  1. sounds good - because, a good and detailed briefing is VERY important imho. and 1 picture 512 x 512 pixel is just not very much :) especially when the server is public! for closed sessions, one could create briefings in powerpoint, create PDFs, whatever...
  2. when creating multiplayer missions, i can add different pictures to the briefing. i am able to have different ones loaded in the editor, i can click trough them, and all of them are included in the .miz file. but before the mission starts, only the first one of them is shown, and no possibility to switch from one to the next... when flying campaign, there are several briefing pictures for a mission. so my question is, if / how it is possible to add more than 1 picture for multiplayer missons... if i have to edit something in notepad++ it sould be no problem, just need to know what lines to insert where etc.
  3. i had the same with some missions i downloaded. i had to delete them and downloaded again, then they worked. try to save a mission in the editor (with nothing in it, maybe 1 unit...), then try to fly it or to open it again. if it works with that one, most probably your file(s) are damaged. if not... well... update the video drivers then :)
  4. yes, the tracks work for watching as a replay. specs (shouldn't they be in the dxdiag? anyway...) Q6600 Core2Quad ASUS P-5B Plus 2 x 1GB DDR2-800 Nvidia 8800GT 512MB, new drivers from 2 weeks ago (i'm at work, don't know the version nr) DVD Writer/Reader - unknown manufacturer Cable, DL/UL 15'000/1'500 kbit/s X52 standard, Saitek ProFlight Rudderpedals, TrackIR 4 XP home, 32 bit, SP3, all autoupdates, .NET framework 3 DX see dxdiag - was always up to date, and i installed the dx9 files from the BS installation process
  5. bumpedi-bump, seems the fred did not get updated by editing the last entry... added the tracks and dxdiag
  6. hold down the trim button or activate the flight director disengages the autopilot, which tries to hold the heading you have (so he works against your yaw)
  7. the fool protection in the real pit is the fact, that the extinguishers will launch automatically and so you DON'T TOUCH THEM. then, as a second protection, there are these red thingies around the buttons, so you can not accidentally touch them, you have to press the buttons inside these red thingies with your fingertip. if you accidentally hit buttons with your fingertip and press them, you should not fly attack choppers. or planes. or drive cars at all...
  8. jup, sadly :). and, the text and voice triggers only work for singleplayer missions (right now), so no-go for multiplyer
  9. add "hold/stop_for_timeXY" function to waypoints of groundunits in the ME. add "hold/stop_till_trigger" function to waypoints of groundunits add a "continue" trigger function, so you can release the units from the hold/stop position by trigger... would be great for generating more dynamic/realistic missions...
  10. just 2 more infos: - inside blackshark, you see the internal IP of your PC when you're behind a router. so it's ok to choose an internal IP as interface in the server settings. but, the port has to be forwardet to that IP. - DMZ is a workaround for not forwarding ports. basically, you allow ALL traffic on ALL ports for a specific IP. in that way, you bypass the routers firewall. it's ok to do it here and there, but really not recommended to have it like this for long time... exept, you like to install windows and fight some trojans :)
  11. activating the flight director DEactivates the autopilot, so the AP-channels only work as dampers/dampeners (?). for routemode and hovermode, the shark needs the autopilot to work. all the single AP-channels of: completely manual steering (not recommended, as you fight the shark instead of fly it) AP-channels on(exept barometric), FlightDirector (FD) off, Routemode ® off: The channels work as dampeners, no real autopilotage. the channels/AP try to hold the shark in the actual heading, pitch, bank. AP-channels on(exept barometric), (FD) off, ® on: The Autopilot is engaged and flies on its own. depending on the setting, it flies to the next waypoint directly (setting: heading) or steers to match the course/leg of the flightplan. one on the leg, he turns toward the next steerpoint. AP-channels on(exept barometric), (FD) on, ® off: with the fligtdirector engaged, the AP will be disengaged. so it still works as a dampener, but doesn't try to hold the heading/pitch/bank. don't take this for 100% sure, i wrote it at work, out of the brain. and that's not in a very good condition (god praise the smoooke LOL)
  12. i use a trackIR3, but i disabled that axis and so i zoom with a slider on my hotas. zooming with trackIR never satisfied me in blackshark, as it zoom somehow... "strange", never testet out why i feel it this way. but for sure, with a slider for the zoom, you can zoom a lot smoother and MORE imho...
  13. does blackshark scale up with the overclock more or less linear? +20% speed means around +20% FPS in the game (with the same settings of course), or -20% hiccups? i run it around 30FPS, but with some units/AI going on, these drop like nothing. actually, i use a Q6600 @ 2.4GHz stock...
