  1. That line has been missing. Thank you so much for a very quick and helpful support! PS: Will pay attention to export.lua in the future, since after DCS updates the file has to be deleted in order to solve the popping up comms menu. That may have been the reason, why thing got broken up...
  2. Hey everybody, I have purchased TacView a couple of months ago. However, since approx. August I cannot replay my flights. I do have a zip-file of every single flight I have been doing (single player), but when opening those files, I do not see any planes, the video shows 0 secs of length. When I am opening my old files from July, everything is fine. Tacview is up to date V1.8.4, DCS Open beta also up to date. Any ideas? Cheers!
  3. Yes, it´s a common problem after a DCS update. You have to delete the export.lua file in the following folder: user\savedgames\dcs\scripts It ist NOT the folder, where your dcs is installed, but your user folder (normally at the c:\ drive) After deleting, the file will be created again when running DCS and VA and then it should work. If that doesn´t help, look at your vaicom-settings and check, if the assignment of your dcs-folder is correct, sometimes this also gets lost.
  4. Hey Trespasser, also I had mothballed my PC from 2009 for a long time. Since 3 years I'm back again and also started VR quite early (right at the beginning of Rift CV1). Since I fly privately VR is the best substitute drug of all - I never thought that something comes so close to real flying. So - whatever it takes to lift you into the VR world - it's worth it! Best, MadMonty
  5. So the last Update provided Air2Air Refuling for the flight - very nice! I found the order to refuel in the comms menu and asked my wingman to refuel. He confirmed, went to the tanker and took for just one second fuel. Then he went back to my wing. A short time later he reported Bingo fuel, so it seems that the refuling process did not work (as expected with less than one second being connected). Have I done something wrong or missed a step? PS: happend at Red Flag training mission by Sedlo Edit: Since this thread has been moved, let me add, that I am talking about an F-16 mission / flight (the update provided especially AAR for F-16 wingman)
  6. That´s not correct. Search for AP OFF within the Viper key settings and you can assign a button.
  7. An easy way to solve: First program your throttle (I do it via Target) as follows: AP UP = DX 10 (for example) AP MIDDLE = DX 11 AP DOWN = DX 12 Than enter DCS and set the bindings to AP Path = DX 10 AP Off = DX 11 AP Alt. = DX 12 Runs without any problems from the very first minute. You can also set keys to AP Path / Off / Alt. in DCS and programm those keys to your throttle. Either way... Important is, that the is AP OFF as an available command, so you can use it for the middle position of your switch.
  8. Always welcome! Nice videos on your youtube channel... I fly - unfortunately far too rarely - from the vicinity of Munich, Germany. We don't have a coast, but we have wonderful Alps. I don't have my own plane, but I fly from simple C172 to performance planes like Mooneys. Do you use VR in DCS? If not - you have to go for it. Nothing comes as close to real flying like VR - it´s simply amazing! Cheers, MadMonty
  9. Did you follow the INS coordinates confirm procedure? You have to select the coordinates and confirm them by pressing Enter within the first 1 or 2 minutes of the allignment. PS: Private pilote too :-)
  10. Having the same issue. Does uninstalling F15 + Su27 solve the problem? Has anyone tried so far? Just curious, as I won't be able to get to the PC before the weekend.
  11. Look at my post the page before - got it sorted out as follows:
  12. Got it sorted out. Vaicom has lost the path to my DCS World folder. Start Vaiocom, press strg+alt+c for Setup-Window, go to "Config" and set correct path at "use costum DCS path". Or watch the video: It seems like that also solved my starting problem somehow. Hope it helps you too...
  13. I still having some major problems with DCS 2.5.6 and Voice attack... I am using latest version of Voice attack, Vaicom pro and DCS open beta. 1st problem: My loading screen of DCS stucks at 10%. I always have to repair the installation of DCS and then getting the message, that "common.lua" and "speech.lua" are not the original version of the files (I know, that Voice attack is changing those files). After repairing the installation, DCS is running with Voice attack. But I have to repair DCS always, before starting it new. 2nd problem: Voice attack does recognize my phrases, e.g. "ATC, request take off" or "Flight, engage bandits". But nothing happens afterwards. Reading the log of VA, it tells me, that no recipient has been found...!? I am using easy comms in DCS and VA. I never had such problems before. Does anyone have a clue, how to solve the above mentioned problems? Many thanks in advance!
  14. Happend to me again yesterday, unfortunately no track available. But the moment I lost sound, I have activated time accelaration 2 times. Once again, only cockpit engine and gun sound has been gone, while I could listen to the radio. External view had all sounds available.
  15. Ran into the "no sound" problem today for the very first time. No sound in cockpit, but in external view. So I have flown 13 mission of the relict campaign without any problems. Today I tested the "operation secret squirrel" (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3306916/) and changed my missionscripting.lua as requested. After being shot down and taking the 2nd F86 I lost the engine sound during flight. So maybe it has something to do with the revised missionscript.lua, since I had no problems before!? Just a guess...
