  1. Just been reading about the limitations of Iceman currently in the module, with him basically being a basic autopilot and is extremely limited in what he can do. While I understand developing two impressive AI in time for the EA, would have been a massive undertaking and quite likely would delay the module by some bit. This obviously causes quite an issue for those of us who want to learn the Rio role. How for example are we meant to practice, cold and dark startups, landings, fence in, fence out, radar intercepts etc. I know technically we could keep jumping in between the seats during different stages of the flight, although this would be incredibly annoying and very immersive breaking. Not to mention adding significantly to the work load of the trainee Rio, who would have to learn BOTH roles at the same time, which is a awful lot to ask of anyone, let alone someone who’s trying to learn one of the most advanced radar systems ever developed. The only other option is waiting until your pilot comes online, but again Rios will now be restricted to flying only when others are on which will again significantly reduce the amount of time they can practise. So just wondering if anyone has a solution to this issue?
  2. But But But, they have it running fine in that video, so it’s ready NOW. Why do we need to wait until the 13th. RELEASE IT NOW. ;) ;) ;) ;)
  3. Great balls of fire. A Date, we have a date.
  4. It looked fantastic, even more impressed now I’ve found out that apparently it was filmed in Multicrew. So it’s the first look at Working Multicrew in a complicated aircraft in DCS. Looked smooth as anything, and working well, which is extremely exciting for the future of Multicrew in DCS. So ummm anyway, Jabbers. Now that HB has shown off the Rio cockpit, will this mean a video from your side. ;) ;)
  5. cheers mate, guess that’s what I get for reading posts on nights and half asleep. Ok then, in that case. I’m still saying the 15th, purely because I’m a stubborn git.
  6. Just stunning, cannot wait to learn this seat. Hell im more excited to be pressing buttons, than flying this iconic aircraft.
  7. Really I could have sworn the post stated the updates were being moved to Fridays to give them more time. Although I’ll be damned if I can find that post from earlier this week now, so there is a fair chance I could be wrong. Fingers crossed
  8. Guess Heatblur has heard you.
  9. Lol glad I’m not the only one. Really haven’t got much interest in the mig, However who on earth wants black and white icons on their front screen, so she’s now purchased. Got to have the hangar full, even if I do still have quite a few on there, that I still haven’t flown.
  10. Well then, guess she will be landing on the 15th. My reasons are as follows, A. Open Beta updates now moved to a Friday from a Wednesday. B. Historically we only get a Open Beta update every two weeks, as it alternates between Beta and Stable. C. Last Friday before end of winter. May get surprised by a special update, which would be nice. IF we miss end of winter, Friday the 29th is a very good release date. ;) ;) ;) Oh and my Bday. :D
  11. This. It’s the one feature this module is screaming for. The ultimate Easter egg.
  12. Ummmm, think you made a mistake mate. You’ve misspelt rear seat as Front seat. ;)
  13. Diamondback Ordered. Very pleasant surprise, as completly forgot I ordered a pack with a T-shirt. :D
  14. Damn what a meltdown this post is suddenly having. I can see the future now, ED gives in and releases the F14. The next month of posts will be the same people complaining that the F14 has bugs, and What are ED doing, it wasn’t ready for release. Damned if they do, Damned if they don’t. ED / HB please do not give in, do not release if there are issues that need to be fixed. Do this right, she’s gonna be amazing, we will be flying her for years to come, and from all accounts she’s gonna push DCS In terms of technology. To be honest, I’m actually quite happy about this situation and the fact ED are communicating with us on here, as it’s meaning we are getting a better idea of just how much work goes into making sure the Modules are stunning. This can only be a positive thing for the future.
  15. Well due to work commitments, I’ve not been able to fly for around 4 weeks. Managed to jump back on here, so thought I would do a few landings on the carrier to blow off the cobwebs. After 2 hrs I had achieved NOT ONE successful landing. I knew I would be rusty but damn I wasn’t expecting to lose all my skills. I had gotten to the point where I was landing pretty consistently. Just shows how often you need to practice those landings. Ahh well back to the drawing board and try try again. Well it’s either a rusty, or just a completely rubbish pilot. :dunno::dunno:
  16. On a different note. How many here have ended up purchasing other Metor albums after hearing them on here. Never heard of the guys before this. Now I own every album of theirs. I’ve yet to find a bad track. Everything these guys have done is just mind blowing.
  17. There’s a tape player in the Viggen??? Really must read the manual and learn that aircraft. That sounds cool
  18. But isn’t that what Jester and Iceman are for? You choose what seat you’re gonna use and the AI takes the other. I don’t think it’s designed for you to keep jumping from seat to seat, would as you state make things very complicated.
