OpenTrack has been better than GH for the last 2 versions, ever since it included built-in support for Tobii. IMO, no need to ever use GH at all.
-
Thanks for that. I noticed that device some time ago. Couldn’t see any advantage over Tobii apart from price. Anyway, requiring an internet connection to make it work, and coming from China makes it a non-starter for me. Interesting though.

Share your Tobii Eyetracker 5 DCS settings
imacken replied to Rhinozherous's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It would be good to hear from ED about where their current thinking is on this. @BIGNEWY? -
Each to his own, obviously, but for me Tobii is superior to my TrackIR. The GameHub software has been improved a lot of late, and I don't see any lag or resource hogging going on at all.
-
No problem with Tobii on DCS, although it would be nice to see it integrated rather than having to use GameHub. Unlike post above, I have no issues with lag, reset button or disable button.

Tobii Eye Tracker 5 - Please add native support
imacken replied to Kah0tika's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
I, and many other Tobii users, can only agree with @Kah0tika. Please ED, start talkng to the Tobii devs and get this integrated into DCS. Very few games now have to use GameHub to make this work. -
Share your Tobii Eyetracker 5 DCS settings
imacken replied to Rhinozherous's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
We wish! DCS is now one of the few major Tobii-enabled games that doesn't support it natively. I have asked support on more than one occasion in the past if there are any plans, and I always get a very direct 'no'! Perhaps if enough people raise a ticket and ask, things might change. It's very frustrating as Tobii devs are only too happy to help with the integration into any game. -
solved No headtracking with Tobii Eyetracker with latest update.
imacken replied to DINO's topic in Input Devices
OK, so now it is solved as Tobii have released a new version of Game Hub to fix the issue. Available on https://gaming.tobii.com/getstarted/ -

I'm confused. Why is this thread marked as 'solved' when it's not? A temporary workaround is not a solution. -
Just managed to try the update. Sadly, no fix for the Tobii/ED Launcher issue. @BIGNEWY do you have any idea when this will be fixed? Thanks.
-
Has this update fixed the Tobii ET issue with the launcher? (I’m away for a few days, so can’t test.)

New Look and Feel for the South Atlantic map

It updates with normal DCS patch. -
New Look and Feel for the South Atlantic map
imacken replied to specterStudios's topic in South Atlantic
This is a good looking map, however, I hardly ever use it due to the complete lack of content available. There are a few Heatblur ones, but really, there are more or less no IAs, and no campaigns. It has been a couple of years now. -
OK, so I resolved the issue. Looking back 8 years, it seems that I bought FC3 from Steam, so I did 'Get Licences' from my ED Store profile page, and all is now good. Thanks.
-
Looks like I was wrong. Looking back 8 years(!), I did purchase FC3 on Steam and I've resolved the issue by getting the licences in my ED store profile. So, all good now!
-
Thanks, yes, that's what we have to do which is OK atm, but I believe ED are going to further develop the launcher, so I guess it will become more significant. I assume from what you said, that it is for ED to fix? Separate launcher? Unusual for launchers to be the same exe.
-
And the Tobii bug. Sorry, to keep asking, but is it ED or Tobii who are responsible for fixing this issue, i.e. Tobii doesn't work with the new DCS launcher.
-
Sorry, fully aware of that. I meant that BN has recommended that to me in another thread.
-
Good thought! Yes, I did. BTW, did you see my question above on who is resposible for fixing the bug with Tobii and the new DCS launcher? ED or Tobii?
-
Thanks BN, I said above that you had recommended I contact support in another thread and that is what I will do. If I ignore FC3 install prompts then no individual modules show. (Unless I am looking in the wrong place.) It is only when I install FC3 that the modules show.
-
Sure, I get that it works that way for some, but not me. If FC3 is not installed, then the modules are not there. If I install FC3, then they are there but with authorisation issues. FC3 is still available as download and install to me, but individaul modules are not. Example in attached.
-
I uninstall the 5 individual modules as they are the only thing available re FC3. Like everything DCS, I bought from ED store. Yes, AV checked. Yes, done repair/clean.
-
Thanks for that. What do you mean by 'vague'? Response from ED? In my case, I am on standalone, I am able to install FC3 but only get authorisation errors after that. I then uninstall each module, get the FC3 prompt back and we're in a loop. BN suggested installing Su-33 (which is also on the list after uninstalling FC3) and everything would be good with all modules available after that. That doesn't work for me.
-
No, sorry. I'm just beginning to realise that the whole thing is a mess after reading other threads. No, I wasn't saying I had a working FC3, I have it available as a download option and it is still on the list of available modules in Module Manager. However, if I install FC3, I just get authorisation errors. Since I posted, BN has advised to contact support.
-
Thanks for that. It made no difference. The Su-33 installs OK, but I just authorisation issues for all the others when I install FC3.
