  1. The TOO HUD-box is implemented in the latest OB (March 13th; 2.5.4.28461). It's pretty darn nice! :)
  2. yes they do, I even saw a price tag in another thread not that many months ago. I think it was like ~$120 or so .... but don't take my word for it :)
  3. Sorry, bad choice of words. I was using release version of MOOSE with SPAWN:InitRepeatOnEngineShutDown() and latest OB to voluntarily cause DCS crashes along with and a super old program I have that can cause most application of choice to crash that I have at work to test application resiliency and to trigger failovers. Not sure about how it works, a friend wrote it for me like 10+ years ago :D Your application was working like it should at all times :)
  4. Excellent! Instant download for me. Seems to be working 10/10 with some self-induced crashes. One request if it's not to much work: Restart timer. If it was possible to have this tool restart the server each X minutes or hours this would be the only server tool I'd need :)
  5. Can confirm. I rent a server from a hosting company and the in-game server list ping is often about 50-100ms higher than an actual ICMP echo request/ping made from the same client computer to the host running the DCS server just seconds after I refresh the in-game list. The server list sure seems to measure something, but it's not actual ping.
  6. First impressions: The Good: Uses a lot less resources so far. Using the same mission (completely untouched between patches) prior to patch running the good ol' "server" it was using, at mission start, about 7-8GB RAM and 12.5% CPU (one full core for atleast 10 minutes before settling). After patch: just over 2GB RAM and 0.5% CPU WebGui is very nice. I like the dark theme and easy to navigate plus live logs is god mode. Cudoz to whoever added that function. The Bad: Security. I'm not very fond at all of having full file and folder browsing access over the internet where ED's account manager being the only security layer. In my eyes, I'd go so far to say it's a complete no-go. Easily fixed by closing down TCP 8088 for public access and using the local method of accessing the WebGui, of course but ppl less tech savvy might not reflect when a guide says something in the lines of "open 8088 for it to work". Some kind of additional private credential check is a must for public access for me. Presentation, in-server. It took me a good while before realizing the server was started. I just assumed the client (okok, dedicated server ;D) had froze and I restarted it several times before realizing it was actually the way it was supposed to be. A black screen saying "server loading" or "server started" would be something to aim for perhaps. A step in the right direction for sure, please keep it up and drive this thing all the way home! :) Overall: Good job ED!
  7. Sorry for being slow, a tough couple of weeks at work have taken it's toll :) But oook ok ok, I thought you were supposed to replace the Virpil TM WH Throttle base plate that I currently have mounted to the Virpil desk mount with the BlackHog HOTAS mount base plate and the mount the button box arm on that plate, but what I really want is the monstertech mounts is what you are saying. Gotcha and thanks, pre-ordering before the weekend is over :)
  8. There's a couple of post by ppl testing the 5k+ with DCS over in the VR sub-forum: https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=497 Hope that can help!
  9. So interrogation is done by sensor switch depress? I have no idea how the real stick works, but looking in the ingame options I don't see a binding for that. Will that be added or is it a "typo" and TDC depress is what was meant?
  10. 100% agreed! Just wasn't sure if you knew about the workaround or not so I thought I'd suggest it atleast.
  11. indeed, no boats visible in the ME has this option. Sure would be nice to have that as an option when setting up a Stennis for, for example a training mission meant to be running 24/7 or as close to that as you can get with the current "server". But as per usual when it comes to the limitations and shortcomings in the ME, MOOSE to the rescue (GROUP:PatrolRoute) :)
  12. Apart from the very bad pun, do we have any CaptoGlove (yes, not Capto Glove ;D) testers here on the forums?
  13. Dotted square is lost lock still kept in memory iirc.
  14. Assuming the monstertech-version is for monstertech deskmounts only I'm not sure I'm seeing a way to mount the HOTAS-version with the Virpil deskmount and still retail the "straight ahead" setup of the b-explorer like in the picture above and still clear the desk ... unless raising the throttle quite high like to the absolute top screw holes on the mount. Even the canted 45 and 90-degree options looks a bit hard to pull off. Am I just lacking imagination and I'm actually supposed to look at the monstertech version instead? :) The button box itself looks frickin' amazing and I'd love to have one!
