  1. I apologize for the bad initial upload! Tutorial on Aerial refueling here in DCS World focusing on the AV-8B Harrier II and Probe and Drogue style aircraft. The video is applicable to all DCS World Probe and Drogue style aircraft including the Mirage 2000C and the upcoming F/A-18C Hornet and F-14A/B Tomcat. It's important to keep your head in the right mindset and keep relaxed and fly with the tanker in formation rather than lunging at the Drogue. Once you start lunging you need to fall back reset your head and your aircraft before you try again.
  2. I have had the same crash every time I exit a mission after I have refueled from the S-3B Viking. I have used both the AV-8B and M2000C. Upon exiting the mission the screen goes black and the debriefing screen never appears it just stays black until I force quit DCS:W through the task manager. This is the only game breaking bug I have had in the 2.5 open beta! Thanks for the hard work ED!
  3. Hey guys, I made this video to help people with the frequent issues that I see asked in regards to the start up of the Harrier, here, on hoggit and on DCS World Facebook groups. I hope this can help illustrate the start up chapter in Chuck's Guide and help anyone having difficulties getting the harrier up and goin!
  4. I once had a Hind soak up 4 sidewinders like it was nuthin! Then he shot me down with his chin turret! I was in an F-15C, I dunno if its OP or I suck haha
  5. Man an A-4M would be cool in DCS World!
  6. Ohhhh! Ok I didnt realize a C+ had a super hornet cockpit with a touch screen UFC and all of that stuff! did the lot 20 Charlie hornets have JHMCS built into them or is that an upgrade?
  7. I have seen this post many many times what I am curious about is if the jet when it is feature complete is a F/A-18C or F/A-18C+ and what capabilities come standard from the factory for lot 20 Hornets and what is an upgrade to the jet.

  9. Hey guys I’ve been curious as to what capabilities we are getting are standard in the Lot 20 F/A-18C Hornet and what are after market upgrades. I’m guessing the JHMCS and 9X capability are upgrades as Legacy Hornet production ended in the late 90’s. But what other capabilities and systems are native to the Lot 20 Hornet vs later upgrades?
  10. I would buy the AV-8B Harrier as the MFD's and various systems of the Jet are going to be very similar to the Hornet, the Harrier is more similar to the Hornet than the A-10 is to the Hornet
  11. A video on the employment of Laser guided bombs and IR guided mavericks in complete darkness with NVG's and NAV FLIR on the HUD. If you want to practice this set up a very simple mission and get very good at employing these weapons during the day time first before you add the extra challenge of Darkness. Make sure to keep aware of your surroundings and don't crash! Also a little history tidbit about LGB's and precision guided weapons during the 1991 Gulf War! I hope you guys enjoy the video!
  12. There were a number of A's from VF-154 (I believe don't quote me on that) that were sent ashore to fly with F-15E's during OIF because the RIO's screen was bigger than the WSO's of the Mudhens so the RIO's could more effectively pick out targets in the Urban AO's and A model tomcats Buddy Lazed for airforce F-15E's! I've always loved that story!
  13. Hey ED or anyone in the know! Will there be an addition of Persian or Arabic radio transmissions for the Persian Gulf map? Persian for the IRIAF and Arabic for the Gulf States ie Oman, UAE, Kuwait etc however there sure are a heck of a lot of British Accents on the ATC channels in most of the Gulf states so maybe British sounding ATC in english with middle eastern accents in english for Gulf State pilots? Could add a lot to the immersion of feeling like your flying in the congested airspace of the gulf!
  14. I know that I will fly the heck out of both of these awesome jets! I am a huge huge fan of the Turkey and love it but I also like dropping bombs and shooting rockets. I think i will have no issue picking up one, one day and another, another day just kinda depends on what you feel like! I am also super super pumped about the F-4E Phantom II as well and cant wait till the day im sitting on my home cockpit having an internal struggle over whether I should launch in a F-14 over the Black Sea, take off in a USMC Hornet over Nevada or patrol the Gulf and harass oil tankers in a IRIAF F-4E! I think once the F/A-18 and F-14 are released it will totally revitalize and attract many more DCS players to multiplayer i think there will be many DCS players who enjoy both the Tomcat and Hornet! I can see future persian gulf servers being populated by lots of Harriers, Cats and Bugs!
  15. My educated guess would be that just like the radars the F-15's is probably more tuned to air to air threats while the F/A-18 's is more of an all around type system. But they may be very similar just have changes specific to the aircraft in the same way the APG-70 and APG-73 are similar but tuned to the different jobs of the Hornet and Albino Eagle
  16. Nah I wasnt sayin that I was just trying to advance the conversation raised in the post. I do hope some 4th gen Russian Jets get some love in the future though!
  17. I think the best thing that could happen with the FC3 jets would be to have some sort of middle ground between FC3 and full fidelity. Full fidelity aircraft are amazing and wonderful products that I love but I believe a middle ground could be reached by either Making the systems already in place in FC3 jets clickable with a few switches in the cockpit rather than every single switch being active like in a Full fidelity module. There could also be a middle ground where things are clickable but not every single system is modeled or the systems are not fully simulated and work arounds are used. For instance I think there are some systems going into the hornet which will not be used by 90% of the playerbase (which is not a knock on the F/A-18C module at all ED thank you for all your wonderful hard work for us Hardcore AV Geeks and those of us who have grown up around aviation!) In summation I think there could be a middle ground between FC3 and full fidelity and some sort of clickiness in the FC3 aircraft I think could make them more fair against FF aircraft where pilots actually have to work the systems to get their weapons to bare... I also think this dynamic played into the reasons for making a Map like DCS: Persian Gulf where Iran is involved because they will have F-4's, F-14's and F-5's (among others) on the IRIAF/IIAF side will bring FF modules into opposition instead of just Aggressor roles like they are in NTTR. Of course there will be a few FC3 MiG-29's thrown in for good measure, but i think it is an awesome work-around for this issue of creating full fidelity 4th Gen fighters/attack aircraft from the Eastern side of the world that I think is a lot more interesting than your standard MiGs Vs Teen Series ideas of global conflict. But its all about not pissing off the russians, the Jet I see as being the only jet in FC3 as a potential candidate for a middle ground of Full Fidelity makeover is the F-15C due to the established working relationship with Boeing with the F/A-18C, and F-4E (Boeing now owns McDonnel Douglas) edit: I wonder if ED had to get permission from Northrop Grumman as well as boeing for the F/A-18C? Just my throughts on the topic!
  18. I thought I would make this video to show the older Over the Hump campaign in DCS World 2.5 and encourage everyone to try going back and playing these FC3 campaigns now that we have a beautiful new terrain! The new terrain makes these campaigns much more fun to play! I have found the lack of briefings/triggers/voiceovers actually make these older ones much more challenging than the newer fully tricked out compaigns by Wags, Bunyap, baltic dragon etc... I also included some MiG-29 history as well cause the Fulcrum deserves some love! I was also excited about being able to be back in the USSR...
  19. Revisiting old Flaming Cliffs 3 Campaigns! A short video about the MiG-29S and the Campaign that comes with it called Over the Hump. hope everyone playing DCS World goes back and takes a look at all of the Flaming Cliffs 3 campaigns as they have a new life here in DCS:W 2.5!
  20. Thanks for watchin I'm glad you liked it!
  21. A mission to destroy a weapons shipment of modern MANPADS from Russia to South Ossetia in the Aero L-39ZA Albatros... Also a commentary on the History surrounding the DCS World 2.5 Caucasus map, The 2008 Russo-Georgian War. This is a very interesting military conflict whos story is mostly unknown in the Western World. Both sides have very different Ideas of what happened, what caused the war etc. The war itself encompasses many different layers over its 5 day period from late August through early September of 2008, from COIN to large force on force firefights and armored clashes. This breadth of different engagements and the beautiful terrain of the Caucasus Mountains makes for a perfect map for a simulator such as DCS World! If you want to know more about the Caucauses I suggest these two videos! Wild Russia: The Caucasus (Der Kaukasus) - National Geographic Documentary HD- BBC Newsnight - What really happened in South Ossetia? (2008)-
  22. Hey Guys quick question! Is there a Mod or a way to get western style HGU type helmets in the L-39C or ZA? I know its a russian/czech jet but American pilots who own L-39's as warbirds do not fly with Russian style helmets and oxygen masks. It would be cool for videos if there was a way to change that
  23. Hey guys! Just wondering are the radios working in 2.5? I know the TPOD is more or less functional now! (no perpetual laser thank gosh!) but what about the radios?
  24. Depends on whether or not they can get the information required! Could be a really cool little plane to fly around though. I will say that I think the Super Tocano fits in better with the more modernish setting especially with the newly announced Afganistan map
