I couldn't resist either and bought a set and an additional third sensor yesterday. I took the safe route and ordered a separate USB PCI-e card and everything. Crossing my fingers and hoping for a speedy delivery ^_^

I fly as "Bamse" on the server. The name was already taken here on the forums, hence the extra "The" :) I was on the server the evening before (CEST) making the last post and also yesterday evening. Can't remember if it happened yesterday tho. From my point of view no changes are necessary at all, it really doesn't matter. I was just a bit confused :)

Question regarding Skynets kill messages. When successfully killing someone with a 530D from the Mirage I get the kill message that says a "MatraMagic" or "MagicMatra" was used (can't remember which). What's the ordnance type reported if you kill someone with the actual Magic II?

Damn son! Prayers really do get answered sometimes :D

rrohde: Is there any way we Europeans can order through the NA store? Waiting for EU availability through flightsimcontrols is like waiting for paint to be produced, canned, blended with the correct pigments, then get shipped to a warehouse in Siberia, then shipped to a warehouse in Europe .... then you need watch it dry for a couple of months with no status updates what so ever in the mean time ;P

How do I clear an entry in DSMS using KB & Mouse?
TheBamse replied to GazAce's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
1. I assume you mean GBU12? :) 2. Typing in any number really really should do it. If it's not then something is borked. Clear button only clears the scratch pad, not the entered entry. Only way to change an entry is to overwrite it with something else. -
Can't agree more. Then handling is quite different for precision work after the patch.

Negative. CCD in the Litening II is B&W. It's a single chip CCD, not a 3CCD or even a simpler Bayer filter that would be required for color. I am, however, struggling to find what version the color-CCD was added to, but according to this source it's in the LITENING G5 which is very very new and I cannot find and info on if it's officially fielded yet,; http://aviationweek.com/paris-air-show-2015/rafael-unveiling-litening-5-reccelite-xr This article explicitly says color is an upgrade in G5 from the G4, so the regular II-version certainly won't have it if the article is right; https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/rafael39s-litening-pod-to-gain-air-to-air-capability-408161/

PicksKing Modded Texture Compilation PMTC V2.2
TheBamse replied to PicksKing's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
It's a visually very VERY nice looking pack, it still however is very hard to see targets with the A-10C TGP when using WHOT/BHOT-modes. If it wasn't for that detail this would be my go-to pack for sure! -
Not ready-to-go afaik. Thrustmaster have their MFD's but it's just an empty frame that you will need to either tape to a desktop monitor or smaller more portable (and more expensive) monitors. There are many examples if you google it.

So, here's a few screenshot I took in a hurry. First off, CCD on a SA-6 radar: http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/80340220916457511/F7B15899C94E6B176A32B8C970C6309723B6EA6B/ PMTC FLIR WHOT: http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/80340220916487087/02BCC055521ACA1558B4C25841B1F1CEA103CDE7/ BarWays FLIR WHOT: http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/80340220916457677/E76345719F714E812A187D55869C61D2F4DC67E5/ Barthek v10 FLIR WHOT: http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/80340220916512456/AC9BBEF1B950CB92C7EE3B98A522A2C94908F138/ Barthek v7 FLIR WHOT: http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/80340220916528813/E2911B3A7BF93C3B35A09EDE913CF0EFD8BC1FC8/ And yes, BarWays passes IC :)

No-one is mocking you, chillax bro. It's just that it wasn't super clear that you meant the in-menu images and not the ones under the actual pylons. Those are indeed not there when in-game. -
Am I crazy? Is the A-10C learning curve too steep for first plane?
TheBamse replied to Burgo38's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
This is not a post to gloat or anything, it's just a post from my perspective. I started my DCS career about a month ago or so (already had the TrackIR for use with ArmA3) by going kinda all in. Bought the A-10C, a TMW (and a pair of VKB T-rudders Mk.IV that arrived two weeks later) and just jumped right in there in an instant mission. I had only watched a few videos online on how to do things prior to getting into the cockpit and to be very frank I was able to jump in, do a shaky gun run and after some work landed a GBU-38 and a maverick on what I was looking at in the TGP and then land the thing on the first try. I've still not botched a single landing when I got good controls and fairly good weather (VFR more or less) and that was even when using the TMW without any pedals (using Q/E for rudder when you want both hands on stick/throttle during final is no fun :P). Of course I've crashed a few times but that was when missing part of a wing or something quite a bit more drastic like a completely no-vis landings etc. Granted, I have quite the amount of hours (1700-ish) in ArmA3 that might've helped to at least get a very rudimentary feeling for sensitive maneuvering etc etc. The A-10C is quite easy to fly and to easy to learn the basic things in. The real beauty (imo) is that there is bunch of different systems that you can do all kinds of fun things in and spend a long time in to master if you are willing to. There are however very good spot-tutorials on youtube that you can watch one by one that summarizes the FM very nicely in fewer words. I've never even read the FM, I've learned only by youtube and the ingame tutorial that I ran like a week after I started flying and testing on my own and I'm after about two weeks very comfortable to comfortable creating my own flightplan in the CDU, datalinking, multiple markpoint bomb/AGM-runs, triangulating SAM rough location with the help of RWR etc. Just make sure to give yourself space and time for the different setups, don't force yourself off the ground before you have a very clear idea what you purpose of being in the air is .. or try to panic a few mark points and turning in really fast to defeat whatever is there. Set everything up properly, breath and give it a proper try. If it feels very slow and you basically just have to sit and wait for your mark, runway or whatever ... you're doing things correctly in my book :) My point is: there's alot of GREAT help out there and the A-10C really lets you do what you want if you'll only let it! Then enter a PvP-server and prepare to cry for a few hours .... but that's part 2 of the story! :D -
one of the classics is this one; https://us.novationmusic.com/launch/launchpad-mini But as said you will need a midi-to-key/joy mapping software. Not many programs outside of DAWs will handle raw midi input.

Using bartheks GTM 7.0 made a helluva difference for me. I've always been using Starways and PMTC but switching to bartheks' just made all the difference. Even tho everything might not be as pretty as before (especially when running PMTC) I do value being able to operate higher than general eye-candy :)
