i would, but they don't work somehow. i created a profile for BS, and AA never worked in BS, no matter which setting i choose (in the application profile, in the global profile... no difference in-game). then i deleted the profile and forced AA in the global setting and *tataaa*, now it works. don't ask me why, it's the first software i ever had with this problem... but nevermind, it's fancy shiny-shiny bling bling now :joystick:
-
nope, you have to force it by the driver... (and don't forget to deactivate it again when switching the software, like me... was wondering why my CoD5 is running at 15fps yesterday, then i realised i still play on 16xAA heh)
-
and make sure you don't have any racingwheels etc. plugged in, as additional controlles can screw up the joystick input in the game. also, disable the force feedback function! some ppl have problems when FF is activated. i don't know the name of the file, but search the forum, you should find it...

Recommended settings for UV26 Flare dispenser
mckee14 replied to BaD CrC's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
LOL, i want to hear THAT sentence from one sitting in the real shark while having a missile inbound :) maybe then it's more like ALL OF THEM - IN ONCE - 0.01 SECONDS!!! -
...if the setted INU fixpoints would be on the right spot on the map / in the ABRIS, it would help to perform the task as its written in the manual, but it seems the fixpoints have a offset of "one minute" (Lat/Long) ;) it's already in the BUG-section i think...

Hosting with black shark i think i found a bug
mckee14 replied to graywo1fg's topic in Bugs and Problems
as i have the very same thing happening to servers hosted by myself - which informations would you like to have? basic informations: OS: XP home 32 bit, sp3, .net framework 3 (i think - the newest one) Connection: Cable, 15'000/1'500 DL/UL Kbit/s Router: DLink 314+, connected by LAN cable Static IP for PC: yes Forwarded Port: 10308, both (TCP and UDP), to static IP Antivirus Software: Avira Antivir (the personal free-to-use one) Hamachi: Installed, the digital Network-Card active, but Hamachi itself not running Behaviour: I open up a server, and ppl can connect as long as they change the port manually to 10308 before connecting (I use passwort protection). Even if my server is taken from the History, SOME ppl get a wrong port by default. Notice: some ppl just can click and connect with no problem, the port is shown as 10308 to them... hope it helps in any way... otherwise, i can host that server for den devs and they can try it by themselfes if they want. i live in europe, so different time zones shoud not be that big a problem :) -
i noticed similar behaviour in some self-made missions - sometimes the laser just doesn't lock and gives out no range, sometimes it even locks but gives back a wrong range... i was wondering myself why the gunshots went waaay too short.. maybe it has something to do with the contrast of the target to the ground. by changing the size of the tracking-gate and/or changing my position and locking from a other angle, it finally worked. maybe it's the same problem you encounter?

but there is the option in the ME to "force" the clients to use your setting. i think so long nobody activate this setting. i can't confirm if it's working, just seen it the other day when setting the options for a mission. could be helpful sometimes, because if you create a mission based on medium and you fly it with high details, there could be units in a forest where the other ppl only see flat land without trees...
-
yeah, you need a steerpoint before the targetarea, from this steerpoint you need to assign a targetarea which covers the bunkers and stuff, and define the targets for that targetpoint as "buildings" and/or "statics". the aircraft must be able to aquire the target (visually or by sensors), otherwise it will do nothing. you can also add 2 targetpoints defined as POINT, then the aircraft will drop all the bombs between these 2 points in 1 run (carpetbombing).

Saitek X52 - Stick sort of stuck in game
mckee14 replied to Koenigstiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
what image verification system? the problem is related to the "saitek rulez" message, there is a problem with the X-52 Pro. a friend of mine had the same issue, i think you have to start black shark, alt-tab to the desktop and open up the window with all the running services... i think you understand german (by the name of you), so: rechtsklick auf Arbeitsplatz, VERWALTEN. dort unter DIENSTE UND ANWENDUNGEN die DIENSTE anwählen, dann steht rechts eine lange liste. darin sollte irgendwas mit Sai... stehen. (SaiOut oder so). diesen dienst deaktivieren(stoppen) und neu starten, dann sollte es gehen. otherwise, just search the forum for "saitek rulez" and you will find a english description how to handle this problem... grüsse aus der schweiz, mckee -
indeed, would be great to generate whole "bases" with different static objects and save them as templates!

