  1. 1. form up with a group of players 2. attack down the line of the ship from altitude, in a dive, with a coupleof guys playing flak distraction
  2. Requests for portable lights seem to be a bit of a topic recently, again. Any chance this request might be given some consideration for the WW2 assets pack?
  3. I have previously requested Bartow lights. This is a more suitable fixture in my opinion. It also does not create smoke, which would be a silly idea on an airfield. https://intrepid-design.co.uk/ww2-runway-light/ Or this:
  4. what you are asking for is already in DCS. Just select the "tented roof" variant of the open blitz truck:
  5. So we're forced to use this "possible" edge case every time? This is bonkers. Take a look at a sample of winds aloft records. A 20kt to 41kt change from 0 to 1600ft altitude is exceedingly rare. Yet we are forced to adopt this curve in every single mission. In DCS, as it is currently, it is impossible for the 1600ft wind to be anything other than 41kts if the sea-level wind is set to 20 kts. Sure, there are places and days in real life when this is the case. But suggesting that it is the case 100% of the time is empirically false - and this is what the ME does currently.
  6. See here for answer: https://stormofwar.info/fw190a8bugs.php

  8. Can The forced wind-speed curve be significantly toned down plase? If I want a 20kts surface wind, the ME forces me to accept 45 Knots at 1600ft. This is madness. I understand the need for a smooth transition in wind-speeds, but forcing a more-than-doubling of wind speed over 1600ft of altitude is incredibly restrictive.
  9. Not my reply, but pasted on behalf of someone who does not have ED forums account (from SoW Discord)
  10. If you scroll down to the bottom of the stats website you will see a table showing the list of missions currently on the server and their running order: https://stormofwar.info/
  11. Fantastic stuff Racoon! The WW2-module customers are very grateful for continued attention and maintenance!
  12. Do they have to be in the same "group" as the search lights? Do they have to be within a certain distance to the other units?
  13. If size is a concern, it might pay to reference the image below: Also, SoW wrote a comparison piece a while back. Note that this is comparing against the server's specific interests, which might be completely different from your own interests: https://stormofwar.net/2021/07/19/july-2021-dcs-map-comparison/ ---//---
  14. Here are two no-bounce wheel landings I just scraped together with about 10 minutes practice, in the Spitfire and 109. Took me 3 attempts to get it right in the spitfire (which I have not flown for ages) and 2 attempts in the 109 (which I fly quite a bit at the moment). It would be even easier with: 1. more headwind - this is set to just 2m/s 2. lighter aircraft with less fuel and ammo Wheel landings are safer in combat too, having the extra power on (and air/ ground speed) when landing makes it easier to go around - which might be necessary if the base is under threat.
  15. Are other cluster/ bomblet munitions in DCS also being similarly updated? . . .
  16. Please see the attached mission for reference. The late activation works fine in Single Player. However, once hosted as a multiplayer mission, client cannot access the Spawn slot after the triggered activation, which is possible in SP. Client late activation test.miz
  17. We have thought about it very extensively and written three full reports on the topic in addition to summary posts on the Storm of War magazine. Dietrich has already answered your questions in his post just above, I suggest reading material (particularly the linked reports) in detail.
  18. Server Awards/ Ribbons for July have been posted on the SoW Website: https://stormofwar.net/2021/08/05/august-2021-sow-investiture-for-july-2021/
