  3. No, but as Urze said, you have to take the X45-Stick apart, remove the internals from the stick. You unplug the connectors, except for the USB-Cable. Then you place it inside the throttle-case, with the cable from the throttle connected to the port of the hardware you took from the stick-base. You can now place the USB-cable through the hole for the former cables and use the throttle next to your stick.

  6. I think there's a misunderstanding here. I know my X45 mod is over 2 years old, so please fresh up my memory, deviletk: You have a USB-cable on the stick, right? And you plug the throttle into the port on the stick, correct? I'm not sure, as Urze is something like the Guru of modders, but I'm pretty sure there's a misunderstanding here. What Urze says is correct for the X52, but not for the X45, if I'm not completely wrong here, as you plug the throttle into the stick on the X45 if I'm not totally wrong.
  7. Hmmm... :huh: My memories must play tricks on me. I was convinced the USB-Cable is located on the STICK on the X45 and the Throttle was plugged into the stick, as opposed to the X52, where you plug the stick into the throttle. On the other hand, why would deviletk ask about the gameport-plug when only asking about the X45 throttle, then? I must confess I'm a bit confused?
  8. I don't think so. From my experience with modding joysticks, I'd say that most if not all use the standard-ports because they are cheaper, but they map the pins as they need to, not as they are mapped as a joystick. I just scrapped my modded X45, though, to get some spareparts for a new panel, so I can't confirm that for this particular stick.

  11. If it was that easy, be sure, it would have been done already. Just look at how much time this simulation took. And it is just about a single helicopter! If you'd simulate vehicles and soldiers, jets and everything, you'd either have to work on it for many years up to infinity, as you also have to adapt to ever new hardware, etc. or you'd have to limit the realism of each unit you simulate. The more units, the more interaction, the less detail to each unit up to the point of games like Flashpoint and ArmA. Well, hopefully Flashpoint2 will be closer to the what you are wishing for. As a sidenote: Falcon was planned to be interactive with a modernized Version of the M1Abrams-tanksim.
  12. No, but that is not the point, as there already will be a Russian version. IMHO it's a good idea to translate the game into the listed languages, but lets be honest: Anybody really interested in aviation at least in the western world has to know English pretty good, as most, if not all communication is done in English and most cockpits are not "localized" in reality either. The translation for LockOn to German was nice for those who don't speak German or no English at all, but it was neither immersive nor realistic. So, for me it would have made much more sense to translate the manuals in the given languages, maybe even the pop-up-descriptions for the buttons, but the complete game is a bit overkill IMHO. Besides that, it's hard to translate some terms to other languages, as you can also see in the FAQ-Section. At least for the German version, there are some translations that may fit, but are not really equivalent to the military descriptions (Like the translations for FLIR and LLTV, as the most obvious). Well, at least I copied the English versions over German voicepack 30min after the first installation... Maybe it would have made more sense to release them as an optional patch?
  13. I feel uncomfortable exposed above treetops. Yes, I'm an old rotorhead and I will buy BS for sure, but I'm even more looking forward to the Hind- and Apache-Modules and I'd give a real money for the Kiowa.
  14. Thanks for the insights, Renato71. In that case I will probably wait for the first reports on how the game can be translated, before making my decision to order the Russian version.
  15. You can probably order the download-version. That would be the easiest and cheapest way to order a copy and it would also be the fastest way.

  17. I will wait for the western release. It gives me time to play other games, that will settle some dust after the release of BS and I can hopefully study the manual and set up a few panels, so I'm ready to go, one BS is released in a language that I can understand. :smilewink:
  18. There is no problem with downloading the Russian version. But the other languages will not be available for download until it has been rated. And it doesn't matter where you live to change that. Some organizations may even rate it in a matter of 3 days, but it doesn't change the fact that it will take 90 days for others, so the clearance for release depends on them.
  19. As Wags posted before, the problem is not the translation, but legal issues! The game needs to be rated prior to the release and making it available via download equals an release and therefore is not allowed either, before it is rated. And as this rating is done by other states' organizations, it's not in EDs hands. You could restate the question, though, why this translation was not done before, as this rating-ceremony is not really a secret. I doubt the minor changes during the beta were really a stopping point for translating the game earlier, so these 90 days would at least have started counting down. :(

  21. According to the latest statements it's not completely translated into all 5 languages. But I'd volunteer to rate the game, too. :D

  23. Every game released to western markets has to be rated. The ESRB in the US, for example, has 7 ratings reaching from "suitable for early childhood" to "Adults only", depending on their audio, video and text-content. As understanding the comments and radio-commands, reading missions briefings, etc. is vital for coming up with such a rating, I guess it wouldn't have made much sense to send them the Russian version.
  24. You're welcome. My hopes are still high, that the manual, at least in English, will be released for download somewhere around the 17th, so we've also got something to look forward to.:(