Hosting with black shark i think i found a bug
mckee14 replied to graywo1fg's topic in Bugs and Problems
i know :). we tried to evaluate what it could be, but honestly we have no idea... a friend of mine thougt about other programs running in the background, and blackshark just "grabbing" that port to display. but the damned portnumber changes from time to time, so i really think it's bug-related. or maybe it's a feature? ;) -
@vati: you can set one shark as client and save the mission, and open the multiplayer while you are still in the editor. this way you can check the units placement. if you see you have to correct something, change it in the ME (alt+tab), save the mission, reload it in MP. its way faster than always load the mission from the editor, as the engine is already preloaded in the MP section. still, a satellite view would be VERY welcome for missionbuilding :) @jimiC: you're right! but then, u could also just use the text message trigger for that - if it would work in MP... but they're on it (at least it's what ED said)...
-
it is planned to develop the ME further and further. they have it already on the list to implement more functions for future modules, maybe even add some stuff by patch. actually, the most important thing is to make the SP triggers work all for the MP, and ED confirmed to be working on it... so times will become better and better *fingers crossed*

in one of my first posts i wrote almost the same - "hold" or "deactivate" triggers/waypoints, and some "reactivate" triggers. in the meantime i think it would be really sweet to have an additional "if_inside_FieldOfView" trigger :) :) different waypoints based on a trigger makes only limited sense imho. either you tell them what to do, or the units have to decide (like you only set a start and an end point, and they go there like they want and the environment allows). as a workaround, you can have 3 groups with different waypoints and only activate one of them by trigger or by chance %. mission end triggers? noooo, i want to return to the base and land that (damaged and almost-shot-to-pieces) baby :) clients in groups would be nice, but it's not a big think like it is right now. just copy/paste the way- and targetpoints from one flight to all the others...

Hosting with black shark i think i found a bug
mckee14 replied to graywo1fg's topic in Bugs and Problems
no, it makes no sense :) i have the same problem, when i set up a server, the port behind my IP is wrong! so when the players try to connect, they appear in the game, but they have the "pause"-symbol in the corner, around 1 minute later they disconnect (THEY get the message "server has been shut down". if this is the case, the people have to enter the port behind the IP manually, then it works! your server is running on port 10308, bit just sets and shows a differnt one in the lobby ...which, indeed, makes no sense at all :) -
Flight groups - Abris - Datalink - Multiplayer (Coop)
mckee14 replied to MadTommy's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
from 1 - 4 players, just select the ID 1 to 4. with more than 4 players, the players need to define different frequencies for each group (the groups are not set in the edito, you can have 4 flightleads on one frequency for that matter). we mostly choose the standard frequency for the flight 1, then the 126.5 mhz frequency for the second flight, and 125.5 mhz for the leads. that way, the leads can tune in to share their targets, then tune back into the own flight and share them with the wingmen... -
we had the same issues with some players lately - the solution was to enter the needed port manually after the IP adress. check if there is the correct port written after the IP - sometimes BS tends to set a wrong port, no idea why... if you just choose a server from the list and click connect, you will see the ip listed like XX.YY.XX.YY:4060 -> change that to XX.YY.XX.YY:10308. if the window does not appear (don't know if it shows that window on servers without password), just enter the IP manually ("connect IP directly" or something like that) and it should work. and for sure, you have to forward that port in the router...

This campaign is... and not compatible with Vista?
mckee14 replied to bladebarrier's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
as i remember, there is an "issue" how vista is adressing the RAM, and ED already is in contact with MS to adress this issue with a update for vista. the problem is vista-sided, and only MS can do something about it... no guarantee for that, but i think i read someting like this a few days ago somewhere around here... -
it's only a guess, but they should be included inside every single mission-file. as they are not static buildings but placed "units", you should find them there. but no idea, if they are saved with a frequency or only with the location etc. (you can open the .miz files with winzip/winrar, just rename them from ABC.miz to ABC.zip. then, when opened, you can open and edit the files with notepad++, and save them. then, zip them again, and rename the file back from ABC.zip to ABC.miz)

you see the small black dot in the upper right section? that's bond... james bond...

if you find the damn dam and look at it, you'll see that a single KA50 could blow it up :). it's NOT a _large_ dam. it's not really a dam, its more like a small wet wall heh...
-
because FSX and DCS do not use the same engine? you have to change the details in the options and restart the engine AFAIK...
-
just assign the commands in the ingame-menu, works like a dream, no problems. if you want to use the pinky-switch on the x-52, you have to create a empty profile and in this profile, delete all the shiftet modes! by doing so, the pinky-switch will be "given free" as a directX button by the SST, so you can define that switch inside BS as a shift/pinky-button. important: delete ALL the funcions you don't need/want on the joystick! by default, there are many buttons automatically mapped to different buttons. if you load a profile with some of these buttons assigned, the sofware can get confused...

and you need to have a direct "line of sight" between the sharks, otherwise they can not cummunicate between each other.
