Thanks for the reply, and totally understand your situation. Probably few sources available for the technical data to make an accurate model.

Perhaps this is the real problem then. AvioDev is Spanish and may have issues getting the information needed to develop the more advanced versions.
  3. Thank God, the good old days have left us !
  4. We need the F-111 in this sim.
  5. Thanks for the info. Looks like Mig 19 will be my next module. Let the gloryhounds have the F-14 :)
  6. So, will there be a English cockpit version of this ?
  7. What about multicore support ?
  8. Performance update: Have been flying the F-86 for the major part since I got the 5k+ The game runs fluent and smooth in normal view. Just tried the F-18 however, and the game now has below acceptable frame rate and I can not recommend this module with the extra juice needed for the 5k+ This leads me to conclude that it is the Windows and DCS on a SSD that gives me the performance needed, rather than the 1080. The F-18 has a lot more systems to process and I think it is the mostly single core limit of DCS that is holding it back. Try the F-86, it's great

Hope you include the Iraqi version of the F1. If you look at your customers that come from all over the world, it is really the Exocet/Super 530, F1, that is famous. It will also be the version that offers the most versatile gameplay. There will shortly be 2 middle eastern maps on offer. It will be a tragedy to have the F1 without Exocet I this in these maps. Bring out the "Saddam Special" and the module will be a lot more attractive to me and other players.
  10. You are partially right here in saying that a 1080 is not good enough (and I agree) However, my point is that a 2080ti is still not good enough, so I am not spending on that. I will only spend that kind of money if I know that I pass the performance threshold. That is why I say I will wait for ED to upgrade the engine, to see what kind of gfx card I need. One thing I want to mention; My machine is pro built gamer from ca 1,5 years ago. Both Windows and DCS is installed on a fast SSD drive. I thus get zero hard drive lag/stutter. And yeah, I can overclock the whole thing but leave it stock just to have a quiet machine.
  11. People had a bit of recent money in headsets back then, saying that none of them including my own was good enough, only the good we could get at the time, was against general opinion. I think VR- players today are looking for something new, and for me the 5k+ is that. I said that I would trow away my Pimax 4k as soon as there was a better system. Yesterday I gave the 4k to a friend. The plan is to lure him to play DCS so I get a wingman :smilewink: As to performance, I get decent frame rates when in fair weather and not to many things to render on the ground, or perhaps it is so that you just don't see the stutters under these conditions. Everyones opinion varies as to what is acceptable performance, so remember that I was born in olden times, and have played flight sims on 486 computers. Your mileage may wary. Either way, the 5k+ has been huge fun and for me, when you compare the price to say a monitor or a gfx card, it's a no brainer.
  12. Not really into helicopters (the way I fly them gives me nausea:) However I get decent frame rates in areas that have few trees and buildings to render. The game is totally playable on my 1080. Sadly, I think, upgrading the gpu will see little effect. The limitation for this game is the cpu, and I think we will have to wait for ED to upgrade the graphics engine to see major improvements. In the past I got some flak here at this forum because I said no current vr headset was a "threshold system" The 5k+ has 2 MAJOR improvements on previous headsets: In the past I complained that "the bubble of clear view" or sweet spot was too small. This made it difficult to track a target, as you had to keep the target within a narrow area of the headset to follow it. The sweet spot on the 5k+ is HUGE compared to the other alternatives. The field of view is also as we know much better on the 5k+, and when you combine the two, you have a headset that is superior in every way when it comes to dogfights, the most fun part of flight sims for me. So now instead of playing the game once a month, I try and get a flight in as soon as I can get the time.
  13. Just got mine, and i have to say that it is great. Restored my faith in the whole VR-thing again. Only have a 1080. framerates are to low, but it helps to fly slow aircraft (messerspit) as opposed to fast jets. All in all the 5k+ is so good, it will get me back into flight sims again. Huge fun, cant wait to try again.
  14. 4420, looks like location matters more than number as they are shipping in bulk to distributors.
  15. My order has shipped from a UK location. Wil i wet my self from exitement in the next few days ?
  16. Might as well wait then. Do not think we will be far off Q2 when they deliver.
  17. Just a question, have any of you backers heard anything about when the base stations will be delivered ?
  18. I am at 4400something and was told that my 5k+ is shipping. No tracking number yet.
  19. A channel flipper eh. God i hate that.
  20. Thanks for the insight. The case for the 5k+ is only getting stronger, maybe we can get the hand tracking module for the difference. This kickstarter project har given a good upside. AND, preorder is up at 699,-
  21. Is that a problem ?
  22. But why let simulator fundamentalists get in the way of fun ? It is all about making it competitive against F-18 in multiplayer for me. The real thing looks at least 3 years out to me, an they will still have to model the Mica at that time.
  23. Yet it is a magnitude lesser effort than a full -5. And if you want full realism you can join a server that does not allow the mica. choice is not a bad word.
  24. How about faking it ? Simply allow the player to use the the mica in single player. And let the server allow the missile in multiplayer. Sometimes it is right to make compromises to allow for competitive gameplay, and the real deal seems to be years away.
