TPOD & IRMVB -- what works? Agree a track would be useful, but in the mean time part of the problem is the nomenclature. For example, keep in mind that the TDC is a switch on the throttle, not a display, not a sensor, not an image on the MFCDs, just a switch on the throttle that goes up, down, left and right, and can be pressed like a button. The SSS and some MFCD buttons change which sensor the TDC is controlling i.e. TV or IRMAV or INS or Target Pod. The TV and the target pod are not the same thing, but they can both be used to select a target which the IRMAV will the slew to when uncaged. The TV is in the nose of the jet, the target pod is... well.. the pod! There is also the FLIR above the nose of the jet, but that is for navigation only, not targetting, and frankly isn't much use until the FLIR rendering is improved. SSS is only controlling the target pod when the pod is in HTS mode (which by the way is now implemented to some degree, although I rarely use it). Check out page 110 of the manual in Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Doc Basically if you want to use the target pod forget about the SSS (edit: except for SSS forward to switch between INS/IRMV) unless you are in HTS mode. In TDC or TDC mode the SSS will only take you back to the LST or TV (the TV in the nose, not the targeting pod). In TDC orTDC just use the TDC switch on the throttle and the MFCD buttons. My impression is that you are getting confused between the TV and the target pod image. They are not the same. The target pod has CCD or FLIR modes, if it says TV, it isn't the target pod.

problem with mavericks Check the fusing is set to something other than SAFE, try IN for example. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'll have a go, since it works for me on latest OB. I'm a bit confused when you say TV, do you mean the ARBS TV image, or the image from the targeting pod? What works for me is: TGP on right MPCD Stores on left. TDC underlined Find target (Zoom buttons and wide/narrow buttons should work on TGP screen) Uncage maverick Maverick will be pointing at the area under the TGP cross hairs. SSS forward to change control from INS to IRMAV Lock target with maverick when in range Fire Control passes back to the TGP automatically Repeat Any use? Edit: reading your post again. If you are in TDC mode, then SSS aft will put in you LST I believe. To use the SSS to control the TGP, you have to be in HTS mode.

Is this on a public server? If so let me know which one and I will try to recreate. Servers I have been flying on recently have had some pre programmed waypoints and adding extras has certainly been no problem there.

I use the mouse with my throttle hand to look around. Press and hold mouse button two lets me peer around the UFC. Also have the mfd buttons mapped to the keyboard.

What version of DCS are you running?

No speed brake when carrying center tank.
Mumby replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
Crikey, that’s the biggest airbrake I’ve ever seen! Reminds me of the F35B lift fan hatch, but the other way round. -
I like it, thanks for the update.

Same for me, I have an SSD.

The best I ever managed is a gentle sine wave +/- a few hundred feet at around 30k feet average altitude. Dead level requires a careful balance of attitude, speed and trim, I’ve never got it perfect. Normally I get shot down pretty quickly anyway so it doesn’t matter :-)

I can’t believe the criticism the lightning is getting here ???? We need to even this up, I think it looks astonishingly good, one of my all time faves no doubt, really good looking. I agree, over wing tanks are not very flattering but a clean versions with two missile looks great in any colour. Ok, got that out of my system. ???? I would love to see it in DCS but agree that without proper GCI it’s use would be pretty limited. However, same could be said of the Mig 21. I would fancy my chances against the Mig, 19, 21 or 23! Overall I don’t expect I will ever see it, but I can dream.

Excellent post, thank you, very informative.

9.4 must be slant range, 8.7 is range over the ground. Your alt is 21830ft in the first image, which is 3.59 nautical miles (3.45 nm in the second image) sqrt (3.59^2 + 8.7^2) = 9.4 (Pythagoras' theorem) sqrt (3.45^2 + 8.1^2) = 8.8 Cheers P p.s. I also have the overlapping numbers in the HUD. Annoying.

Apologies if this has been posted before. We have seen Wags land at Khasab from the North, thought you might be interested to see a real approach from the south in a Jaguar B.

Purchasing the Persian Gulf Map for MP, who's buying it?
Mumby replied to F900EX's topic in DCS: Persian Gulf
Pre-purchased this new map already, can't wait to fly around here, especially the Harrier, and with the apparent improvements to night flying. I was interested to see the comments about numbers of players earlier in the thread since it is something I have wondered about. The number of people on MP servers is so tiny compared with the number of sales that must be needed to fund the development of a sim like this, plus all the 3rd party developers, especially when the core d/l is free. I have no idea about the 5% figure, but it is interesting to note that the total number of registered users on this forum is 67,445 according to the stats at the bottom of the front page. That must be more like the kind of number you need to make it financially viable. Anyway, it's May now so hopefully not much longer to wait :-) -
I must admit the flight model has seemed very odd to me since going to 2.5.1 I don't understand enough about aerodynamics or flight models to explain it very well, but what the OP describes feels familiar. It feels like severe loss of authority between 200 and 300 kts, one wing drops, aircraft sinks. I will try to repeat it and find a better way of describing it. It's not a complaint, I know this is still in development, but it does seem to have changed from 2.5 to 2.5.1 P

Does the DMT camera switch on when you are pointing at the box and show an image that seems to correlate with what you see in the HUD? In the meantime, do you definitely have the solid CCIP cross, not the dashed one? My install shows that "AG target Undesignate / NWS / FOV toggle" is in fact RWin+N, NOT LWIN+N. Cheers P

Falklands circa 1982 certainly isn't going to need SpeedTree! SpeedMud maybe....

Well spotted, I hadn't noticed that. I just tried it out, and you can also drop bombs on the waypoint in AUTO mode, so INS bombing effectively. Very accurate. Looking forward to INS getting fully implemented. Cheers P

By the way, I can see that other people (plenty of other people) are having issues with MP performance, some very similar to mine, but I figure one more log file won't do any harm.

Hi all, Already posted about my issue here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=203547 but on reflection maybe this part of the forum is a more appropriate place for it. Anyway, I can't fly MP without regular crashes back to the main screen. Game performance is good for me in MP other than that, I will be flying along quite happily looking for bandits then <wham> the sound goes off, screen goes blank, and I'm back on the main screen. Please find the dcs.log attached. Cheers Mumby p.s. I had to add .pdf to the end of the log because the log file is >500KB dcs.log.pdf

Hi all, Hope someone can help me with this. I enjoy playing MP but recently it is just getting unplayable because after 5 or 10 minutes the sound stops, screen goes blank, and the next thing I know I am back at the main menu screen (not even the MP server selection screen, the main screen with Instant Action, Mission etc down the right hand side). I normally have just enough time to start the jet, get in the air, then it is all over. It happens virtually every time. Maybe 1 in 10 times I manage to last long enough to be shot down.:joystick: Internet connection seems fine, no interruptions. I am running 2.5.014304 Doesn't seem to matter what server I join, happens with the F5 and the Harrier GR9 (sorry, I mean AV8B :music_whistling:) Is there a log file somewhere that I can post that might help someone more knowledgeable than me figure out what is wrong? The circle is clearly visible in Harrier HUD videos on YouTube, hopefully will be implemented soon.
