  1. You think you could fix the VSN F-14 mod as well? That would incredibly appreciated if so. My friends and I use it quite a lot.
  2. Here is a video of me flying two short flights in Normandy, same settings in both (I show my settings at start of video), these are the recommended settings per developer post: MSAA and Anisotropic off if you are running deferred shading. Now I always had these maxed before no problems and I don't like the way it looks without them, but for this test it is how I set it. First flight is just one A-10A on the map, nothing else. It runs fairly smooth, frames are decent, thought they still jump quite a bit, but visually it is very playable. You will see the FPS in the top left corner on both flights. Second flight I take off in the same A-10A, same runway, but this is a mission I made last night, it has about a dozen ships, no other aircraft except 2 KA-50s, there are several infantry platoons and some tanks and APCs and some trigger zones for the amphibious landings. All units are modern. You can see the difference in the performance. The same thing happens in NTTR since the update, though there I can even run Constant Peg II mission and get frames over 100 with these settings, but if I run a mission I made about the same size as this one, I get the stutter. So question being, is the presence of user placed ground units and AI air doing this? Has anyone else experienced this difference? Hope this is of some use to the dev team at the least. PS The video is unlisted, I'm not showing off alpha bugs to public searches on YouTube
  3. It is not VR specific, I use TrackIR and I can see the stutter a little looking forward, but when I turn my head left or right I can see my wing tip inching along the sky in jumps a half second apart.
  4. I thought this worked for me, but it didn't, when I play a mission I've made (even a new small one I did tonight in Normandy) the stuttering is still really bad. I had been fooled by playing the Constant Peg mission after renaming the folder (then re-importing my inputs etc) and it ran fine, but no user made mission runs well. Good luck though.
  5. I have a 1070 as well (I think I posted in another thread you were in Voodoo?) but run 1440p (maxed settings and great FPS prior to 2.1), anyway I was having horrible stuttering and I played with settings for hours last night. I eventually tried the saved games folder rename 'solution' and I thought it worked, posted that it was a great fix.. Well, what I had done though was play one of my missions in NTTR, saw bad stuttering, made the folder change, then tried Constant Peg mission and my frames were really high again. Tried Normandy with just my plane and a few ships and all went well and so I thought it was fixed. So then I made a little mission tonight in Normandy with some ground units and a few more ships and the stutter is worse than ever. Retried the original mission in NTTR where I first saw the stuttering and it is still there. For me as with others on here, using the Nvidia control panel does nothing, I have to use Msaa and Anisotropic in game, and in the Constant Peg mission I can run them high with Deferred Shading and things look great and I have no stutters. If I turn Msaa down and Anisotropic off the edges of my cockpit, especially the HUD frames look extremely jagged, which is really odd, because in many other games I can turn anisotropic and AA off and edges still looks smooth at 1440p. I tried your settings (thanks for taking the time to test and post them) and it was if I had changed nothing unfortunately. I'm so confused at this point I may just put 2.1 aside until they sort this out.
  6. Well, I take back everything I said about the saved games folder fixing the game, it doesn't. When I play an instant action or a mission that comes with a module, it is fine, but any mission I have made, including a small one I made tonight in Normandy the stuttering is still really bad, regardless of my settings. Hope the next update comes soon.
  7. I did the saved folder trick and frames shot back up. I set my AA in Nvidia but I don't see an MSAA in the control panel, so I left it in DCS, fps still good. Is it under another name? However the flare/glare is outrageous Normandy, especially over the water, anyone else having this. I can't see things right in front or next to me at times because of it.
  8. This worked for me as well.
  9. Thanks for the tips guys, I have a feeling something is going on here. Bitmaster is that at 1440p? Is there a thread in particular that has the best info?
