  1. Ahhhh bugger, missed the chance to try the most wanted feature for years. On bright side, it doesn’t get a better confirmation that they truly are working on it, and not just saying what we want to hear.
  2. Hi all, I’ve been offered the chance to grab a Virpil Warbrd Bass with Cosmosim cams to replace my 3 YO warthog base. I was just wondering if it would be worth it, The Warthog is working fine but I’m led to understand the internals of the Virpil of better quality and allow more finer movements while flying. I’ve never heard of the Cosmosim cams so will need to do homework on that one. But basically for those of you using this type of setup, would it be worth it?
  3. Ok, I appreciate that it wasn’t meant to be released, and I fully appreciate that there are quite a few bugs, BUT please Ed Please let us test and bug find for you guys now it’s out. Don’t take it away with the next patch, but allow us to help you improve and refine it. We have been waiting so long for this, I am happy to use it REGARDLESS of issues.
  4. After a few years away, yes I’m sorry I was seduced by the soft lines and speed of the F18, F16 and even the harrier, but with the new update I came back to see how this ol girl could stand up to the new crowd. What can I say, for A2G, there truly isn’t a finer aircraft in DCS. Sure she’s slow, and maybe she’s not the prettiest lass out on the ramp, but she can stay up for ages, feels like a lifetime compared to the others, can carry a stack load of goodies, again significantly more than anyone else out there, her sensors are just sublime to use, easy, fast and everything to links perfectly together. Makes delivering the payload smooth and crisp, certainly compared to the Harrier the sensor controls are night and day. What else is there to say, the original is still the best at ground pounding. I instantly felt back at home, compared to feeling rushed and vulnerable in the other jets, I actually felt sorry for the poor tankers on the ground. Just taking my time, picking them off one by one, jdams, LGBs, Mavericks. It didn’t matter what I used, everything just worked. And if or should I say when, they did manage to score a hit on me, instead of throwing her teddies out of the pram, and everything breaking like other faster aircraft I could fly, she just shrugged it off, and said is that all you got. Damn. Forgotten how much I love this aircraft.
  5. Thanks for that, but I should have stated, I already have my Hotas mounted and setup on a wheel stand pro, which allows me to easily swap out the throttle for a collective when I fly helos, so I’m looking for a STANDALONE desk mounting solution for the MFDs. I have seen a great triple MFD mount by Foxxy Mounts, but again sadly that looks like it mounts to his Hotas mount, rather than being standalone. Thankyou for the suggestion however.
  6. Hi all, despite having my MFDs currently mounted to a 12” screen placed halfway across my desk, I’m finding that I’m flying VR exclusively now after getting the Rift S. As such, the 2nd screen the MFDs are now mounted on is pretty redundant as I can’t see the darn thing anymore. I’m thinking It would now make more sense to remove the MFDs from this screen and mount them on the leading edge of my desk, so they are in the correct position when I’m looking about in VR, and subsequently be easier to use as I hopefully I’ll be able to train myself to reach for the right point in space while in VR. I was wondering if anyone has found a good solution to mount their MFDs like this, as I’m sure many of you using VR may have done something similar?
  7. Added automatically when you go to your cart. $24.99 for F18 owners
  8. I agree it shouldn’t be sold on steam, as it causes more issues than it’s worth. Yes Steam is a thing, hell I have a good 80+ games on it myself, but everytime a module comes out, everytime there’s a sale, everytime a module is released its the same old story, where those backers like yourself who use DCS on Steam get left behind and to be fair rightly annoyed. But since it happens everytime can anyone honestly state they are surprised now when it happens. Personally I would recommend everyone to only use the standalone version and purchase direct from the store to avoid this, but people want choice and sadly this is the drawback. I’m sure ED will sort out what’s going on with Steam eventually, I mean they usually do, but it just takes a few days
  9. To be fair, Steam owners have ALWAYS had to wait longer than those who buy direct from store or for the discounts. It’s the same for every single module and always have been, so how on earth is it a surprise that you have to wait for the discount to become live. IF you want all the discounts, the modules etc as early as possible, then it’s just common sense to only use the Beta version and purchase direct from the DCS store.
  10. Like others, it’s a day 1 purchase for me. Ed are bringing one of the most immersive carrier experiences ever seen on a home computer, now the best thing is it’s entirely optional, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna miss out.