  15. This happens very often in MP for me, which is the only way I fly in DCS. No matter if it's on bigger server or our private one with one more pilot and 2 AI tanks being in the F10 map for just above somewhere around 5-10 seconds triggers this for me to a very high probability. When exiting everyone around me will see me rubber banding like craaazy while everything is redrawing so it makes my wingman or lead shit bricks for a couple of seconds until the redrawing stops. If it only had local effects I wouldn't mind but since it's affecting others it's a bit of an actual issue. Like already stated, this started with the introduction of the memory manager and has kept on going strong since then. Specs: i7 4790K@4.8GHz, 16GB RAM, GTX1080 (8GM VRAM)) with a wide veriety of driver versions always keeping up-to-date since the mem-manager was released, Separate SSD for system and DCS, Windows managed page file.
  16. I definitely think it's the Touch controllers since you can extend some individual fingers depending on what buttons you press and what not. Maybe there's compatibility with other products like captoglove or leap motion but the most common product out there must be the Touch controllers (with again like stated, capital T ;])
  17. How's the availability on the ody+? I'll be in the US next week (near DC) and was thinking of maybe picking one up. Are there any online shops with it in stock (Samsung listed that they ship on Dec 16th) that could ship it so I'd have it by next friday at the latest? :)
  18. Yes please. With a newly spawned KC-130 that can barely refuel two F/A-18's with a single bag (so roughly 24000lbs ... which is a separate anomaly/bug? depending on exact model of course it should be able to do roughly double that even if it's a KC-130H right?) it would be very very nice to have a faster and more capable refuel:er with a drouge. Right now we're kinda forced to spawn an armada of KC-130's if we go the ME-only route or what I currently do; IL-78 with MOOSE AATACAN-beacon attached, I'd rather go something more plausible like the KC-135BDA.
  19. I'd suggest joining up with an online squadron and take part in mission nights with fun and proper planning. It adds a new dimension to the game, even tho DCS MP is ... lets put it nicely and use the word finicky ;) (But if the mission maker knows his/her stuff most of the very varied fauna of MP-bugs can be avoided)
  20. ooooh, right. right! Thanks for explaining and I'd agree with your solution if that's the technical limitation. Great stuff!
  21. Agreed backspace! Mix this "not a bug"-report with how controls now reacts for, let's say the APU where you with a WH throttle two-position flip switch still requires to do a flip up and down physically to get a single flip up or down in-game and you quickly end up in a equation where potato != potato ;) (I don't mean the initial not-knowing-what-position-the-switch-is-in "issue", it's a constant thing that's repeatable during a the whole flight and applies to any two-way switch in combination with APU, hook down, radar/baro-alt and all kinds on switch mappings) Consistency might be a good thing here.
  22. I'll join the choir of ppl praising the HMD with VR. Super intuitive to use, awesome functionality and just pure awesomeness all around. What feels weird and what does introduce head-aches (due to right eye being very strained) for me is the focal plane where the reticle is rendered, which is basically like a foot to basically the distance from your eyes to the UFC whatever that might be :) It might be true to how it is IRL, I wouldn't know ... but if it could be rendered a bit further out or even in infinity I feel the eye-strain would lessen quite a bit, at least for me. As of now I only have it on right when I "have" to use it and not a second more.
  23. Which is in all fairness is fantastic for a streamed media. Sure, DCS is fairly low-bitrate friendly with little to no foliage and large flat surfaces in comparison to many fps:es for example. OT: I haven't streamed in like 1½ years but the hankerin' sure is coming back. Currently I'm just testing out my old 2-pc setup (classic non-capture card setup by sending a QuickSync-based stream (so neither CPU nor GPU won't be taxed by the encoding) in ~50000kbit/s to my secondary computer running linux with nginx/ffmpeg that transcodes from 50k down to 6k and sending it to the ingest (well, 3k since I haven't streamed since they upped the soft-max to 6k)) and I do suspect it won't handle transcoding 1080p@60 in any way shape or form :D Who said you can't have fun while making it overly complicated ... :)
