and "imprecise". Looks like I'll be doing a fair amount of swapping controllers in and out over the coming weeks.

There seems to be an inconsistent issue with ALT+TABBING back to the desktop from the simulation. It works fine from within the menus, but it only seems to work sporadically when you're in game. I've only been flying the UH-1, so I don't know if it's specific to that module or a more general issue.

Bought. Still about 8 hours from even being able to start downloading it, though. :(

Any new changes run the risk of breaking something else and would require a whole new slew of testing. If they've got any sense, they'll wait. If 15 years in games industry has taught me anything, it's that there's no such thing as a "small fix" at the end of a project.

So the guy that sources 99% of his software online but doesn't know the difference between installing and downloading takes time out from a forum argument to nip down to his local store and buy a physical copy of X-Plane? Is that what you're saying?

Correct. You only have to go through Microsoft certification on PC if you're releasing a Games for Windows title. If you're NOT a Games for Window title, you don't have to get certified by Microsoft and you don't pay them a penny.

I feel exactly the same. The F-15 holds very little interest for me, but it's horses for courses and I know that there are many people that feel very differently. Similarly, I know that there are many people that couldn't care less about the Ka-50 even though it's my favourite simulated aircraft of all time.

I hope this means that my Black Shark wingman will finally stop just sitting there and acting like missile-sponges whenever an enemy helicopter turns up on the battlefield. Why isn't there a "fingers crossed" emoticon? :)

3rd Party and DCS are not exclusive. The best 3rd party developers will be developing DCS products (see: Beczl's DCS: Mig 21, Belsimtek's DCS: UH-1 Huey and VEAO's DCS: Hawk). I assume that you mean "Is the FW-190 going to be developed by Eagle?". In that case, I believe the answer is "Yes".

Are there any tutorials for using the Dynamic Weather options to generate visually interesting weather patterns that differ across the theatre? I've spent the last hour experimenting (just hacking away with random numbers and settings, really) but I just end up with clear blue skies. :( I now defer to someone way smarter than me... :huh:

Can't see there being a huge market for the Hip, but I'm certainly really excited at the prospect. I used to love flying the Blackhawk in Longbow 2 and the idea of insertion/ extraction/ CSAR missions is really appealing to me. Bring it on!

Agreed all three points, i.e. The wingman AI is horribly... inconsistent. I posted about it myself a few weeks back: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=103013 ED are likely to move on without addressing these issues unless they're aware that it's an ongoing frustration. Black Shark is/was/shall be a fantastic sim. :) Really happy to see positive steps being taken to address this, though. Thanks for your efforts Nate and GAJ.

Assuming that we get realistic carrier ops, I suspect that I will just spend weeks taking off, flying circuits and landing on the boat again.