  19. Wow I spend a few days away from the forum, and it’s gone into meltdown. Now people may call me a white Knight if you want, personally I couldn’t care less. However HB are damned if they do, damned if they don’t. I’m sure if they wanted to, they could have given us all access to the F14 a few months ago, when the YouTube streamers got it. HOWEVER it wouldn’t be complete, it would be missing some major features, like the Rio seat and I’m guessing would still have a number of bugs. IF they had done that, these very forums would have a meltdown, accuse them of not doing a good job and releasing too early, taking their money for false promises etc etc. The 2nd option which is the one the6 have gone for, is to wait and make sure the aircraft is as compete as they can make it, get all of the major features implemented and working and the majority of the bugs fixed. Granted I know there will still be some bugs and missing features, but I doubt any will be major, and yet here we are, the forums are having a meltdown, accusing them of not doing a good job, and taking their money for false promises etc etc. It’s no wonder we see developers stopping development for this platform time and again. HB has been open from the start, they give frequent updates and are very active interacting with us on the forums. What else do you all want from these guys. EVERYTHING they have shown, or the you tubers with access has shown has been amazing, and it’s looking like the F14 isn’t going to just be yet another module, but a ground breaking module that will significantly increase the standard in DCS By which modules are judged. Yes from time to time there has been concerns about features, I myself posted a concern only last week after reading a article about the F14 and the state of the Rio seat. Cobra took the time himself out of his busy period to address that concern, and stated that the article itself was incorrect and we shouldn’t worry. Hell we then had footage of said seat only 48 houtprs later showing it working. Now that’s service. My personal opinion is HB should take the time to do this correctly, if they miss the 20th so be it, these things happen. I’m after a Experiencing a new ground breaking direction with this module, mainly a fully working Multicrew experience of a complex aircraft. That has NEVER been done before. Hell hopefully if they pull it off and I’m sure they will, we might finally get the promised Multicrew feature for the Huey and MI8.
  20. Just wondering, if there will be an option to turn OFF the switch highlighting once you’ve learnt the cockpit. I appreciate this is an assistance startup, but wouldn’t the crew talk and use checklists normally during different phases of the flight anyway. By having an option to turn off the highlighter, it would be so so much more immersive and make you feel more like a double crew. Also can you talk to Jester like this in other phases of flight and run checklists. After takeoff, fence in, and landing checklists for example?
  21. :O Just like that sales of Voice Attack goes through the roof. I have been resisting purchasing it for months as never really saw a need for the program. Darn thing is now downloading and installing. ;) Thankyou HB, you truly are developing a groundbreaking module here, that has to be one of the if not the best video for DCS I’ve ever seen. Will the Voice attack profile you guys have used be included with the module, or if not any chance you could make it avalible on the forums? There is however one problem with this video. Up until 30 mins ago, I was 110% dedicated to being a full time RIO, HOWEVER this system is screaming at me now to jump into the front seat just to interact with Jester via voice.
  22. I’m gonna guess mid to late March still. ED tends to take a while doing the final approval as I guess they test pretty much everything which takes time. Might be lucky and get a date by end of this week, but I do think we still have a few weeks to go yet. Anything earlier is a bonus.
  23. Tease. So ummm where are the vids then. ;)
  24. Wow, the main man himself has answered. Thankyou Cobra I knew you wouldn’t let us down. It was just a shock to read it in the article that’s all. Got this future Rio all in a panic. Says it would be full Multicrew for the final release, but certainly makes it sound like it wasn’t anywhere near ready for day 1. Thankyou very very much for clarifying. If any Mods are reading this, you might as well lock this thread down as it now has no purpose being here.
  25. Hi guys, so yesterday, my latest issue of PC Pilot turned up in the post. https://pcpilot.keypublishing.com/the-magazine/online-content/?ID=7970 While generally it’s a great article and states what we already know, that she’s highly detailed and has a stunning flight model, one comment has got me slightly concerned. They state the RIO position still has a lot of work to do, and suggests that the Multicrew functionality WONT be avalible when the aircraft is initially released. Now I don’t know how true this is, or if it’s just a case that their review copy was rather outdated, and it certainly goes against the updates and the statements from Heatblur that the RIO Multicrew has been working for a while. Although we do know they are still working on the RIO position. I know certainly from my point of view, the aircraft NOT being released with a working and functional Multicrew element would be a massive disappointment, especially as the RIO position is the one I’m most looking forward to. I’m sure others here from our community will also get PC Pilot, so have a read and let me know if I’m reading too much into it. Oh and if HB themselves read this thread, Please Please Please put my mind at rest.
