Thanks for the reply, as I said in the post, I'm not saying the map design should shift towards that, I love the map sizes we have now for what they are. I'm saying it would be favorable to (in addition to traditionally sized theatres) create large, simplified ones for those that want that type of hardcore simulation experience, more airbases, more terrain variety, wider scope of threat, change in ROE, civilian and military air traffic, more navaids, more opportunities to work on real world flight procedures like IFR cross country flights etc. These sets of terrains would be sold separately and marketed separately from the more traditional, good looking and user friendly type maps like we have today. For example we have DCS: Persian Gulf. the large scale low detail version would be called something like DCS: Persian Gulf Tactical and would be marketed as a different, more hardcore experience for those that want it. But I see what you're saying and I'm in agreement for the most part.

Ah, didn't see the "AI" part, anyway. F/A-18E and F are a must for sure as well as the Rafale, Eurofighter and a few others. F-22's, F-35's and B-2's are gonna be hard to implement correctly, as they aren't invisible, but damn close to invisible. I suppose you could just throw them into the sim like the F-117 as just regular ol aircraft (no stealth) but bare in mind RCS simulation is pretty much nonexistent in DCS right now, I dont thing the system is mature enough to handle a faithful representation of those types of jets quite yet.

Not possible. 4th gen Russian aircraft are just not possible due to the info limitations present, the newer ones feature far more classified tech. Hence why we don't have a full fidelity SU-34, SU-33, SU-27, SU-25T and others. Lack of data on the airframes = not happening. ***EDIT: didn't realize he was talking about AI***

I used a period 10 times in that paragraph... I don't need you trying to educate me on how to type. Correction, 13* times.

Part 1: In order to really deliver an authentic tactical campaign experience (like a dynamic campaign) there needs to be larger theatres of operation (Think :COUGH: and the Korean Peninsula map). For the sake of creating a more realistic tactical environment and pushing the level of realism forward and to supplement the Dynamic Campaign mechanics that are currently in development, I believe making a sacrifice in ground graphical fidelity in the interest of sheer space/area is absolutely necessary. Bigger map = more realistic mission planning opportunities and a more authentic overall dynamic campaign experience, especially with more powerful SAM sites coming into the mix. It could be marketed as a more realistic "tactical" or "alternative" experience and be sold as (examples) DCS: Vietnam Tactical or DCS: US East Coast Tactical or something along those lines and be targeted to those that are looking for said type of experience. Eventually after accruing such a hefty library of large terrains I would hope that if you were in one terrain and crossed into the next (if you owned it) you would be able to essentially load into it and continue your fight/flight. Thus coming to the "World" in DCS: World. I understand that this may not be possible in the engine right now. But I cant help but ask. Looking at the roadmap in the forums, Radio/Ingame comms (VOIP) are coming, I heard from Wags on a podcast that Dynamic Campaign is in the works and ATC will be overhauled. Part 2: Now all that's really left to make DCS the ULTIMATE tactical aviation sim in my honest opinion is larger theaters of operation as stated above and perhaps a briefing/planning "room". The Briefing/Planning "room" or screen would be used to be briefed on or coordinate and plan strikes, load data cartridges and make custom kneeboards before jumping into an SP or MP mission (or MP dynamic campaign mission). The "briefing room" could take the place of the aircraft selection screen in MP and give the player more situational awareness and a greater understanding of the objective(s) prior to jumping in an aircraft. Thanks for listening.

Belsimtek/ED... Please consider this. The UH-60 is like the F-16 of the helo world in terms of export and use. It's a serious workhorse all around the world in military, emergency and utility applications. Here are just some of the users: United States, Australia, Brazil, Taiwan, Colombia, Israel, Mexico, Slovakia, Turkey and others... The ideal variant IMO would be the UH-60L or even the UH-60M if possible. Please consider the BlackHawk or ANY of the H-60 variants! It doesn't have to be a lead slinging rocket launching gunship to be fun, you've got a mini-gun on either side of you anyway. Dropping into an LZ and extracting troops, slingin loads and just flying around would be fun enough. I rarely take the Mi-8 and UH-1H into combat anyway, and if I do its for troop/cargo transport. If we can have the CE-II and Yak-52 I dont want to hear ANYTHING about how "the UH-60L duddn hav rokkits tho, no funn" Utility helicopters have a VERY important roll in modern warfare, and are 100% a necessary addition to DCS if the goal is achieving a well rounded combat sim. ESPECIALLY with the rollout of stuff like dynamic campaigns. Thanks for listening.

lol, please be joking... The MiG-23 MLA's gonna be a joy and a challenge to fly and brings a completely different dynamic to that era of the fight. What are you getting at anyway, do you honestly suggest the MiG-23 SHOULDNT be worked on? I fail to see the point in your comment. People WILL fly the MiG-23 when the time comes to do so. (That is, in the event Razbam does a good job on it)

Been having an issue getting the script to work. Here's the current set up for the mission in the attachments. I've been flying some Case III's, I contact the carrier on button 18 (251mhz AM) and get a response from the carrier (as expected), I then make sure I contact LSO (same freq) and select Case III before hitting the platform (5k ft). I get a "Case III selected" message on the top right but never get the callouts or grades. Images are attached. Here's the video of the mission: https://youtu.be/5Yx-qizTRIw I call carrier at 19:25 and LSO shortly after (above 5000 ft) Time stamps are in the video comments

I'll defo be buying the OH-58, but pls consider taking a look at the UH-60 for development @any dev
-
though I didn't bother trying to get into the forums at that time, I was busy learning the A-10 and trying to find flyable UH-60 mods

same, since the release of DCS world TBH, I just felt like making the post to shine light on the subject once more. Kinda sad one of the most iconic helos of our era isn't represented at all in this sim. Should def have been higher on the list of priorities.

hmmmm exited out of fraps, waited a bit for the program to die, opened up DCS and all was back to normal. Perhaps the fluke is caused by some 3rd party programs doing something in the background IDK. Hopefully this helps you guys figure it out.

"Failed to get authorization data. Error code is: 502" was doing some VL practice, exited out to go do something, came back and opened up Fraps and DCS only to get this message. Hopefully it gets resolved soon, wonderful job with the module btw.

VOIP and In depth ATC that is all. thx

Uhhhhhhhhh UH/MH/SH-60, any derivative pls some cool vids: Thx

18, FSX was my first sim

Is the AV-8B night attack in active use with the USMC? Was it EVER in use with them? All I see them using is the AV-8B II+ which is practically the same thing but with an APG-65 radar. Was developing the radar the thing that pushed razbam to the NA variant instead? hmmmm:huh:

use the trim wheels on the left. Rotate the front large trim wheel forward until the hole is visible, rotate the smaller wheel to the right until Port is facing upward. Thats the best TO trim IMO. Here's one of my vids, start at 1:10 and watch the trim wheels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WbBPS87vZY and as razo+r said, it takes practice, so stay determined and adamant.

Make sure the engine is primed, make sure the magneto's are on, make you have fuel flow and that's all you need. Also have the engine RPM knob at full forward
-
press and hold the Home and Delete button at the same time, then with your left hand hit M to put the mixture knob forward as the engine sputters
