  1. the jeff is full fidelity , but u can delegate chores. make the chores like full ins alignment, and the maverick alignment optional for delegation to the ground crew. same for waypoints, set them in f10 and let the ground crew update the data card (if i remember correctly from that other sim the f16 has a data card as well.). Which is a nice bridge to full fidelity wich the f16 is not. it has buttons that say click and do nothing. The real f16 has a datatransfer cartridge, its non existant in dcs. many many things aren't there. Jeff is what a full fidelity plane should be. there are plans to make the f16 full fidelity, it is not at the moment.
  2. That missiles need to be aligned is realistic, but that the pilot needs to do it when he enters the plane is not realistic, ground crew can pre-align the missille if u ask them. but u cant in dcs. The plane needs to be cleaned and washed from time to time as well, The airframe needs to be checked regularly also. It's not done by the pilot. things as waiting minutes, or doing repetetive chores is not what i like. Fine that i can learn them but once i did, i don't think i'll enjoy aligning mavs for the 1000th time. Also this full fidelity f16 is not full fidelity at all yet. Its an early access module. NOBODY asked for 8 minutes alignment or the boresight procedure. We don't have ground radar sea radar of any of the toys on the jf17. And what do they implement? chores. For me, i was really excited when i found out about the f16, i did not realize that it was missing so much. the mavs are actually a hassle to use in my opinion and the cbu97's are hassle free, more fun and more effective. i can't set spi, no ground radar. yes full clickable cockpit, all kind of buttons that say click an animate and do nothing. I tried the jf17 during the free trials and bought that one. update dtc data - copy. f10 click click click BAM waypoints set. you can shoot cruise missiles drag bombs, have al kinds of radars and modes, buttons work. in the f16...waiting for 8 minutes ins align. lets put in 1 waypoint, go to f10, change so its metric, get a pen and paper north 12.23.34423 east 32.12.31231 ok press wpt, N put in all the numbers from youre note. next put in easting, remember to add a 0... ok now elevation, first waypoint done. f10 map, not next waypoint back to plane, put in the waypoint. do the same for the other 15 waypoints. when done with that chore, get ready to find a target to align the missiles, aah to bad this airport has no object to align on, ah well. lets startover at another field. meanwhile in the jeff i am actually having fun. its the full fidelity kind i like, and it doesn't feel unrealistic at all. Also i have not found any bug. auto-ins alignment takes about 30 seconds. i can get ground crew to enter coordinates, i know how to do it the hard way too, but i need to do it every time i start up so. I am very glad i can delegate the chores i dont like to do everytime and with the jeff i get those options, i only miss one thing and that's the vipers thrust and speed.
  3. i bought the thing during sale someday, i remember learning to take off and all was fine. but when i take off i a mission like a min after take off the engine just dies. had this 5 times in a row, als the trim did not work, probably doing something stupid wrong, but it made me lose all interest in this plane. ragequited, unistalled and never touched it since
  4. didn't speed up the track file, but second time i played it it was ok. for some reason. tacview really helped. some of my 100% should have hit...would have hit if the poor guy was not killed my someone else like .2 seconds earlier..... Others had some sheer luck where there is some small obstakle in the way at exactly the right moment. But i still think the missiles are way to easy to evade, i see mainly furballs on multiplayer where people shoot aim120's at close range. It's not a realistic result, close up dogfights in jets are not the majority of fights in reality it's mostly bvr and bvr kills. in dcs bvr means you're not close enough to fire that aim120c to get a hit...if these dcs missiles where real i doubt u get payed $350.000 per missille. i fired six, several at mach1.3 within mar, where the missile will track right when it comes from the rail...in reality a very scary missile within those parameters. these missiles can be trashed most of the time. whereas in reality i think you would not trash it most of the time...it's possible but should be darn hard...
