  1. Or at the very least somebody should find and beg the person who can fix and update it to come forward. My wish list has a marriage of VRNeckSafer and TrackIR. Think about it. VRNeckSafer already knows how to track your head movement within the VR environment. TrackIR knows how to move your view smoothly to where you want to look with an adjustment for how much of a ratio you want to move your view. You would no longer need the IR camera and reflectors/LED's for tracking. And instead of "snaping" your view around like VRNeckSafer, the "new" program would smoothly move your view around the way TrackIR does now and the amount of rotation would have a multiplier so that a 45 degree move left would actually leave you looking 90 degrees left. This would be adjustable the way TrackIR is now. This is an App I would pay a C note for as long as it was kept updated to work with either the DCS, Steam, Windows or where ever it would do it's magic. I cant' really see a need to "improve" it, so updating is all that would be needed on an ongoing bases.
  2. Thanks. i must have been sleeping when reading that part of the manual.
  3. Has anybody tested or know how large a turn the RB-15F can make at Bx7?
  4. Everything is good again and I can love my Viggie again. Thanks
  5. Mach meter running backwards. I start out on the ground with the Mach meter showing 9.81 and as I accelerate the meter runs backwards and I end up at @1400 KMH and Mach 8.23. I've seen it from other posters here but I'll add mine also. Manual radio freq's are way out of the line with what the manual says they should be.
  6. I checked all the options and the precise setting just shows the standard lat/long. I know can it can be changed once in the map, just letting you know there's a bug in the code someplace.
  7. I got the normal Steam page back. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I don't know myself. I got into the really big screen and setting and just started playing with the display options. At some point I shut it all down and when I restarted Steam was normal again. I added DCS to my favorites and library. Now I can change resolutions with out having to start DCS.
  8. I tried that to start with. In small mode the properties won't open for me to make any changes. That's one of the reasons I tried to completely uninstall it, but uninstall doesn't really uninstall everything. Some things are left to fuck with you. I may have to try to use a restore point and I'm not sure that will work.
  9. It is, I do and no it doesn't have to be running. It just has to be "registered" in you library. But it's not working correctly it's not reading my library so I don't get a per app choice.
  10. Since the G2 has to use Steam to run the HMD that somebody has already seen this problem and has a solution for me. I put my computer to bed one night and the next morning found that I couldn't adjust the resolution in SteamVR on a per app basis. I logged into my Steam account and got what you see here... I was hoping it was maintenance but no luck. I've been waiting a week. I can get to my account going to VIEW\SMALL but I still can't adjust the resolution per app. I have completely uninstalled anything that has to do with Steam and reinstalled it but that didn't work either. I've install Steam on another computer in the house and Steam seems to work in a normal fashion there but because it's not setup for VR I don't know if I can make resolution adjustments from there. I can browse the store and my library on it. I can't say I'm familiar with Steam. I only use it because I have to in order to use my G2.
  11. I normally don't pay much attention to them either and everything was working fine before, but when trying to troubleshoot you need to base line everything that you can set so you have a starting point that you can always return to.
  12. No change. I really think the problem is with WMR and SteamVR. I'm troubled by the idea that after adjusting WMR, then re-centering the grid in SteamVR erases the adjustments made in WMR. These movements seem to correspond to the eye point position in game when NeckSafer is used.
  13. Already did. Back as far as 2.04.
  14. This is a brand new clean install with everything updated and the latest drivers. The one thing that I recognize as different is that WMR portal was already pre installed with Windows rather than me downloading it from Steam. There shouldn't be any difference but you never know.
  15. The problem is that once Necksafer is activated (IE turning your head) the eye point moves to 6ft above the cockpit and directly above the canopy bow. The reset puts you back into the correct position until you turn your head again. I think part of the problem may be with WMR. When I go into the WMR house I find that my eye point is an estimated 4ft off the floor. When checking the floor level it appears to be 2ft below normal and must be adjusted. When I reset the floor level as instructed, the eye point moves from 6ft above the cockpit to 3ft above it, but still over the bow. When I move the floor level up to eye level in the WMR house(as far up as it will go) my eye level in game moves down to the level of the bow and just a couple of inches behind it. I hope this information help find a solution. I really like using Necksafer.
