  1. I'm a worst-case scenario kind of guy, so I'm going with 1,200 pounds. Therefore, if I take four Phoenixes, I'm staying up until I use them.
  2. Let's all just lie to ourselves and say they're aggressing against the USAF.
  3. Seriously, I just need a group of people to scroll down through the NATOPS warning signs and try everything.
  4. That's going on my list.
  5. Yeah, I'd say let the community handle the fantasy liveries, which it tends to do very well.
  6. MORE SALT edit - Seriously though, we need people to get saltier. Fuss about the font of release posts. Kvetch about the kerning. Throw a tantrum about the time of day they occur. You know, stuff grown-ups do when they're angry (which is unfortunately not sarcasm, I've worked with more child-adults than I ever believed I would).
  7. We're dangerously close to hyponatremia at this point.
  8. I mean, you're right, but it makes my brain melt a bit. Yeah, why the 1.2 number makes me kind of sweat without doing anything. I should also say that the number is for the full 4-2-2 loadout, as well as the empty tanks still hanging on. I'd assume that I would ditch the empties for that sweet, sweet extra 500 pounds. I'm still sweating looking at that number.
  9. I fly Georgia at War a lot, and one of the biggest threats we have is a pair of MiG-31s that skate on in to either break up out tankers and AWACS (Phase I), or interrupt our strike ops (Phase II). I could count on one hand the number of tines I either tanked during a CAP, or returned home with ordnance. I’ll probably be carrying 4 Phoenixes in the tunnel as SOP there.
  10. Damn. This is what I was trying to create in spreadsheet form. Thanks for saving me the work. Edit - Okay, quick math; 4 Phoenix, 2 sparrow and 2 sidewinder: fuel state for max trap is 1.2. Wee.
  11. He said two forward in the tunnel imposed nothing extra drag-wise, I was wondering if that changed by putting two in the back as well.
  12. Is 4 in the tunnel such a major increase in drag that it makes more sense to carry 2 if I'm just patrolling with no expectation of contact? Or is this something I'm going to have to out on release?
  13. I have a T16000, and it has enough buttons that I'm set for the Tomcat.
  14. No country that wanted to not be overthrown by an angry military would make combat actions reliant on debate by parliament. The closes I know of were restrictive ROEs during Vietnam, and even those boiled down to "if it shoots at you, shoot back." The exceptions to that rule were the Haiphong and Hanoi zones, and that was just a simple "do not attack anything here for any reason."
  15. Yeah, this is how I know you've never flown with me.
  16. Everyone's bitching about not having the Tomcat yet, and I haven't had time to fly since freaking Monday.
  17. Why you gotta hurt me for the mistakes of my youth.
  18. Does anyone know the glide ratio and speed for a TALD? Trying to work on something.
  19. That's enough for my needs.
  20. I saw this too. Was hoping it would be a day 1 item, but I'll work on my tactics to use it in conjunction with Hornets in the meantime.
  21. It's all most of us have. Besides, the format is much, much better than reading the NATOPS manuals (and this is distilled down to what we need to know for DCS). I can't get over how complex the back seat is. Could be that I've seen the majority of the front seat done up (with the exception of weapons, mainly). I'm going to have to ease into the back with a full tank of gas, the AI AP flying straight and level, and a lot of free time.
  22. Because of the F-14? Yes and no. The F-14 announcement waaaaay back when got me interested in getting back into DCS, and combat flight sims. In preparation, I built a new system to play DCS.
  23. Jesus, this is a better organized NATOPS
