I would be O.K. with current clouds if they didn't spin in a circle when I tilt my head.

The Gazelle is probably the lowest to the ground seat position of all the aircraft in DCS, and it's very noticeable; like sitting in a helicopter go kart. Sit in the Mi -8 then sit in the Gazelle.

Yeah, the trees don't look that great. It would be nice if they looked like real trees and swayed like real trees, and a few leaves would blow off when hovering around them in a helicopter. I would gladly trade dust for a few leaves blowing off the trees.

Sling loading one of those things that current simulations can't replicate very well, because it relies on visual and kinetic dexterity. You have to develop a "feel" for it while at the same time have immediate visual cues. In game you just don't have enough feedback to keep up. It would be awesome if you could.

Turn up the Pixel Density.

Keep track of your decent rate, slow down a little each time and make note of what rate you stop damaging the cargo, then you'll know. :pilotfly:

A separate map for each of the 50 states.

I had a HDD failure and couldn't even access the disk. I knew how many hours I had, and decided to create a database to track them. I can't recall how many times I've been promoted to Lt. Col. lol :pilotfly:

Some runways don't have papi lights. Lachini's 31L has papi lights, but 31R doesn't.:pilotfly:

I would like the UH-60 Blackhawk. It's modeled as an AI only right now, and looks great.

Did you save it in the same format as the original file? I mean with the same file extension? NotePad uses .txt by default, so you want to open the file using the *.* option and save it in the original format. I use a database to log my hours, because DCS doesn't maintain a record on a server anywhere(I have the non-Steam version), so if I have to reinstall DCS for any reason the logbook starts over.

If you make a longer, slower approach and slow the aircraft gradually while making precise correction, the shake isn't as bad. With enough practice you'll develop the ability to land smoothly more quickly, but there's always going to be some shake in a helicopter, especially the Huey.

I've noticed that they're not always the same; sometimes you land on a building right on the roof or a little above it and sometimes you fall through. May have something to do with updates IDK. I remember being able to land on the hardened aircraft bunkers at some point, now that's possible at some fields but at others you settle through them and your rotors get messed up.

So some roofs have the box drawn to the top of the parapet, while others have it drawn to the bottom of the parapet.

So the "hitbox" is a solid polygon? :pilotfly:

It's not just the water, fields look much more realistic than they used to.

O.K. Will you elaborate on this?:detective:

Refurbished desktop ideas?

For $700 U.S. you can build a new system off Amazon or Newegg. Get a X570 MB w/AM4 socket, and an entry level AMD processor like the AMD 3400g or AMD 2600. You can upgrade later all the way up to the Ryzen 9 3950x on the AM4 socket. You won't have much of an upgrade option with a referb. -
I quit playing the campaign, because of how buggy the logic is.

Yep, as stated, you have to set the Hi/Lo to a value greater than 0 or the Radar Altimeter will not come on.

I've noticed that the "heights" of some objects are correct and some aren't. Not only that, but objects have their heights set differently each time I run DCS Huey. Example sometimes while landing on the silo at Lochini my skids will be all the way down on the surface of the silo, while other times they'll be about a foot above the surface. Same is true for other objects. Just a theory, but I think there could be a correlation with density altitude, if temp and humidity is different then object height is different. Probably not, but it's the only thing I can think of that should be dynamic that way(density altitude I mean), not that objects should be set according to density altitude, but something is affecting object height in a seemingly random manner.

Bit of a nooby question about inbound on landing....
LuckyFromArma replied to Spirit X's topic in DCS 2.9
If you want to figure out exactly how long it will take you to fly the 27 miles you can use an E6B flight computer(it has instructions on it). Anyway, if you follow ATC' instructions(turn to and fly the heading they give you at pattern altitude) once you're abeam of the ADF, ATC will contact you and clear you for Visual Approach. At that point you're at the airfield and you can easily pick out and enter the traffic pattern from visual reference(check the airfield chart for pattern info). Enter the pattern, turn base to final, once on final you can request landing and ATC will clear you for landing on the active runway. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.:pilotfly: -
I've only downloaded the Gazelle and the Mi -8. I have to say, the Huey is hands down the best, although the Mi -8 is a lot like the Huey only super sized.

Is there any interest in a low cost collective
LuckyFromArma replied to Thick8's topic in DCS: UH-1H
Yes definitely yes :worthy:
