  1. I like flying in 1.5 and 2.0 and look forward to the Caucasus update, hope it is free but if not I am still willing to provide support.
  2. NO CIVILIAN PLANES in DCS, go to X-plane, Pre Par 3d, FSX, Aerofly FS 1 & 2 etc NO WAY-NOT HERE, this is a combat sim
  3. No scramble but I did find 3 parked allied planes but wasn't able to get them to explode. Will they explode if hit solidly enough. Jim
  4. Keep making good missions like this available. GREAT JOB
  5. Bluethornton, I assume that you prefer WWII planes as you state that you mostly fly the Spitfire. I have found when using my Oculus Rift that the best WWII plane for clarity in the cockpit is the FW190, the gauges are quite large and really easy to read. It also has a large cannon and if you get something in your gunsite it will go down. Jim
  6. I would really like to see what each control point does, please post photo with English translation.
  7. Ravens, I received my 2DOF-V2 shipment and have it completely assembled, seat mounted and ready to start the software installation. The assembly portion went very smoothly and took about 2 days. I haven't downloaded your export lua file yet but will be doing so as soon as I am finished with the DOF and Simtools software installation and testing. Please clarify if your export lua is to implement DCS 2.1.1 Open Alpha. I am confused as to exactly how to use it. Thanks Jim
  8. Two of the things I have determined about my Oculus rift CV1 is that it is critical to properly set the IPD (pupil to pupil distance) and then find the sweet spot on the lenses for most clarity, position the headset near there each time you put it on and then make any minor adjustment to put the sweet spot directly in front of your eyes. When I use the VR Zoom I can read small gauges and cockpit print clearly. Win 10, i7-7700K CPU, 32 Gigs, GTX 1080Ti, 1 TB SSD, 4 TB HDD, Oculus Rift CV1, 2 Degrees of Freedom Motion Simulator, T/M Warthog with Extension, Saitek Pedals
  9. Bunyap, When do you expect DCS will have the P-51 campaign ready for purchase.
  10. I use the white dot cursor for all my communications, easily done and selection is no problem. I prefer this to trying implementation with the TM Warthog.
  11. Ravens, I don't currently use TEAMSPEAK, so please enter info on how to set it up and connect with you. fiddlinjim
  12. RAVENS, Just received an email from 2DOF that my V2 has been shipped and also the 33 pages of the latest instructions. Looking forward to finally getting the motion simulator and hope can get it set up and running without too much difficulty. Will definitely need your help and guidance. I fly mostly WWII planes and the F-86 Sabre. Win 10, i7-7700K, 32 Gigs, GTX 1080Ti, 1Tb SSD, 4TB HDD, Oculus Rift CV1, Jet Seat, T/M Warthog with extension, Saitek Pedals
  13. Spitfire pilots during WWII mention repeatedly in their memoirs that the Spit needed to be retrimmed after any change in RPM-prop pitch-altitude etc. Advice to set up the engine and then trim is the only answer.
  14. I have never encountered any problem ever with TM bindings being insufficient in number. They are easy to use with VR and when used a few times are remembered easily and become second nature. I most often use my curser to click cockpit controls even though I have them binded to the TM.
  15. The Spit does not have toe brakes! You control taxi by the applying short bursts to the main brake in conjunction with application of the appropriate rudder pedal.
  16. Wavn, I also use the Joystick lever for short bursts when taxing the Spit. What is the button number of the lever you use on the throttle to set the brakes to four??????????
  17. I ordered the chair as recommended from the 2DOF Motion Simulator manufacturer however any chair with a frame mounting should work. My chair is a JEGS (Jegs.com) model 555-70200K1 - $129.99 which includes shipping. They have a less expensive one but I also wanted a cover/pad and a sliding bracket which is also recommended by 2 DOF. Remember to tell the 2DOF rep that you want it for flight simulation, define your seat bolt pattern dimensions, Joystick, Rudder and Pedals type and whether or not you use VR and which headset. These are the questions they came back to me with. The Hotas mounts cost approx $50 extra from 2 DOF. Let me know if this is helpful.
  18. Ravens, Just got notified that my 2 DOF is ready and shipping now. I also have copied all the info you have posted on the setup and hopefully with that info and your advice I can get up and running. Fiddlinjim
  19. I had same problem and here is how I fixed it. Go to DCS home website, Go to Support, Go to Technical Questions, Scroll down on left side of page to: "Mission/Campaign or Mission Editor Not working" You are told to change the Name of Missions and Mission Editor using Windows. I changed mine to Missions1 and Mission Editor1 and everything was as normal.
  20. I wear trifocal lenses, which of the three, top-middle-or bottom should I use when ordering a lens set from VR Lens?
  21. While I was waiting for my new hi-end desktop to arrive I decided to try a demo of the Oculus Rift. I drove 10 miles to a Microsoft Store and waited 30 minutes to get a trial. The demo was terrible, it was grainy with an obvious screen door effect and my reaction was "No Way, am I buying one of these things". My new desktop rig arrived and in the meantime I kept reading about the immersive effect of the Rift and the raves from owners, so I made up my mind to pop for one. I decided to buy from Amazon because if it was as bad as the nay-sayers said it was and as bad as my first experience, then I could send it back. Was I ever pleasantly surprised, I didn't find it grainy, I could easily read the cockpit gauges and it was truly immersive. Granted it isn't as crystal clear as my monitor and it does take a powerful rig to get the most out of it, but 2d is a thing of the past for me. I have demoed my Oculus numerous times and the typical comments are: "WOW, it's just like being in a real plane", "OMG, this is unbelievable", "I can't believe how real it is", "Man, I gotta get one of these". Never a comment about a screen door effect, or blurry, or seeing the pixels. I am also looking forward for an 8K from Pimax in 2018.
  22. I have a 32" 1080p monitor, track IR5, i7-7700K liquid cooled, 32GB, GTX 1080TI, win 10 and can play with every graphic totally maxed out. I then erringly bought an Oculus Rift CV1 before reading all the negative comments from those players who don't own one and about their "experiences" with the bad visibility, the immature technology, the statements that VR just isn't there yet, the nausea, having to adjust the graphic settings etc. etc. Somehow I found those statements just don't hold water and I only use the monitor now to read my mail and never-ever fly without using the Oculus. IT IS JUST GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am really looking forward to the same sort of knowing comments, after 4K, 5K or 8K headsets become available, but somehow I will just probably go ahead and buy one anyway. This in spite of all the comments from NON-USERS telling me how bad the experience is going to be.
  23. Bart, Good tips on the campaign, I started using your ideas and it is much more enjoyable. I agree seeing the rest of the flight can be a challenge in VR.
  24. Thanks Bunyap, Exactly what I needed, sure saves me a lot of extra effort. Jim
