  1. Tested in control panel early on, works perfectly. Went through the in-game button assignments with an antique 1977 fine-toothed comb (and three times over), and not any problem with conflicts. If I get rid of the rudder completely, no problem. If it is adjusted in-game or through software, it sticks. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for it.
  2. No, I wouldn't. I already spent at least $40 printing it and binding it, so that makes the total so far about $100 for this game. I think that is already a tremendous amount for 1 game. I wish they (the industry) would include something like that as part of the game. I don't know if the boxed version will have it, but I think it should. A printed manual should not be an added accessory, but a standard inclusion in any game (especially a simulation).
  3. Any other ideas to try?
  4. The x and z keys contol the rudder (I thought this was default). When I do twist the stick and it gets "stuck" to the right, it will only move from the right (which now becomes the "center) to the middle, it won't go to the left. For some strange reason, if I press z (which is left rudder), it takes the "stuck" rudder and recenters it to the middle. I agree, it is very strange. I had no problems before, I hadn't played in maybe a month, and now it does this. If I disconnect the joystick, it does not do it, and when I test the joystick out on everything else, it shows to work 100% correctly. If I have the joystick active, and do not have the rudder connected through twisting the stick, it still will do it on occasion. HELP!?!?!?
  5. No, it is in-game only. It is odd, it starts to go back as if normal, just about gets there to the middle, and then just pulls all the way right. As I said, if I press "z," it re-centers it..then it acts like normal except in the case of when I give it rudder to the right again. This doesn't make any sense. I did this and then took off the twist the stick for rudder (so rudder was only used by default keyboard), it still twisted to the right. I think I did what I was supposed to; went to the folder and deleted all joystick/keyboard/mouse assignments except default (headtrack and trackIR were there too, but only default files).
  6. Hi, I have a problem. I have an X-52 Pro Throttle that I bought in January. I stepped away from DCS for about a month, and now that I started to pull it up again I am having a problem with the rudder. I have it assigned to the "twist" part of the stick, and for some reason when I quickly give it rudder to the right, it will sometimes STICK there. It does not happen all the time, only sometimes. I have gone through and remapped the controls. I have pulled out the USB plug for it, and put it back in. The stick axes commands are all done through the game (the others through Saitek software), and I have cleared it and reinstalled. It still sticks. I checked the joystick through Windows, working fine. When it "sticks", if I press "z" on the keyboard, it recenters itself (and z is the opposite way of the way it sticks...it doesn't go to the left by pressing z when stuck, just brings the rudder back to neutral position...very odd). Has anyone else experienced this or any thing like this, and if so what did you do to correct it? (for now, I think I am just going to have to remap the rudder command to something else, but I really don't like it that it is doing this)
  7. Aha, so I am not the only one. Definitely gave me headaches, people didn't believe me and were hesitant to take it back, but they did (minus 15%). I agree, try before you buy.
  8. It gave me headaches!
  9. What is really sad is that the game doesn't come with a manual. A *.pdf file does not work, especially when you want to check out how to do something in the middle of the game...nothing beats having that manual at your side. I ended up having mine printed and bound, probably $50 when all was done. So to have a true flight simulator you have to pay $100. Shame that the people who make such an incredible sim would not supply the manual.
  10. Thank you for linking to Wikipedia as if i haven't already checked that! Second, that page doesn't explain anything covering the complex aerodynamics of autorotation which would explains the unintuitive rotation directing of the rotors during autorotation and nether does any other page I found! That was rather unfriendly of him. When someone asks a question, it doesn't mean their incapable of using a search engine. It means they are looking to see if the people that frequent these boards know the answer.
  11. Okay, just me, but if you want a refund shouldn't you contact the company itself (maybe by e-mail)? Posting on a forum, well, that just doesn't seem like it will accomplish what you want. By the way, I loved the "World According to America" map. Damn Euro-people, no escalators or TV. We should rank them right behind the commies and dragons!
  12. Don't you ever, EVER, say my kid was late for the school bus again! OKAY?!? :pilotfly:
  13. Hmm, that is a great question. I have not hit the campaign yet, so I don't know. The way it seems to work I would tend to think "no," but I really don't know for sure. I'm anxious to hear the answer, too.