  14. jeah, sorry - i wasn't sure if its a bug, so i don't post it in here... i tried it with different tracks, i will upload one of them when i'm back home. anything else you need (specs will follow with the file), like installed codecs? a dxdiag? testvideo.trk testvideo2.trk DxDiag.txt
  15. do not stare at the moon. or the sun. look the other way, where that brownish-green stuff is moving in your direction. that's called "ground", and he is basically your enemy as long as you don't look at him. he's very jealous, and he really likes to be looked at. so he starts to be a friend, and he will cover you! he will guide you! he's really a friend then. but NEVER look in a other direction for too long, especially not at other THINGS, or he will magically elevate himself in front of you and SLAM, revenge for the betrayal in a long-time-relationship... ...uhm, what was this thread about?
  16. Hi all, I don't know if this is a BUG, or if I just am too stupid (which is the most common "bug" worldwide). I try to generate a .avi out of the missioneditor. The descrption in the manual is not really long or complicated, so I - open ME - (load the mission or not, it's not working in both cases) - choose "generate AVI" - select the desired track, choose the options (tried different ones, like "full frames, not compressed", "huffyuv" etc. - tried maybe 8 different ones), quality 25% or 100% (tried both), tried with all the different soundoptions. but whenever i click OK, blackshark loads "something", and after some 2 minutes i see a debriefing screen without any actions inside. from there, i can choose to save the track, fly again or watch the track. but it doesn' matter what i choose, it never starts to render and/or creating a movie. also, the MOVIE folder in BS is empty, and nothing on the desktop... is this function somehow broken?
  17. -> 192.XXX (router IP) -> INTERNET for setting up a server, you need to forward the used port! standard port = 10308. check www.portforward.com for the details how to do this. if you have more than 1 computer (read: device with internal IP, like network printer, NAT storage etc), you better set fix IP's, so you can deactivate the DHCP on the router... when done, you should be able to set up a server. either your server will show up on the serverlist (so the ppl can click and connect), or not - then the clients need to connect to your external IP directly. check your external IP and hand it out to the clients, but they need to add the port after the IP or it will most likely not wort (ie: 85.132.4.23:10308)
  18. the trim does only hold the stick in the current position. so you could completely deavtivate / not use trimming, and just hold the stick in a certain position, then you have it as real as it gets... or wait, use a force feedback joystick, because these DO stay in position when you trim. but that's how the shark fly in real, so we have to get used to it... trim, trim, trim. and then, trim some more :)
  19. i also correct the drift with adding some pedal to the right and trim it out like this. but i always got confused like hell when slowing down and re-trim the whole thing. so i startet to ALWAYS hit trim reset when starting a slow-down. the first thing that will happen is the shark rising its nose high, and starting to drift to the left like nothing. but if you do it quite often, you will get the hang of it and you know how much you have to push the cyclic forward to maintain (more or less) the nose on the horizon. so i hit trim reset and immediately push the stick forward (maybe half the way), but DONT CARE the nose is starting to drift leftways. as soon as the nose is stable on the horizon (when you got used to it, maybe 3 seconds after trim reset), TRIM and THEN compensate for the left-turning with the pedal. DONT re-trim when you have some rudder added, exept you want to hold it on purpose for a longer time (read: when flying fast for a long leg) works for me. sometimes i forget to center the rudder before adding the trim, and 1 minute later i wonder myself why the shark is dancing in the sky like nothing...
  20. as i have a similar system - i DO hear the clicks inside the pit when activate a switch by keyboard or joystick. i use onboard-sound, by the way, no soundcard. my specs: 1. Core2Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz 2. Asus P5-E Plus 3. 2 Gig RAM DDR2-800 4. 8800 GT 512MB 5. (don't know) DVD / CD R, W, RW 6. Cable 15000/1500 7. X52, Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals, TrackIR 3 Pro 8. Win XP 32bits Home SP3 9. DirectX 9c with lastest redistribubles.
  21. i know this. but, if you create a mission for 8 ppl for online flight, it's a really time-consuming and boring process to load up every single chopper and add all the points, lines etc. one by one. so i was looking for a faster/easier method :)
  22. Thanx, that was the information i was looking for! so i can at least copy/paste from one bird to the others, maybe even add informations to the abris directly instead of in-game/in-pit. GREAT!
  23. do you have some more infos about the ABRIS programming? i'm testing out the ME and doing some basic missions for some onlinemissions, and to programm the ABRIS for every single flight by hand inside the mission just doesn't seem to very productive...
  24. you could teach me how the flag-rules work :). i just don't get it... but better use the time to create more missions, so i can fly instead of building missions hehe...
  25. i always set 4 singleships without any wingmen as CLIENT, and then i edit the names and numbers in a way they "match" as a fourship (Name "Flight1_Lead", Flight1_Wing1" etc) this way, they are sortet in the missionbriefing and its clearly visible for everyone which aircrafts belong together. for more than 4 players, you need to discuss the frequencies to tune in, every "4-ship" can use the datalink with no problems as long as they have a own frequency. but it's a pain in the ass to set all these flights in the editor by hand, one by one *iiks*. you have to go trough the whole process for every single human-controlled unit... creating weapon-loadouts, setting the waypoints... ED, please add a COPY/PASTE function in the editor :) so generally i really support your question about 4-ship flights with 4 humans in them...
