Perfect, thank you! Much appreciated.

Could you post your settings? Similar specs but my FPS is much worse. Thanks!

Could someone repost the full list of abstractions for 2.5.2? Would be much appreciated.
-
I concur. Despite many people telling me different, my experience is also that G-Sync off is much smoother.

This would be the same as calling Nevada "DCS:USA" It's a misleading name. It sounds much more impressive to reviewers and prospective buyers though.

This is somewhat helpful, aside from the instruction not making any sense, but why the heck is this coming off the Russian IL2 board and not from VKB? I've been asking questions about this on the VKB tech support forum for a week and there they won't even confirm how the folding trigger is supposed to work in the first place.

Hoping someone can answer this...

I bought from the same seller. This is what I bought to power them - works great. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B009ZZNHYC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 EDIT: This is the model I bought, hence the 12v https://www.ebay.ca/itm/HDMI-LCD-Controller-Board-With-7inch-CLAA070MA0ACW-800x600-LCD-Screen/182521275319?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 -

Triple Monitors or 75" 4k TV ???
exray replied to Warhog's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm very happy with my single ultrawide monitor (34" 3440x1440). Really nice upgrade from a single monitor for viewing area without needing to worry about getting into insane resolution territory that a triple monitor setup can require. The downside being that ultrawide "PC monitors" don't get that big and are very expensive if you want gaming bells and whistles like GYSNC/Freesync and high refresh rates. It's a good fit for me because I have it on an arm mount and can bring it closer or further away at will and I want GSYNC and fast refresh for other PC games as well. If you'd be using one statically in a cockpit solely for simming I'm not sure an ultrawide monitor would be a great solution. -
Why is the pre-purchase sale going live 6 months before the intended early access release? That seems like a very long time.

Monitor Advice 4K Downgrade
exray replied to CrimsonGhost's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I understand the logic and what you're saying. I've spent more hours than I care to count tweaking to high heaven but for me with a 100Hz G-sync monitor, TrackIR5, and DCS it always come back to the same. 60hz, 60FPS, Vsync On, G-Sync off, is the smoothest response. Monitor Advice 4K Downgrade
exray replied to CrimsonGhost's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm using the same monitor (PG348q) and my smoothest perceived performance when panning in track IR is G-Sync off, V-sync on, refresh rate 60hz, limit DCS to 60fps. I will go back and try G and V on 100hz refresh, capped around 100fps but I remember not liking those results before. -
Definitely no problems here holding that button while actuating anything else on the stick. Getting it to work as an actual shift in DCS might mean rebinding it to a key input in the vkbdevcfg software though.

In the drop down that says KG12 can you select MCG or Generic Device? From the screenshot you posted.
-
You need to update to the 1.917 firmware for the MCG I believe. Get the firmware and zbootloader from the vkb site, put them in your vkbdevcfg folder the hit boot loader from within vkbdevcfg.

Just doesn't synergize with TrackIR for whatever reason. -

In my experience you don't want G-Sync or high refresh if you're using TrackIR - the technologies just don't seem to play well together. Smoothest results for me is to limit refresh rate to 60hz, throttle DCS to 60 max fps (with rivatuner), and set v-sync on either in DCS or in the NVIDIA control panel. If I try running DCS uncapped or capped at 100fps, at 100hz with G-sync, I get lots of stuttering and tearing while panning with TIR. I'm also using a 1080ti. -
I played with my new gunfighter and MCG Pro quite a bit over the weekend. My impressions coming from a Warthog stick: - Stick movement is smooth and sweet; shocking improvement over the warthog and very precise around centre. Coming from the Hog, the default MCG springs seem very very very light (combined with the light weight of the stick itself) so expect big inputs unless you change springs or put in some serious input curves. I'll say the smooth precision control is easily the best thing about this joystick and grip combo. - The "middle finger button" is a massive improvement over the pinky button on the Warthog. It is much more comfortable to actuate with your hand in a natural position than having to stretch down with your pinky. Makes an excellent "shift" button for stick controls if you aren't using it for NWS/Laser/whatever. - As a 1 to 1 replacement for the Warthog, it's going to take some time to get used to the thumbstick and hat switch layout. You've got either TMS/DMS pretty much where it's always been but after that you're on to using the index finger hat (which works well, but doesn't feel natural) or the "gate control" thumbstick (which also works well, but feels weird as you can move it freely on the X/Y axis, instead of a hat which can only go left/right/up/down, also if you use gate control this way, you probably won't be able to use it for TGP slew, which I know a lot of people are unsatisfied with on the Warthog throttle). - The master mode hat with it's relative axis mode seems cool, but you'll have to work to get the most out of it. During my flights I easily got mixed up between normal mode/relative mode/short press to reset which mucked up my trimming quite a bit. For ease of transition, consider disabling the relative mode if you're used to the Warthog trim hat behaviour. - As crazy as it may sound, I think I prefer the feel of the buttons on the Hog. MCG buttons work fine and are responsive but have a harsher clicky feel than I'm used to, and I'm not a big fan of the flat plastic pickle button. The triggers feel a little mushy to me, but click properly at each stage. - The 3 position fold down trigger currently does not work properly if you set a repsonse curve on the stick. Apparently this is a known issue and will be addressed with a software update. - In my opinion, the supporting software needs a lot of improvement (Wizzo/Vkbdevcfg). Not what I'd call intuitive or user friendly. - VKB is working on it, but to me this seems a bit of a sloppy release; documentation and firmware not ready when the sticks reach the customers is subpar. Personally I'm glad to have it and I will use it enough to justify the cost ($520 USD after shipping and duty to Canada) but it's not without issues.

My GF + MCG Pro should be arriving today. What is it I need to do (or not do) to avoid damaging the dry clutches? Edit: got it.

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
exray replied to rrohde's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
I would say if you haven't got an email from VKB with an update and tracking number then it hasn't shipped. I got an email update with tracking info for my Gunfighter + MCG Pro on Friday. My CC was charged Dec 15. -
I hope that the front panel with the bracket can be put somewhere other than on the throttle base itself. Doesn't look like that would work well with a monstertech throttle mount in the concept.

He's right though, having to check-in on this forum for the shipping status on this is pretty Mickey Mouse. If I buy something from Amazon it's not "processing" for weeks after I've paid for it and I don't need to log in to a video game forum and hope someone from the manufacturer has talked about it. I suggest it is your horse who requires that O2 mask. -

Any experience in 38" ultrawide monitor?
exray replied to ViperDriver's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've got a 34" curved 3440x1440 monitor for DCS and personally I wouldn't go any bigger, especially not for that much more money. At 2 feet away the screen fills your field of vision nicely and for both gaming and non gaming applications, looking to the corners is already to me on the very edge of comfortable. I wouldn't want it any wider to be honest. 34" is plenty. No desire at all to mess with the current gen of VR. -
Got my jetseat today and it's great - just what I was expecting. However I do get a high pitched sort of squeaking noise during some vibrations... it's not overly loud but definitely noticeable. Pretty hard to go through 140 pages of comments but is this normal? Any tips?
