  1. I wasn't talking about using Kneeboard Builder. Just drop the files in manually to C:\Users\xxx\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\kneeboard\AH-64D_BLK_II. Or, I guess you could create one in a different aircraft location using the app and then copy it across, but that seems more complex.
  2. I certainly would not agree with that statement.
  3. That is only an issue in Cold Start missions. The radar alt is on by default in hot starts which the OP said he has done.
  4. Yes! That was it. Thanks a lot. That never even occurred to me. Duh!
  5. Sorry, just noticed the title has ‘multiplayer’ in it. I never use multiplayer, so my comment was not relevant. I’m seeing the issue in single player.
  6. Can't watch your track as it requires A-4E which I don't have, but I see the same thing. Auto ranging can be working OK, then after some time in the mission - which probably involved George - it stops working, i.e. I cannot switch to it. HMD continues to show 'M' and no 'A'. No idea why, but something - maybe correctly - is making this happen regularly and I wish I knew why.
  7. Well, look here for the MAIN issue I had with Tobii before I sent it back. The 'Precise Movement' section at 6'50".
  8. The Hellfires are the easiest. Just find the target with the TADS, lase it and fire!
  9. Thanks BN, as I said above, I'm happy to go on the ricochet solution. Just thought I'd mention it as I hadn't seen it in other missions.
  10. Ok, so as reported in another thread, if you have the trigger bound to the LHG, no guard needed. If you have the trigger bound to the cyclic, then the trigger guard does come into play. Strange that the trigger guard is not mentioned at all in the manual. Always learning!
  11. Got it. Thanks.
  12. I've noticed that the trigger guard does not need to be opened to fire weapons when in CPG. Is that correct behaviour? Not mentioned anywhere in the manual.
  13. Yep, it seems like the trigger guard is not required when shooting from CPG, in any mission. I wonder if that is intentional. It's not mentioned anywhere in the manual. I might start a new thread and ask the question.
  14. If I recall, all the displays are set to night in that mission. The first thing I did was switch them all to day.
  15. You don’t need the laser for the gun. I find that Auto ranging works just as well.
  16. Weapon trigger is the same as all other triggers with first and second detents. Re laser, I bind the second detent to the brake lever on my VPC Alpha grip. Don’t bother with first detent.
  17. AFAIK, you cannot tell George to go to a point. You must direct him to a bearing.
  18. Just make sure you have the George Quick reference chart above to hand in your kneeboard. Makes life a lot easier!
  19. Not sure I see what you mean, Don. If you are handling the weapons as CPG then George will have to fly surely? Having said that, you could take control of the aircraft away from George as CPG and ignore what the instructor says, but I think it's a useful lesson for learning a few basic George commands as well. In the TM, you get a chance to use the weapons with the CPG and then, after you've completed that, you do it as the pilot and in that part, you are doing the flying.

    COMMS

Honestly lost count of how many threads there have been over several modules about this issue over the years. There ought to be a huge sticky somewhere saying 'the COMMS menu only works on the ground'!
  21. No problem. Just thought I'd point out a behaviour I had not seen mentioned before. I guess we'll just see how things progress.
  22. Sure, but it's not really the same thing. Same effect on runways, grass, water etc. Doesn't matter what the surface is. But, I submit to the greater powers, ricochet it is!
  23. Here is one over the sea. Same issue. Unlikely to be ricochets there. What do you think? gun spread 2.trk
  24. Thanks BN. Sorry, I thought it might have been missed!
