I think he is talking about the entries in the "graphics.cfg" file. That is where I found the list. Whoever said this was a ridiculously complicated way to deal with skins, they get a gold star. I guess they had to do it this way, I could not imagine someone making this system on purpose.

Actually, the shooting range is perfect for free flight. You start at an airbase, there is a field 18 km's away with vehicles to give you "target practice." They are not manned, they just sit there. In this mission, you can practice landing/take-offs, following waypoints, having the auto-pilot follow waypoints, gunnery, missle and vikhr practice. There are no threats anywhere; it's set up as a shooting range but you can really do anything you want.

Hey Man, I've got one I've been working on. Just PM me with your e-mail and I'll send it. I posted a picture of it in another thread, and some nim-whit started insulting it and saying all of these things are wrong with it. Like I asked? Like I really care if he doesn't like it? I know I didn't appreciate my work being insulted for no reason. I just don't understand some of these "people" sometimes, it is like they can only feel good by insulting what others do. Personally, I like it. I have been working on it about a week, and I think I have everything set up nicely. Let me know if you are interested.

Ka-50_Fictional_Dragon_Scheme Well, I did a search through the 4 files countries.lua, k-50.lua, ka-50.skins and graphics.cfg, and this sucker didn't show up anywhere. Unless it is embedded in something, I can't find it. My theory might be wrong, but it is the only one I have right now, so I'm sticking to it.

I went back and checked, and I think that is it. There are no skins for "Standard," "Standard {faded}," "Werewolf," "Turkey 1," etc. I went back and matched up each skin I have (30) that I can use, some with the name exact, some I matched up "Werewolf=Desert 3." There is no Werewolf skin, so it would make sense. I know there were 4 aircraft assigned to other countries. I added them to Russia and now I can use them. They were USMC Gray, Turkey, Turkey 1 (I think this IS Dragon) and Desert 2 (or maybe 1, but definitely a "desert"). Once I added them, they show up as choosable skins. Well, matching all I can use to fly with and the list in the file, only 3 came up unaccounted for. They were: Night, Dark Gray, Dark Dirty. I have a feeling they are probably associated to another country and so they don't appear on our lists. Of course, I could be wrong and "Dragon" is an unaccounted one and the Turkey 1 is actually "Night." I am pretty sure, though, aside from Mitch skins and a few others to add, that we have almost all of them from "in-game."

Yes, I noticed that, too. I think some are in there though, such as desert2. I think I had to add by hand to the countries.lua so I could fly 4 aircraft; I know it was Turkey, Turkey1, I think Desert 2 and USMC. There is a gray one in there; I kind of wondered if some skins are used but names don't match. Only ever saw one Turkey skin listed, but two show up (Turkey & Turkey 1). I kind of wondered if one of them WAS the Dragon skin, etc., etc. Just a hunch, no proof yet, but several of them would seem to have matches (Black, Black 26, Desert 2, Apache Green, Dark Grey, Light Field). Now why they would name the "file" one thing, and then the in-game name differently, I have no clue. I did notice that several of the "names" in-game didn't match that list you have above, though. They had to have come from somewhere...

I am a recent addition to the Saitek X-52Pro world. I am enjoying it so far. It has a little mode dial, so I have 3 modes set up; landing/takeoff, flight, combat. Only a few new controls for takeoff, a bunch for flying and then every button used in combat mode. You can even use pinky as a switch and then double it to 6, but I am using mine as a clutch (once pushed in, command stays until pushed again...only clutch I use). I use it for PANEL Zoom-In during combat mode, and descent in both flight and takeoff/landing mode. Very cool stick, and I'm not sure what PCIP is, but I have all of the different buttons colored differently. You can go green, amber (yellow) or red. 5 buttons can be colored like that; 2 of 3 hat-switches; the mode chooser has its own colors of blue, indigo (purple) and red that can't be altered. The MFD is great, shows you which mode your using, what button is pressed (if you name them all, which I did to) and which profile is loaded. I like it!

Sometimes, I see a post like this and think how far we have actually come. Someone wants better than the picture above, yet look how far we've come from the Atari days in only 25 short years. I could never look at that transformer tower and think "bad, needs improvement," after growing up on this Ps- By the way, that green dot is the hero, the "arrow" is a sword, the red beast is a dragon, the gold thing is the "Golden Chalice," the yellow line is a wall, and the green lines at top and bottom are walls. When I play Oblivion and think of this game, it makes me feel like I took one of Einstein's time-trips to about 100 years in the future!