  11. Cheers guys, will try that tomorrow and let you all know.
  12. There is, but sadly the problem is still there whether this is ticked or not
  13. Hi guys, just wondering if anyone else is having issues using the CV1 headphones and DCS after updating to the latest Oculus Patch? Before the patch everything worked fine, now however the audio works on the headset right upto the point I load into DCS. At that point I lose all audio through the headset. IF I use external speakers only the audio works fine, if I exit DCS I get audio back through the rift. I’ve tried setting it up so the pc only uses the rift headset exclusively but again all works fine right upto the point I enter DCS.. I’m at a complete loss at what to try next, I’m guessing it’s some kind of audio pass through issue. Just wondering if any other CV1 users have the same issue, or is it purely me.
  14. I don’t think people want more. They just want what was promised years ago when we pre ordered the Huey in good faith. Everything stated it would have Multicrew. A Hueys crew consists of 4 positions, so naturally is not surprising that people want 4 positions. Show me where on any of the adverts, or on the shop page where it states the Huey will come with PART Multicrew. So if Multicrew is advertised on a ship with more than 2 crew, then yes I do expect that ALL positions will be useable in a MP environment.
  15.:thumbup: This. Don’t get me wrong, having a full Multicrew cockpit is great, and a huge leap forward. But it’s still not the full crew on the Huey. Having gunners, who can protect the craft and wTch the rotors and tail on tight landings and obviously the swing load would be extremely beneficial to the operation of this ship. There’s a reason a helo crew has a loadmaster in the back.
  16. Loving it completely. After cutting my combat flying teeth on a certain other F16 sim way back in the 90s, seeing this cockpit again in a sim felt like coming home. You guys did a stunning job. Yes there’s still a lot of work to do and a lot of mfd menus and systems still missing. But she already feels like a winner. Personally I’m very impressed and surprised just how quick I remembered how to use this aircraft. One very very happy customer here.
  17. Hi guys, need a hand here. Have these exporting great to my mfd screens, But I seem to have a slight issue when I’m using Tid relay on the HSD when I’m flying, in the flat I’m getting a double image on the screen. It’s almost like it’s exporting both the HSD image and the RIO TID image at the same time and over laying them on the same screen. This only happens when I’m in the front seat and select TID relay. Any ideas how to correct this so it only displays the HSD monitor in the front seat?
  18. Latest open beta version.. Look guys, don’t get me wrong I love the Huey and consider it one of the finest helo simulations ever produced, BUT after 6 years I think we have to accept that further development and any promised features that are not here by now are likely not happening. Now for those of you who still hold onto the dream that it will happen, fair play to you, you’re a hell of a lot more optimistic than me. Myself I’m now in the believe it when I see it area of this journey. All I was doing was giving MY opinion on whether or not we will get Multicrew for our Helos, which I no longer believe we will. I still fly the Huey at least twice a week, I still get immense joy out of it despite the odd bug, if they released a V2 like the KA50, I would purchase in a heartbeat. But my reply’s here are purely my opinion on the ops question.
  19. Not a false statement at all, Its my stated opinion. I do believe they have moved on, and I don’t believe they will be fixing the remaining issues or implementing Multicrew. After purchasing both modules on first day pre orders, I think it’s fair to say I have been patent. In fact it was me who mentioned the Multicrew back in 2017, and had the statement back that it was only a matter of months before it was here barring any major disasters. Since then nothing. We still have no working searchlight, the anti collision light still bleeds through the cockpit, Multicrew is still MIA, to name a few issues and all bugs that we have coped with since day one over 6 years ago. I’m not slagging off Belsimtek, and I appreciate that teams do move on, sadly before everything is complete. I fly the UH-1 frequently and if they have made bug fixes or implemented new features this year, I’ve honestly not seen anything to suggest that is the case. I’m sure we may see a Huey Mk2 somewhere down the line as it is a popular module, and I fully expect we will be asked to pay for any upgrades it comes with ala the KA50 module, but as to the one we fly now. My opinion is she’s is now the finished product, bugs and minus Multicrew
  20. Honestly, I no longer believe we will ever see Multicrew in either modules. It’s a huge pity and it was one of the major attractions to buying the modules. But Sadly I think Belsimtek has moved on. I don’t believe they have any interest in fixing any remaining bugs or implementing the still missing features of our beloved Helos. Of course if they do, I’ll place money that it would be via a V2 version that will count as a new module and therefore a new purchase, ala KA50.
  21. Thankyou for creating this mission. I found it for the first time the other day, and since then ive lost hours flying this in VR. It has to be one of the best Huey missions ive ever used. There’s something immensely satisfying flying medivac, and with the amount of take off and landing that are involved in this mission, my landings and approaches are improving significantly. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to fly slicks or just wants a break from blowing stuff up.
  22. highly recommend teh simcity mission packs. amazing immersion. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305971/
