  1. Even though I get this free with the module, or can download for free from the site itself. Bought it for $5 just to show my appreciation for Metors work on this. Also purchased their entire collection as well.
  2. This video was stunning, really goes in depth into the radar and several other taskings for the Rio, I learnt quite a bit from it. Will certainly be watching again several times to fully understand the systems involved. A must watch video for ALL potential Rios.
  3. :megalol: Ahhh you know you’re flying poorly when Jester runs away. That made my day. :megalol::megalol:
  4. Guys, at no point in my post did I state ED WILL NOT transfer our points to the new system, I just asked if my understanding of it was correct, which since the post doesn’t mention any transfer but a expiration date being implemented some time in 2019 is that they would disappear after that date. Please don’t get yourselves all wound up and upset at the moment, because there is a fair chance I have understood it wrong. Hence the question with 2 options. Will our points disappear or will they transfer them to the new system? I’m hoping ED will see this and provide us with a clear yes / no answer. Please I don’t want this to turn into a pitchforks at dawn post, as at the moment we are only assuming what the discription means.
  5. It is tough, personally I’m going RIO, purely and simply because it’s something new. It’s a crew position we have never had in the history of DCS yet, and it will make a nice change learning completely new set of skills. Sure flyings fun and all. Hell its the main reason we are all here, but flying is flying, it’s the same set of skills on every module, apart from learning different startups mfd usage, radio usage, stick and throttle is pretty much the same on most aircraft. Being an effective Rio however has never been seen before, with such a complex radar system as the one fitted to the F14, it will take a while to master. Oh but you know I’ll give flying her a go as well.
  6. Now that’s how you do a music video. Just stunning guys
  7.:thumbup: This just keeps getting better each day.
  8. Not sure about that. Would mean I would have to build yet another screen to look like the F14 radar.:thumbup: All joking apart, while it would be smaller than normal, getting the exports onto my MFD screens would be rather helpful
  9. Hi guys, I have to say I’m very happy to read in today’s newsletter that the bonus system is being overhauled. Sadly the current one is rather difficult to use with many of us having large amount of bonus points sat on our account that we cannot use as we already have all the products. I myself have $68 valid until 2020, although I was able to use $15 on the new mig last week which was a nice surprise. Am I right in my understanding of this, that when the new program goes live however, any remaining bonus points WILL NOT be transferred over to this new system and we will all start with a clean slate, regardless of the current expiration date on our account? Or will you show loyalty to your customers and transfer whatever amount of bonus points they currently have across to the new miles system, so the fact that people were loyal before the new system do not miss out on the changeover? I’m not complaining either way, but figured I would ask the question now, as it isn’t completly clear on the newsletter, and I’m guessing many may wonder about the same thing. Eagle Dynamics Loyalty Program Following a lengthy client satisfaction review of our existing Bonus Program, we are delighted to announce the new DCS World Loyalty Program. This will replace the Bonus Program and will provide a simpler way to earn rewards and more freedom to use them! ED Miles are similar in many ways to airline miles and can be earned/awarded and used as follows: Regardless if a product has just been released, is already on sale or in pre-purchase, you will always earn ED Miles on the price you paid for the purchase. For each purchase, you will earn 10% of the Purchase Price in ED Miles. As an example: if you purchase something for USD 29.99 you will be awarded 2990 ED Miles worth USD 2.99 on the DCS World e-Shop. You can use ED Miles to purchase any product participating in the program, regardless if they are just released, already on sale, or as a pre-purchase! There is no limit on the number of ED Miles you can use for a purchase. If you have enough ED Miles, you can even pay for an entire product just using ED Miles. ED Miles earned are valid for three calendar years from the time of your last DCS World e-Shop purchase. Existing Bonus points will expire in 2019 on a date to be confirmed. Note that ED Miles cannot be redeemed for cash or any other conversion, and a list of 3rd parties participating in the program will be provided at launch
  10. Thankyou very much. Really is appreciated, will give it a go tomorrow.
  11. Cheers mate, I’ve managed to get a mission kinda working. Certainly the tacans are now appearing for both the tanker and Stennis, which is a start. Just struggling with getting the tanker to show up in the radio menu at the moment. But I’m not giving up. I’ll get this even if it kills me
  12. hi Guys and gals, just wondering can someone please have a look at this mission and tell me where im going wrong. I cannot for the love of me get the tanker to show up on the radio menu. 251.000 AM, ive tried changing the presets for the aircraft, tried manual tuning, tried both radios in the F18, even tried changing the tanker from a C130 to an S3. but the darn thing refuses to give me an option in the radio menu to select it. Tacan works great, Radio works great with the ships. Its just the tanker that im struggling with. Mission is attached below Carrier and AAR practise.miz
  13. Hi guys and gals, I need help, I am not the brightest spark out there, and while i can cope with learning the aircraft systems in DCS, when it comes to the mission editor, I am fully out of my depth. All i'm after doing is setting up a simple training mission with 3 x MP hornets on the deck of the stennis that also looks busy with static aircraft onboard, a tanker somewhere so we can practise AAR, and multiple targets that DON'T shoot back at the moment, to allow me and my mates to practise our radar intrigation and data sharing. Having weather would also be nice. However where do i start. I did make a mission with just the carrier and tanker, but couldn't get any of the tacans working, which made things rather difficult, Weather i just gave up on. I keep seeing people talk about Moose, Mist, scripts etc, and despite sitting here trying to read about it on the forums, watching videos etc, its just not going in. Any help and advice would be very very greatfully received.
  14. Cheers for all the offers guys, they are much appreciated. I will keep an eye open for you all online. Shifts are 6 on 3 off. Earlies, lates, nights and days and a mixture of 8, 10 and 12 hr days. But the best part is, work can change them depending on the services needs up to 48hrs before hand. Makes arranging anything, or having a social life almost impossible.
  15. Don’t worry mate, I didn’t take it personally.
  16. Oh that’s fair enough, I’m not saying you shouldn’t run Stable, just stating that personally I’ve not had any issues. For myself the fact we get access to the new modules earlier than stable in OB, outweighs any bugs that may creep in for me personally.
  17. EVERYTHING gets released on OB first. It’s the way it’s always been, so I honestly doubt this would be different. It’s the main reason I only run OB, and too be honest, I’ve not seen any difference in crashes or bugs compared to release apart from I get the updates quicker.
  18. Don’t see why not once it’s for sale at full price. I know I could use them on the mig 19 last Friday when it came out.
  19. Oh I have a buddy lined up, hell I have 2 lined up who want to be pilots. The only issue is I work shifts and they work standard days, so we are only online at the same time on a wed evening every other week.
  20. Thanks for the reply, I do appreciate that, the AI you’ve developed for Jester is already mind blowing. It’s my fault for assuming something since the Rio seat is fully developed. However a Rio mission would be very very greatfully received so we can at least practice radar intercepts.
  21. Really damn, I’ve always assumed the Iceman AI would get similar AI as Jester obviously I figured it would take time to be developed, as otherwise it pretty much wipes out any chance of us learning to be an effective Rio in SP So that news is extremely disappointing to me, considering the main reason I’ve picked up the F14 was the Rio seat. Guess I’m stuck with only using the F14 when others are online then.:cry:
  22. But from what is stated, he can only do level flying with some minor turns. He can’t Takeoff / Land, intercept targets / bomb / or do anything other than basic autopilot flying. He’s only designed to be used for short periods, while you jump into the backseat, do a quick search of radar then jump back. So not really much use at the moment for training. I’m hoping he will improve to the standard of Jester during the development, but that obviously may take a while.
  23. Just been reading about the limitations of Iceman currently in the module, with him basically being a basic autopilot and is extremely limited in what he can do. While I understand developing two impressive AI in time for the EA, would have been a massive undertaking and quite likely would delay the module by some bit. This obviously causes quite an issue for those of us who want to learn the Rio role. How for example are we meant to practice, cold and dark startups, landings, fence in, fence out, radar intercepts etc. I know technically we could keep jumping in between the seats during different stages of the flight, although this would be incredibly annoying and very immersive breaking. Not to mention adding significantly to the work load of the trainee Rio, who would have to learn BOTH roles at the same time, which is a awful lot to ask of anyone, let alone someone who’s trying to learn one of the most advanced radar systems ever developed. The only other option is waiting until your pilot comes online, but again Rios will now be restricted to flying only when others are on which will again significantly reduce the amount of time they can practise. So just wondering if anyone has a solution to this issue?
  24. But But But, they have it running fine in that video, so it’s ready NOW. Why do we need to wait until the 13th. RELEASE IT NOW. ;) ;) ;) ;)
  25. Great balls of fire. A Date, we have a date.