  5. i put it in bypass mode (manual chaff/flare 1 per trigger), or you can edit the different programs. i think its in the special tab in settings
  6. I've read that weirdly enough the client decides the hit in multiplayer. Some clients seem to fire missiles that should be renamed missers, they don't track well, they usually don't hit, or when they hit the plane just flies on and is not affected. For me usually my first flight works normal, but when i landed and rearmed i seem to be unable to get any hits. When i watch the track i see the radar cursor moving but the radar is at a different range and the targets are not actually locked like i was was i was flying. then in the track i fire some maddog missiles which i NEVER do. Then i crash into the ground, don't know what idiot was flying in the track file but it sure wasn't me.
  7. that said. For the love of god ED. save the updates on 8 minute ins alignment and boresight update for last next time, and give us the toys that are missing. When this full fidelity airplane is actually full fidelity we are ready for the things like ins alignment and the wash the plane update.
  8. The bug is quite annoying, especially when the autoscaling happens right after you fired a missile before it went pitbull. I've learned to avoid the rws mode, which is really a shame because it has it uses... fortunately i can stt from tws. The bug is ok to deal with if you know it's a bug and the autoscale makes the lock break, but the annoying thing is facing this bug and having to search forums what's wrong. After reading and looking at the dates nobody is getting the idea this is gonna be fixed any time soon, but there is only so much work you can do at once. I am sure it will be addressed. Also legacy code can make things hard sometimes to change things around. The only thing that is find sometimes hard to understand is why there is worked on so much different items at once. I'd say finish one module from early access to full release and iron out the bugs before beginning on the next module. It would save a lot of resource management, and will probably increase focus and development flow. Fortunately it seems ED has said to focus on the f18 and focus on a next module thereafter. However with the highly anticipated ah64... I won't be complaining if the range bug still exist and the apache is available :)\
  9. I made sure to support the missiles for a while now. at least till they go pitbull, but many missiles fail to hit. Often when i investigate the track file i see that in the track the radar range is different then what i used and i see the cursor moving where i locked the target but in the track file the is not target on the radar, so nothing is locked. then i fire the missile wich in the track is maddog. so in the track its logical it wont track or hit....but that is nOT why i did! I am doing it right but in multiplayer i can't get hits...It's so frustrating it completely ruins the multiplayer experience and the skill u have trained is now useless.... either my client sees enemies on a different spot than they actually are, or dcs messes up the link wether a target is locked or not. so i see the target as locked but dcs is thinking i am firing maddog missiles. it would also really help if the track file is fixed...so that it represents how the flight actually went down, especially if its needed for tracking bugs.
  10. I think it's a big mistake not to focus on multiplayer, multiplayer gaming is what helps to form a community. There used to be not much need for multiplayer with only an a10 and maybe a ka50...but now.... Probably multiplayer is what will make dcs big....it's should have focus.... If the client decides hits, why does mine always decide to shoot missiles that wont track, when i watch the track file i am not locking up the target on radar but seem to move the cursor around on the radar in a range of 160nm wich i never use, not locking targets and shooting missiles just maddog, then i crash into the ground....complete fantasy this track file....however maybe the track file is what is really happening and when i actually fly i think i lock stuff on radar but it's fake? It's very frustrating, u can't watch the track file because its bugged. and you are firing bvr missilles from within mar keep the track supported till pitbull, enemy doesnt even evade and its a miss.....its a miss because its in multiplayer...if i try to do it single player everything is working as expected. (ace ai, that evades when fired at so no drone). maybe someone can make a mod. server should decide on hits.
  11. Thx! I have nvidia. ill change the setting.
  12. Often when I switch from a dcs multiplayer session to another monitor to for example look in a browser or srs results in a loading screen. (the black screen with DCS in big yellow letters). There is no other way around this then to kill dcs via the taskmanager, and start everything over. starting up dcs, getting into multiplayer and then starting the plane....it can be very annoying. To anyone experiencing the same please report it or if u found a fix I would love to know how to fix this. due to the nature of the bug no track file included.
  13. i love it man. now i can align the missiles, shooting them is such a waste, love the ins alignment too. hope we can wash and vacuum the plane after the next update. fingers crossed.
  14. pro: its fast. cons: - full fidelity price for a clickable low fidelity flaming cliffs aircraft, not much focus from dev's either. i shelved it and got the jeff, she is imo way more interesting in many ways atm. Maybe u should try the jeff or maybe the f14.
