The panels are the same, the operations and procedures are the same, the flight-dynamics are the same. They just have different labels from what you would expect from the manual. Equally if you see in the English manual "push key x and y will appear on the HUD", it takes only a little time until you get used to the Russian counterpart. I agree that the linear way they chose for the release is the easier way, but it most surely is not the most effective way. On a personal note adding to this: The two game companies I worked with so far, always sent betas to the raters, so the final could be released globally within 2 weeks apart at maximum. ;) But that may be just my perception.

It's not. The long awaited "Knights of the Sky", now "Rise of Flight" is due to be released end of 2008 beginning of 2009. :smilewink:

Please understand, this is not ranting or flaming ED or something! There's just a lot of us, who would like to know what is going on and a little information, if possible in English, would be really appreciated. If they say it's out next week, that's fine with me, but I can imagine this was pretty sure yesterday, too, but most new information keeps leaking in from the Russian forum, while the English site feels pretty abandoned except for those who'd like to buy the game and are begging for information.

I guess a lot more people would buy the Russian version now and the Western later, if we had the English manual available. Well, at least I would. But then, I'd also be glad if there was any official information on the whole download-thing, including price, payment and estimated date of unlocking the shop. :huh:

Danish Squid, I was not directly responding to you. Just wanted to make a point on the general discussion in this thread, not taking into account various things. And that is not only true for the DVD, but also for the download-version. Don't forget that many institutes charge a fee for transactions into the CIS-states. So while the price for the game may be 10 Euros or less, that doesn't mean you have to pay merely 10 Euros. And for DVDs outside the CIS, that is even worse, considering shipping and taxes. A German shop has the DVD-Version offered for 39.99 Euros, the printed English manual for 19.99 Euros. And I guess that's what we have to pay for the DVD, because that was also close to the price of FC, when it was released. But anyway, it would be very helpful, if there was some official word on all these questions finally..... :shifty:

I doubt that this will be the general price. You can't take the price in one country and simply translate that into your own currency. Small example: Photoshop: CS3 costs ~500 USD in the USA - that's in Euros: 370 Euros Actual price in Germany: 890 Euros....

No worries. There were a few comments on this, but as long as there is no official word on this matter whatsoever, so we can't get much closer to the release, I guess there will be even more rumors and questions spreading today...

Me neither. Using Paypal for a lot of transactions and never had a problem with it. On the other hand, you find similar website of almost everything. I'd just like to remind you to the guy that was banned from Hyperlobby and even started a website to spread his complains.... Well, back to the topic: As it was said before, Paypal does not allow transactions into the CIS, so for obvious reasons there is no paypal-offer. :smilewink:

I recommend to watch the Producers Notes and the other videos available. At least most of your questions are covered there or in the FAQ. e.g. we had an auto-rotation landing: and it was already mentioned in videos and comments, that the vortex-ring-state is modelled and very deadly. The second point probably is answered by this: And the last points are covered in the dev-updates. :smilewink:
