  1. Sorry, Jaromir, no idea. Aren't these them, though?
  2. Escape then cancel (or escape again) gets you a clickable + mouselook cockpit. If you mean to actually MOVE around, like forward, back, left, right, I believe it is "right shift + right control + Keypad buttons(so 4 will move you left, 8 will go up, / goes forward, * goes backward)." That is the best feature of TrackIR in my opinion, being able to actually move in the cockpit. I tried it, but I had to send it back as it gave me headaches. Sometimes, I use the RShift+RCtrl+Keypad when the situation arises, like needing to peer over to the side and out one of the door windows, etc. So, that was: escape + cancel (or escape again)=viewable+clickable cockpit RShft+RCtrl+Keypad=MOVE camera in cockpit
  3. Um, didn't you just answer your own question? It is the best simulator made, to-date, that is available to the public.
  4. Yes, that is what I mean, most of the times that works for me as well. Since I've been targeting "moving vehicles," though, I've been experiencing this "wandering" of the SHKVAL. Holding down the target while I move it is somewhat akin to fighting-the-Auto-Pilot. No matter what I do it wants to go the direction it wants, and as soon as I release the target-lock button, it starts all over again.
  5. Lately, I've been getting bored with just shooting those tanks in the Tutorial 01 {The "Take-off and Blowed Some Stuff Upl} one, so I've been getting some practice at locking on to the trucks and buses (ha, even school buses, so evil ). I seem to have no problem locking and tracking, then if I have missles left I pretty much always hit them, KA-BOOM!!! Here is where the problem is, though. Say I lock on one moving to the right, and blow it up, the camera continues to track to the right as though it was still tracking the vehicles which is now dust. I press lock target and try to move it; I've even pressed "o" to try and disengage the SHKVAL on the target (I know there is a pan around command to aquire target, which I thought was "o" but now am not sure). The "p" command says something about auto-tracking, but I never started that to begin with and it also has "/gun" in there. That led me to believe it was about the 30mm cannon. So, in short, after you have designated a target and blown it up, is there a way to reset the current target ONLY. I know backspace resets the whole system, and when I press and hold lock-target, I can move it somewhat but as soon as I stop, presto it is back to slewing as it was with the moving target. Makes trying to kill the next commuter bus, um, I mean, deadly bad tank, very difficult. Thanks for your responses!
  6. Sorry, never had that problem. I've had problems unlocking targets, but that is about all.
  7. Hey, I'm sorry, but I am so frustrated I am just angry right now. Could you explain again how you got it so that it didn't shut off all the Auto-Pilot's again? I think I do have all axes taken away except the 3 for the mouse, the 4 for the Siatek Pro and the 4 for the Logitech 3DPro, which I kind of retired since I got the Saitek. The Logitech still had this happen when it was the only joystick. As if this thing wasn't hard enough, AP's turning themselves off is not good. Thanks for the tips so far.
  8. Yes, the rudder on the twist-a-stick is where I came up with that curve. I wanted some play in the stick before it took hold, didn't want it too strong at first, but if I need to twist badly I could go all the way and get 100% effect. I was trying it with x- & y- as well, but I just reset them. I might give your idea a try if they are still all fidgety.
  9. One of my favorite Lennon tunes... I have not been playing Black Shark that much, mostly because I feel I should be getting a decent handle on it by now. I don't! I just spent 2 1/2 hours flying a mission that really should've taken maybe 1/2 hour. There are some thing I am just really not understanding: 1) Why do the Auto-Pilot heading, altitude, bank and pitch turn themselves off? Somtimes I will start swinging wildly out of control, not understanding why, and sure enough if I look, all 4 (or 3, with altitude on) are shut off. This is really driving me crazy. WHY? 2) Does not hover mean to stay stationary with the same altitude? There are times I hover, with AP Altitude assistance and AP Heading assistance assigned, but the helicopter floats, oh, 2 or 3 or maybe 5 on the speed indicator. 3) If the above happens, I have heard it mentioned many times to use trimmer constantly. Well, if I am in a situation like above, almost a hover, and I want to correct whatever minor thing is wrong (shouldn't an attack-helicopter of the 21st Century know enough to "hover" on its own when told to do that?), if I dare to press trimmer it makes everything way worse. Before it acknowledges where my joystick is, the first thing it does is pitch up, EVERY TIME! Needless to say, my minor rocking now turns into a lot of rocking. 4) I can only seem to achieve a hover when my chopper is tilted upwards. It never seems to be level as it hovers, it has an upward tilt. Well, again, needless to say, this make firing rockets/gun pods that much harder. I have to dip a lot, which forces me to go at high-speeds and I don't want to, to even get the gun sights on the enemy. 5) I have the pitch and roll axes modified to something like the diagram below. This is so they will start out with small movements, but if I force them all the way, they will respond all the way. Unfortunately, IT ISN'T WORKING like that. If I barely tap the roll axis, the hellicopter comes close to going 90* on it's side. If I am in a hover (or close, ugh), it is as though it recognizes the input-curve, but in real movement or any other time, it is usually unbelievably twitchy either x- or y-axis. HEEELLLLPPPP!!! I don't understand any of this. I have tried practice, I have tried training, some of these things I just don't get. I have not read the manual cover-to-cover, but some of these (like the AP assists suddenly turning off by themselves) I have never found in the manual. Ugh, do I sound frustrated? I want to love this game but keep fighting it because at times it will be so twitchy, at times it won't do what I ask it to.