  15. i was mistaken, its the growling sidewinder server....sorry.... knew it was something with a missille lol..
  16. I also have these problems, also after the first time spawned. i seem to be unable to get any missile hits, in tacview i don't even see myself anymore, only the first spawn. growling sidewinder server?
  17. Have you checked if the server you are playing on is maybe intentionally messing with the AIM's failure probability? The guys at Just Dogfight use this to make sure people do not use BVR weapons for example (https://justdogfight.com/map/) It's the server by glowing amraam, do you know how i can check?
  18. i leave the nosewheel steering off at 8o knots, rudders still work a bit and u can be as rough with them as you want, u can also use the brakes to steer a bit, when rudder does nothing anymore i engage nosewheel steering but u need to be gentle with it. Do u have the rudder set to an axis or do you use your keyboard? Try trim the plane a bit for landing, in the beginning don't go to slow. I find 170 knots with speedbrakes out nice for a final approach, 190 - 200 knots before the final approach (brakes out). I use about 8 degrees angle of attack and cut the throttle when i am about to touchdown. on touchdown increase from 8 to 11-13 degrees aoa, keep pulling the stick back (harder and harder) to maintain 13 degrees aoa until it is impossible. then start braking. i have set this to an axis but i can imagine on a keyboard you need to do some tapping.
  19. that and the tgp should be soi. One more thing, first focus on learning the TGP with laser bombs. Also learn it's modes, like snowplough. Don't use it in conjunction with mav's until you have a good understanding of the tgp and mavericks using the maverick seeker. make sure to watch wag's f16 viper tutorials and try doing it yourself, it should get you up to speed, and you'll learn it the proper way.
  20. The trick is to get proficient at aerobraking because thats the best brakes there are for the f16. basically keep pulling up the nose and maintain 13 degrees during the first fase of the landing, as you slow down you need to increase the pull, when its no longer possible to keep the nosewheel up start using the brakes (fase2), i keep pulling on the stick to maximize drag on surfaces. The lighter you are the easier it is to land. flying at 105 knots is way too low, the plane becomes too unresponsive. come in with speedbrakes out at about 160-180 knots, cut the throttle when you are close to the runway, and focus keep that cross at 13 degrees, and using ailerons to stay on the runway. Also, i think learning to land at 105 knots is dangerous, I would stick to landing the viper the same way it lands in real life, once you feel it it will work out. She lands very elegant, but it's tricky.
  21. I have the exact issue consistently, in multiplayer (ping ~100ms) last patch made it worse. what is interesting its the same server: Server: growling sidewinder Many missiles seem wonky.
  22. I know. These large track files then still are not very good for bugfixing. This particurlar trck desynced or something,
  23. I checked offline mode, and i have no issues with the aim120 whatsoever. It only seems to happen in multiplayer where it feels something is not right. Evading missiles seems much simpler too. The track file is missing because it's a multiplayer .trck file. I know we are expected to post a track file. But I can't because it's too large. I could post it via 3rd party but the track file is not how things went down. Do not expect me to first have to buy the software and then spend hours on reproducing bugs and make that fit in a 5 min trck file, that often is corrupt anyway. I like DCS but not that much. I just hope it's either not a bug or it's get fixed, that's about it.
  24. Hereby the tacview file. all missiles are fired in range. first 2 or 3 don't track. one start tracking an ally for no reason (missiles all fired in slave tws), but fortunately misses. i need to get in gun range before my missiles work. This happens the entire time. all my missiles do weird stuff, i am 100% sure this is not how the real missiles work. this is not a good similation of how the missiles work. i know pre-patch the aims have problems too but it wasn't this bad. plz rollback the work done on the aim120c so we can get half decent missiles until the problems are fixed. i have the track files but they are 90 mb and from a multiplayer server. i can add screenshots of the missiles fired if needed. i've been looking at my track files, and i notice in the replay there is not the lock i been getting when i play. i just see myself firing aims without a lock, in reality i did get a lock obviously. i have about 100 ms lag on the growling sidewinder server. But i may assume the server handles the missile not the client so lag should be a real issue. at least not for missiles. buggedaim120.zip.acmi
