Got mine! Installed it! 10 min max! Love it! The only thing I did was reverse the vertical axes. To me, up is back and down is forward. It's a pilot thing.

The first question that should have been asked is how many connections are you planning on servicing? First, you have to think of any I processor as a family car and the Xeon as a Mack truck. To keep the server up you'd need to set up a series of drives in a RAID. You'd need at least 64GB of memory depending on how many people your going to have on it at a time. Next up is how much bandwidth are you going to have. There's a lot of data flowing down those pipes. You can PM me if you want but I think you might be getting in over you head in both cost and experience.

ILS and ICLS do not need a course to be set. If your watching your HSI and you have the course set it looks right but you can have it 90 degrees off and the left/right needle will still show the correct path...it just won't look right. Once you've set the ILS the only other option for land base is "reverse course" in case for some reason you have to fly an ILS backwards. It reverses the left/right signals coming from the ILS system so that it looks correct on your instruments. Of course this is not an option for an ICLS unless your one of the Grimm Reapers. Bunch of crazy's with their "unconventional carrier landing" parties.

I was hoping you guys could answer a question. I have read Thrustmasters PDF on using the script editor. The first thing that confuses me is that when you want to open a new file your presented with three options .tmc, .tmh, and .ttm but no where in the PDF does it tell you what the different files are for and what they do. At first I thought the tmc file was a master file that called (included) all the tmh files that were needed to create the profile, but I see from MAIN.tmc that the only "included" files are hid.tmh and defines.tmh. That blows my first assumption out of the water. My next issue is in the very first post in this thread. It leads me to believe that you could change one number (32 to 120) and add the define lines for DX33 through DX120 and it would work. So why create a whole other file? I.E. targetdx128.tmh. Could you possibly provide a working set of files and a short explanation of how they interact with each other?

This is better than Chocolate Chip ice cream. Now I have to figure out how to assign the higher DX buttons since the don't show up in the GUI. I'm just going to read supplied file and experiment and see if I can figure it out. The last time I did anything that looked like coding it was in DOS Basic. You kids probably don't even know what that is.

I almost forgot. Does anybody know of a better replacement for the WH stick thumb switch? I've look at Digikey and Mouser but cant find one. Nor can I find a replacement for the switch at the bottom of the switch. It's the same little switch that at the heart of all the push button switchs on the WH.

Thanks guys. I got the flaps working. I just have to change the way I think about how a switch works. I did see what Supmua is talking about. While I didn't see the mapping of any of the switch's in game in the combined HOTAS column, when I went to map something I did see that a lot of the switch's were already mapped to something else. I even figured out some of the logic about the 32 DX11 switch's too. Now I have to find the post I was reading about expanding the number of DX11 switch's to something like 122.

I ordered the cables, https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Micro-ZH-1-5mm-6-Pin-JST-Connector-with-Wire-x-10-sets-New/253365092447?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649, and got these. Wrong type. The entire 6 pin connector in only 5 pins wide on the cable that I got. Guess I'll try again. I've ordered a set of 1.25mm cables.

Your right, at least for the A10. But in the F18, with TARGET running, it seems to nullify the default binding. Everything needs to be remapped in TARGET.
-
I broke down and got a HOG and now TARGET is driving me crazy setting it up for the F18.:helpsmilie: I think I already know the answer to this. Does TARGET override the in game button mapping. Since it creates a virtual HOTAS, I believe it does.:joystick: Has anybody figured out how to correctly map the Hog's flap switch correctly for Up, Half flaps, Full flaps? I figured out ON-OFF and (ON)-OFF switching but the 3 way ON-OFF-ON like the flap switch is driving me nuts. Maybe if I can figure this one out I can figure out the Eng switches ON-OFF-(ON).

I wish people would quit compounding DCS's error by calling the zoom function "FOV". If you don't know what the definition of FOV is...shut up. All you do is make it impossible to actually get DCS to program a FOV option into the programming.
-
Sorry zhukov, but zoom is not FOV. DCS may call it FOV but it's not. Check with your optometrist. When you change FOV here your eye point move fore and aft. FOV is what you can see from left to right WITHOUT moving your eye point.

I don't disagree. I have another post called "Is the Warthog worth it. A rant". But it's learning experience for me and frankly, the Virpil is, 1 to expensive, 2 I don't like the Soviet layout, and 3 my warthog stick works on top of a Virpil base. I still don't see a throttle that I like. They try to be something for everybody assuring that nobody is really happy with them. Even the Warthog throttle leaves me wanting even when I fly the A10.

Wasn't me. I bought it knowing there was something wrong with it. I just didn't expect King Kong to have taken a whack at it. If you look at my other post you'll see that the articulation ball was smashed and the CMS switch post was twisted almost in two parts. The only thing keeping it together was that the material was fibrous.:joystick:
-
Thanks Aurelius, that really helps. I thought about fixing this cable but decided to replace it because of the small area it has to pass through from behind the magnet for the HALL sensor. Also I don't have any 22 gauge wire laying around. Since i'm overhauling the rest of the stick I figured on all new parts rather than repair...in case I decide to sell it on. Can you say Virpil. You can see pic's in my other post as to the state I received this stick in.
-
As you can tell from the picture, I am in need of a new cable but. I'm hoping one of you can tell what the connector type is. I can reuse the DIN connector but I would like to purchase a new pre-wired connector, but I don't know what it is. My best guess is that it's a JST 6 pin 2.0mm PH type. Not being a hobbyist in the electronics field I really have no idea what I'm looking at and we don't seem to have any decent electronics stores in Las Vegas where I can go look at them with my own eyes.
-
Exactly what I needed, thank you. I'm going to try and find a new cable and solder it to the DIN. I've ordered replacement articulation ball and CMS switch shaft from a local 3D print company. I hope to be back in the air shortly.
-
I afraid it's no help. That's stick cabling and I need base cabling. Also, what really makes it a problem is that the PCB connector is a 6 pin but only 5 of them are used. This is one of those time when a pic is worth a thousand words. Thanks for trying.
-
Guys :helpsmilie: I purchased an untested stick and it did turn out to be non-functional.:( I got everything back together :) except for the base DIN and it cable. Three of the pins were not in the connector and I have no idea if the other two are even in the correct place. Could somebody who has their base unit apart take a pic of the DIN cable at the PCB connector.

#2289 Here comes my upgrade for the slew control from Delta. I'll have to start a new thread titled "My Journey from Lost to Warthog Nirvana"
-
Thanks for the information. I know i've got some sketchy switch's in my stick but I can't really test them until I get some replacement parts from TM and get it put back together.
-
And the hammer hits the nail H This is the bases for my rant. TM has known for years that there are problems with the WH and yet they did nothing. Nobody was asking to go back and replace all the sticks out there already but they didn't even switch to the better slew option when it was available.