...OR ask a question on a forum dedicated to the game!!!
-
Yes, I noticed that as well. He says a Mac version is coming but I guess it never did. I kind of think it is "as is" and will not be improved, but it works for me. Happy that others will get use from it! I love this game! [i hate crashing!!!]

I asked? I simply wanted to know if others are interested in the program.

Okay, here goes: Excellent X-52Pro Graphical Program Again, I did not see anything that said it wasn't ok to link. If you do spot something, let me know. He says, ...so I don't think it will be a problem. I like VERY MUCH!!!:megalol:

I wish I had something to give back to the DCS community. I found one thing on-line while looking for X-52Pro information. There was a guy, I think in Chicago, who made a graphical representation program of the X-52Pro. It is really cool, once done. I've included a picture below. Now, I can't take credit for the program, it all goes to this guy that made it. His website didn't outright say you can link to it, but it didn't say "not" to and the general feel from what he posted there seems like he doesn't mind sharing this at all. This sheet looks really cool when printed (the shot is of my *JUST* finished [earlier today] printed page). I find this kind of thing very helpful. There are some drawbacks, for example; you have to change the font on each different entry (though you can drag & drop); you can't change the column sizes or titles (I blacked mine out with a felt-tip pen, then used first entry spot to name them); you can't do anything with multiple cells at one time (e.g. copy an entire column). If people are interested, let me know and I will post a link to this guy's website. Again, all credit goes to him. I just found this and it will help me a lot, so I though others might be interested. Thanks, Sunjah Ps- I was thinking about it, and I figured I'd go ahead and put up the "actual" Saitek X-52Pro Profile.pr0. It is the one using the Saitek software, NOT this guy's graphical printout (I like his prinout so much better than the one with the Saitek software). Before I went HOTAS (sweet!!!) in the last few days, that was the joystick I used. Mine worked fine as well, have you tested your joystick with anything else to see if maybe the slider is broken? I had mine attached to the throttle. To program it, I simply went into "AXIS COMMANDS" (it is the only one that is a different color in the drop-down menu), then clicked on the space under Logitech Extreme 3D Pro that matched up with throttle. Then it is just a matter of pushing the throttle "up" or "down" and the game automatically read it. You can also, instead of pushing up or down, go to the drop down menu and manually choose it, I think it is called "slider." Then you can configure to your liking by clicking the "Axis Tune" button at the very bottom while you have the throttle box active. Hope that helps!

To "catch" that bug that was mentioned, all you need do is press "ESCAPE" while in F1 (cockpit) view mode, then press cancel (or escape again) and the mouse becomes your view and you can still click things. Again, just escape and cancel (or escape again) while in the F1 main view. I PRAY this becomes a feature!!!

No more need be said, EXCELLENT review (and I agree 100%).

I landed fine on grass, well, a little bumpy, but I landed:joystick:. The thing was, when I took off again I blew up before the wheels even left the ground. I don't know if it's a bug, I damaged something or what, but it was a sad moment, that's for sure!

I had never thought of that, but now that you brought it up, I think that a "Medium" setting would be great. I am going for the realism, everything is real except outside views for me (how can you pass up the beauty), and while training I am permitting crash recovery (load times are too much not to just go to another chopper then). I am progressing from crashing always, to finishing training missions and crashing on return (hey, it's progress). I do think this would be an excellent idea, though. I also agree "Bottom Line: there is not a better Helo simmulator out there"! I am really looking forward to the next module...:joystick:

I've seen in a few places (military sites, info sites) that the Ka-50 can use A-A missles. I wonder why the change occurred. I believe DCS has been very thorough, so if their chopper doesn't have it, I bet the real one doesn't either. I wonder why, though, or why some places say it can (maybe early in construction, then changed?) and does use Air-to-Air if it does not. Strange. I know I used to have fun with my old helicopter sims with wingtip missles. Maybe they took liberties putting them there, but I enjoyed them!!!

When I saw the thumbnail, I said, "Awww, NICE!" Very good job. I wish I was better at getting these things in the game, but I'm having trouble. Good Work!!!:megalol:

Yes, I had to manually edit the reg.ini and modman.ini to get it to recognize my root folder. I will try updating it with what you have here, though when I updated the modman.ini alone for 7.0.0.1, it would not recognize it until I also updated the reg.ini by hand. -

I've tried several times to make the Canadian Navy, named Navy, and it won't make it. Attached are photos of the problems (I think?). The first one shows where trouble is, when I press "NEW" button, this is what happens on the 2nd picture.