  14. From what has been said so far, yes, it will be the same thing. It will not come out with the new patch, not enough time (patch is hoped for in March). I have had 3 situations come up (one because I messed up, two from trying to use a 3rd party program) where I have had to reinstall. From everything I've asked, I only used ONE activation. I only had to put in the serial code # during the initial installation, my reinstalls did not ask for it. I was told that if I only used the # once, I only used one activation. There are also 10 DE-activations. So in reality, you have 18 of them to use. If you deactivate and reinstall, they have said that will NOT use an activation (but will take 1 deactivation off; so I just think of it as 18 total times). They've also said, if for some insane reason, you do use everything, to contact them and they'll take it on a case-by-case basis. So it is not really installs, it is ACTIVATIONS that count (and de-, of course) Awesome Sim, best I've seen, no doubt. Not perfect, some bugs/improvements could be made, but overall the best sim put out to date (from my standpoint). I say buy it, the download was INCREDIBLY easy and safe!
  15. Yup, I started her up in Single Player and it worked fine. I would download again if it is still saying corruption.
  16. This might be one that downloads as a *.zip, you have to rename it to a *.miz file. Maybe that will sove it. I'm trying it now.
  17. Just because I can't resist the moment to display my first landing, blown-tire and all. Hey, I didn't blow-up, and that was a first!
  18. I am kind of bored, so I will try to make a good list. I will link to the mission, and then to the thread...hope it works well for you (...and I claim no credit at all for anything except compiling this list; the excellent modders' threads are there so you can go and thank them; they did it all!). 1. 20. As Arrrggghhh, Steve, the Pirate always says, "Me matees, dat' little rodent doing the click'n'view 'ting, 'tis all I be needen'; 'til me finds me burrey'd treasures, 'course!" I couldn't agree with you more, Mr. Arrrggghhh, Steve, the Pirate!
  21. If you made backups of the 4 files affected, you can reload them (one is a *.cdds file that just gets deleted). Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Bazar\World\Shapes\ka-50.skins Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Bazar\World\Ka-50_NewYear.cdds (just delete this one) Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Config\graphics.cfg Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Database\db_countries.lua Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Database\helicopters\Ka-50.lua That should bring you back to where you where when you made the copies, and then you can install the new ones you want. You can also manually edit these, taking out the "NewYear Skin" lines everywhere. I believe that should work, too, but it is a big pain. I tried juggling around some things to get the Canadian pack to work earlier, and wow, what a pain. It didn't work, either, but for simply removing the one skin I think it should. If you have back-ups, that is probably the easiest route. If you need back-ups, I still have mine from initial installation, just let me know.
  22. Wow, another full month. I hope that thing does some serious bug-squashing. Will the "mouse clickable and viewable cockpit" be implemented as a feature, the one you press escape twice to get?
  23. C'mon, there's only one TRUE Pirate: STEVE THE PIRATE "ARRHHGGGG! Average Joe's be the only place for me!"
  24. In the editor, click on any point of the flight, go to the menu on the right, then, right below the "hidden on map" part, click on the middle of the 5 buttons to go to "loadout" (if you hover the mouse over it, it will say loadout), and there they are. Just choose the one you want. You can scroll up and down, as there are many choices. In the lower right of this screen, you can pick skins. There will be a drop-down menu with probably "standard" in it, click on it and it shows you the skins you have. Choose any of them to fly with that skin. Go up to "flight" at the top of the page, click "fly mission," then either save over this one or make a new name and therefore a new mission; then you are off to the launch-pad! As of now, I have 32 flyable ones! I think Mitch is the best-bang-for-the-buck right now, you get 10 or so skins added to what comes default. My favorite is the "24"-scheme, the black with yellow box-lines, and then Canadian Navy is very cool, USMC Gray and this Gray are all good. The one in the above shots is EURO Gray (old), which is in the skin-pack from Mitch, an excellent skin-maker. I also like the Canadian SAR a lot, I think it is for search-and-rescue (makes sense with the very bright colors). The Canadian ones are done by RCN_Moose, a very talented skinner. CANADIAN SAR: My favorite: The "24" paint-scheme (I bet it's Jack flying it! Sorry, I just couldn't resist the opportunity!:smilewink:)