  19. I could not see the track either. But another problem could be, that INS has not been aligned fully / correctly. Does the GBU-38 shows "RDY" in DSMS? At the time I had the problems, my failure has been that I have been taxiing while INS was still aligning. As a result INS failed to align properly and the GBU-38 therefore have never become "RDY" to drop. Anyhow - just a guess..
  20. Arctander - you saved my day!! Thank you very much for your wonderful post. It's nice to read how much fun you have with DCS. And I read many parallels. I applied to the Luftwaffe, had top marks and a pilot's seat almost certainly, they noticed a heart defect and my life's dream burst. I had the chance to get my private pilot's license in early years, which is a lot of fun, but I am missing the A/A and the A/G mode in the Piper  :D My rig looks a bit like yours, although mine is by far not as well equipped as yours (only TM Warthog and MFD, old CH pedals that are changed at Christmas and Rift S). Imagine I just moved a few months ago and my big dream is a 6DoF platform. It just lacks time and money, but at some point I want to realize it. And yes - I can totally understand one point with you. I myself have so little time (max. 1 evening per week) to play DCS and the worst thing that can happen is when something does not work. This refers to system- or hardware-related problems. As far as the airplanes are concerned, we are all free to fly those that work or are further developed. In this respect, it seems many of us want to protect the youngest babies of the developers... Believe me or not, but you just collected an incredible amount of sympathy points from me. I take my hat off to you, especially that you showed us all how much fun you can have here. Great!
  21. A wise man once told me that people who have nothing else in their lives are at least right and that is why it is so important to them to always be right. I very much hope for your sake that he is wrong. If we had, as for example with the purchase of a car, the selection from dozens offerers, then I could understand you still a little bit (even if I would express myself nevertheless differently). But here we have enthusiasts sitting who provide us with the only reasonable hardcore flight simulation and manage to constantly supply us with wonderful new aircraft over the last years. And take a look back at how many of them really look excellent today. So I'm thinking twice about demotivating the developers with my choice of words because they seem to do so much wrong, or I'll give them some praise to show that their work is valued. @Arctander - You are in the right and I don't want to take it away from you. If I read your other posts (e.g. Hornet), a common thread of detailed complaints against ED runs through your posts. It would be a great sign from you, if you would announce here and now what you like about ED and DCS. There is certainly a developer who on Monday will be all the more pleased to make the solution to your / our problems ....
  22. Proposal to all those for whom development is not fast enough. Uninstall the Viper and only reload it when it is stable. In the meantime just pretend it hasn't been released and please be happy if it's stable with more features. Would the Viper be further developed today if DCS had held it back? All speculation! I don't believe it and find the mostly constructive feedback of the community helpful to further develop the aircraft. At the weekend I'm thinking about what's wrong in my life, that I still have so much fun with the Viper... :D
  23. Is the communication really that bad? I'm not a software developer myself, but I'm responsible for demanding multi-million projects. The difficulty lies in the complexity of the task. We all want to have as much information as possible in advance, yes we urge the developers on this platform to respond. As so often in life and no matter in which branch, surprises, problems and changes await those who are responsible. Not everything can always go according to plan and that's exactly what some people come across here in the forum, because originally A was promised and B was made. My only concern is to show some understanding and not to blame everything on bad communication or faulty strategies / developments. Which of us is already free of mistakes? I totally agree with you! I am not entitled to speak for the rest of the forum. In this respect I have probably expressed myself somewhat unhappily - it was only meant well. However, I was often allowed to lead conferences with numerous visitors and have always had the experience that those who see problems in a matter were much louder and more dominant than the agreeing (silent) rest. So I took the liberty to use my experience for this forum as well. Please don't hold it against me...
  24. Dear DCS developers, it hurts my soul to see the hostility you are sometimes confronted with. I am certainly not alone when I express here my deep gratitude and respect that there are people like you who enable us to fly in such fantastic worlds as only you can create. I realize that many of us are impatient (so am I). When new planes are announced, you will be annoyed when they are finally released. If they are released in beta stage in advance to allow the most impatient to try them out, you will get annoyed why there are so many bugs and why it takes so long to fix them. I have the feeling that you can never please some of these people! And as so often they are the ones who make themselves heard here and thus falsify the image of the community. The large (silent) majority is just happy and proud of what you do for us every day! It was just important to me to pour out my heart here - even if it was offtopic.
  25. Thx for the quick reply. I have everything up to date, but the problem still occurs - even when using "Dodge select" (what my flight is) or "flight select". VHF is the right band to radio to your wingman while using the Viper. And of course - it does work with my configured radio button on the correct VHF frequency, I only have to press RAlt # once -- from then on I get a response from my wingman. Taking the next mission - same configuration - no response, until RAlt # opens the communication to my wingman. Maybe you have another idea!? Best, Monty
