  2. my system's pretty new: i7 930 3gb ram 9800gtx+ i'm using mostly medium range settings, with the fancy stuff(aa/anistrophic, etc) turned off. the game runs smoothly for the most part(70+ fps), however, it seems whenever there are battles involving cannons, the game slows to a crawl. also, cities lag. a lot. i've learned that turning scene and drawing distance down will make the buildings pop up at a shorter distance, but cities still fare pretty badly in terms of fps. i have set an experiment where i used the editor to create 2 scenarios. one involving lots of gunpods, cannons, etc, and the other missile oriented. the difference is about 40fps, which is astonishing...sometimes it'll even drop to single digits when ships starts spewing shells at eachother. i think the ballistic calculation, with so many cannon rounds flying everywhere is costing performance. also, do they have to render the shadow on every single bullet? i think the ka 50's cannon uses no shadow, and it runs much better. maybe it's the shadow's fault.

  4. Do you know if there's a lua file that can toggle between the jiggle camera settings? I want the default to be on.
  5. The plan is to make all DCS iterations compatible. Does this mean it will be possible to use the black shark in the Nevada map(via editor or custom battle)? Or will that map only be available to a10 owners?

    Microsoft Flight

    it's for general public which means it'll likely be horrible.
  9. will the engine updates for this game apply to older dcs games like blackshark? would really love true multicore support and what appears to be new shader and lighting system.
  10. does the blackshark have bump mapping? i know it has specular mapping, but it'd be great to see all the rivet details.
  11. this is confusing. he went from saying this is the nail in the coffin of sims to saying this is the best simulator he has.
  12. the game doesn't fully use all cores, you'll have to download an affinity manager for dcs blackshark.
  13. make it able to run on dual core cause the game is lagging on my system that runs crysis on high. also, fix full shading bug on nvidia cards...namely my 8800 gts and for gods sakes fix the darn crashes which imo are memory leak related
  14. is the engine much better optimized than lomac? that game was...to say the least terrible when it came to performance.

  16. finally. good to see this moving from vaporware to feasible. now i won't have to settle for some lame console oriented crap called birds of prey.