  10. The counter-measure is on the opposite side from where we have it, too. The Black Box is what has me wondering, I went to the site and it is "cut-out" of every shot. Hmm, what could it be? Quite interesting stuff!!!
  11. WOW, what a difference. Just look at how beautiful it can be when someone knows what they are doing. Excellent Job, Moose!!! Thanks, a lot!:smartass::pilotfly::joystick: :D Ps- to the original maker of the skin, don't get me wrong, it is an AWESOME skin, it just looks so much more natural with the red/gray-rotors.
  12. Okay, shoot me this time; what is Catalyst v9.1?
  13. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. I've got Windows XP, so I don't think I can be of much help. I have had to reinstall it 3 times, but that is all I did, was reinstall over the old install and it worked fine each time. I am now a bit gun-shy as to modding things, all 3 mess-ups were a direct result of trying to mod. I suggest e-mailing them again, or wait for someone here with VISTA as the operating system to help you.
  14. Anyone who's played any campaign missions, any word on this?
  15. Are you sure the keyboard if working correctly?
  16. Yes, that is it exactly. Is that a finished skin? Where can I get it? PERFECTION!!!
  17. I must ask some baddddd questions. No one ever replied to this one, even though 146 people looked at it. If there was anyone interested, I found this wikipedia entry that gives some information about it. If it is something you are interested in (I understand helicopter and tail spin and the need for stablization; I find this one hard to understand at face value), I hope you enjoy! Co-Axial Rotors {from Wikipedia}
  18. See, I don't think that is entirely true. I'm not 100% positive, but I have taken screenshots of all 30 skins I have available to use. The Rotors on them (not the blades, but the rotors) have some different looks. In my first post, you can see that they are colored from brown, gray, yellow, red, green to black. I unpacked the DOSAAF one, and I could not find which controls what (and didn't want to mess any up). If you look at picture 3 & 4, then 5, you can see I took the rotor and just *.bmp-ed it as an examply of what I would love with that skin. If you look at 2, then 5, you can see the change from green to red/gray. It is a shame, skin is great, and I am happy with all other 29, but this one does not look right whilst flying.
  19. I would stay away from that website to buy Flaiming Cliffs. I was all ready to purchase it when I got this message as I pressed checkout: I've never had that before or since, so I just went on to Amazon and found it from a storefront. It made me really nervous to continue with that website. Well, sorry, I had the picture all copied, but it only showed up above as text. Now, apparantly the website hates me because it won't even acknowledge my account. I would advise caution, though, this was a direct warning that the website address and the actual site address were different.
  20. I have not felt ready yet to tackle the campaigns, I still have a lot of practice to feel comfortable in that baby. With that said, I was just wondering if you can choose your skin when flying each campaign mission? Also, do you wingmen match your skin, or are they the "standard" paint-job? Thanks!
  21. I agree; thank you DCS!
  22. No, I meant do NOT shoot me! Great picture!!! I like it everytime I look at it (the Black Shark one, not me being filled with bullet holes).
  23. NO! That is your first mistake; don't think about it, BUY IT! Definitely need some kind of joystick, I was using a Logitech Extreme 3DPro with 12 buttons, 1 hat-switch and 4 axes. I ended up getting Saitek X-52Pro (my first HOTAS {hands-on-throttle-and-steering}) and am quite happy with it. The game can be adjusted to any level. I suggest 100% sim, if you stay with it it'll definitely be worth it in the long run. My first two weeks, I struggled with taking off to a hover. Now, I can take off and achieve forward flight from the moment I leave the ground if I want to do so. Far from an expert, but the month I've had it I have improved greatly. Ps- don't ask about landings, they are a sorespot. BUY IT! Best sim I've ever seen (and I've played a fair amount of them).
  24. Wow, that is all good information. I highlighted the last part because I didn't realize that about these rockets flying and the older ones not doing so. Makes sense as to why they were "easier" (maybe dumbed-down is better) to use and be accurate with off-the-bat. Practice, practice, practice...and I need rocket practice. Thanks, again!
  25. WOW!!! Very intense, and a very dramatic photographic illustration of the event! Well done! Just out of curousity, did you tell them anything at all besides return to base? Maybe this is something in lines of a "bug" and needs to be reported. Either that, or that #55 jerk was pretty pissed off at the other two for using up all the hot-water this morning!