  16. I bought the Viggin a week ago. Then I heard that the big update from ED had a lot of changes for the Vig. I waited and was rewarded well. I'm still going through all the changes to see what they look like. I do have one thing that didn't seem to get addressed, the Altitude Warning Light on the radar panel. It looks crazed and foggy and the brightness is impossible to see in the daytime. It may be the crew chief in me but I would "red x" that unit until the avionics shop changed it out. Effectively grounding the aircraft. Is there a mod that would increase the brightness of the light during the daytime and maybe make it a little more red? I've been playing with Gimp to see if I could do it myself but I can't even find the texture files for the light. If I can figure this out I'd like to change more of the cockpit to English and make some of the labels look newer rather than the cracked and flaking labels that are there now. Just thought of something. When you compare your mod to the latest update from ED, do you think you guys think the mod should be installed to over write the ED update?
  17. I can see that. A short coupled tail wheel with a wide set of mains is just a setup for ground loops. My post is not to find a solution to my ground looping. I am proficient in the operation of tail draggers. My thought is for those who have never had experience with them. The question I ask myself and reason for the "wish" is, is it more important to learn how not to ground loop is a plane that is already not an exact replica in it's handling or to get it into the air to fight. If I was a novice and kept looping and getting stuck or destroyed and having to start again I would give up on this plane very quickly. Which is more important to the reason we fly DCS? Learning to taxi this beast or flying combat.
  18. I have a tail wheel endorsement on my pilot cert and a little over 100 hrs logged in tail draggers. My "wish" is not because I don't know how to fly a tail dragger but because the 47 doesn't react the same using electronic brakes and it does with real hydraulics. It's all about proportional force on the brakes pads.
  19. I know that the D model did not have tail wheel steering but I would like to see it implemented here anyway. 1. Not everybody has a set of rudder peddles with brakes. I see a lot of people use a twist grip for yaw and thus don't even have brake peddles. 2. People using a twist grip generally don't have the ability to, or the available axis to map differential brakes and even if they did humans don't have enough hands for all of the controls needed. 2. Even if you have a set of rudder peddles with brakes like I do, they are not consistent. I can push the brakes with no effect until a certain point and then it grabs and I go spinning out of control. It's inconsistent application makes getting down the taxi way almost impossible. I usually end up in the weeds a couple of times before I get to the runway.
  20. I fly the Mi-8...a lot. So when I get hot I just open the window. (I turn on the fan under my desk that blows from the general direction of the window.) I've actually been thinking of disassembling my G2 and creating a "heat vent" above the left eye. It seem that's the spot that generates the most heat. I have to wonder why HP didn't create a way to vent the heat generated by the electronics in the headset?
  21. I've tried MSAA at 2 and 4. I don't see any change in the image. I do see a change in my FPS and Frametime. FSR gives me 15 FPS and MSAA 2 takes 20. I guess I'll strip DCS down to the studs and start making adjustment again. Maybe I'll find something that will let me change the image at least.
  22. Normally I wouldn't bother asking and just chalk it up to DCS but this is a bit unusual, no setting I change seems to have any effect. It doesn't get any better or worse. I believe it might be a case of over sharpening. I run fholger's FSR and reshade mod's. Both have a sharpening setting and I have moved both from the lowest to the highest setting but nothing seems to change. I have changed PD, resolution in SteamVR and the setting in FSR. I've turn SS on and off in SteamVR. Every other thing seems to change when I adjust setting except that the shimmer never moves. Is there someplace that I don't know about that has a setting for image sharpening or is there something else I should be looking at?
  23. I probably didn't make it clear why I want these point in order. A-10, loitering over Cyprus waiting for a target call. Pathos has tanks rolling in. I need to head in that direction and sling my TGP there and start hunting for targets. Divert only gives me the 5 closes bases. As for typing in the name...not something you want to be doing in a combat situation. Besides, I'm under a VR hood. Steer points are "entered" onto specific steer point numbers, otherwise you wouldn't have a flight plan. Who ever entered the steer points from 52 to 101 (for the Syria map) just didn't bother to put them in alphabetical order. It's a good thought but not quite carried out to a logical conclusion. I'm betting a change to one file, pushed on the next update and it's done. The hardest part would be to cut and paste them in order.
  24. Maybe. If the data cartridge is blank each time you start and have to enter the data each time it's not worth it. But if it's an editable file that the data cartridge pulls from so that all the information is there already, then it's a workable idea. But then I think the data cartridge should be a static file on the client computer that DCS reads each time you "load" the cartridge.