  10. Here is my system: i7-4770K @3.50GHz EVGA 1070 8GB Superclocked MSI Z97 Gaming Samsung SSD 16GB ram I am running on a 32" 1440p monitor and have been playing 2.0 on the max settings, with the exception of turning Msaa down to 4x and Anisotropic to 4x, and was getting good frames, 50-60 range. Running 2.1 and I have already turned off msaa and anisotropic entirely, turned trees and clutter down to minimum, set my cockpit displays to 512 and fold the mirrors as soon as I start and my frames jump from 21, 60, 32, 21, 70, 30, 60, 21, 2-3 times a second and visually it looks like I'm getting 15 frames a second. If I am going to have to turn down settings to the low or medium default with a system like mine, something is seriously wrong. Anyone have a 1070 and run 1440p? What are your settings and frames?
  11. Glad you guys like it, I will add a second optional version where the ground unit labels are uniform and the aircraft labels are visible a little farther out. I saw an old label mod in this thread and thought it's where they went, what do you think would be the best thread for this, mods?
  12. Awesome, I am familiar with triggers and have been using them a lot making missions, so I won't have too many questions for you ha. What days are you on? I've spoken with some people before in your channel a couple of times, really cool guys.
  13. Yeah, agreed it does seem to work best, I tried both for several landings. A tutorial would be really great, I have it working except I can only use it in the menu mode, in other words I have to select '2' in the manual and then resume the game with my overlay being the manual screen and not the rest of the cam features on the left and right side as in your videos, am I missing something? We (myself and 4 of my friends who are learning how to do the approaches and the vLSO grading) would really love to have the voice scripts you have on the videos, it just ain't the same without hearing 'roger ball' Thanks for the help
  14. Excellent, downloading now! Which crosshair setting would you recommend for 1440p?
  15. Your site and tutorials are an inspiration, great work. I have all your mods except the VLSO/PLAT cam mod, the link isn't working, is there another link perhaps? This is the one I was trying to use http://www.users.on.net/~jase_ash/http:/www.users.on.net/~jase_ash/styled-14/index.html
  16. This is for those who still want some help recognizing targets, but do not want the Moby Dick of text covering the entire map. I couldn't find one for Nevada that did what the label mods did in 1.5, so I made this one and am happy with it. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByhQ1W740NKGVkdXdlJ1OEZqVUE Put it here- C:\Users\YOURNAME\Saved Games\DCS.openalpha\Config\View - do not overwrite the main label file in the programs pathway. Putting it here also protects the mod from updates. This still requires visual ID only the colors are the same, all ground units use _ for near and + for mid range, nothing for far, and air uses ' for near and ^ for mid range. No text at any range. I prefer no labels in solo missions but playing with my friends who want labels, this is a compromise. Examples: Enemy ground Enemy Air http://i.imgur.com/ZoqSUD6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/NCQlISc.jpg Enemy and Friendly Ground http://i.imgur.com/RoUFydy.jpg
  17. Since the labels format is slightly different in 2.0, who has a working labels setup that works like this one in 1.5? Just want to make sure I'm about to do this correctly. Here is what is in 2.0 AirFormat = { --[distance] = {format, alignment, color_blending_k, opacity, shift_in_pixels_x, shift_in_pixels_y} [500] = EMPTY, [2000] = {aircraft_symbol_near..NAME_DISTANCE_PLAYER , "LeftBottom" ,0.75 , 0.7 , -3 , 0}, [5000] = {aircraft_symbol_near..NAME_DISTANCE , "LeftBottom" ,0.75 , 0.5 , -3 , 0}, [15000] = {aircraft_symbol_far ..DISTANCE , "LeftBottom" ,0.25 , 0.25 , -3 , 0}, [20000] = dot_symbol(0,0.1), } GroundFormat = { --[distance] = {format , alignment, color_blending_k, opacity, shift_in_pixels_x, shift_in_pixels_y} [10] = EMPTY, [5000] = {ground_symbol_near..NAME_DISTANCE_PLAYER ,"LeftBottom" ,0.75 , 0.7 , -3 , 0}, [10000] = {ground_symbol_far..NAME_DISTANCE ,"LeftBottom" ,0.75 , 0.5 , -3 , 0}, [20000] = dot_symbol(0.75, 0.1), } NavyFormat = { --[distance] = {format, alignment, color_blending_k, opacity, shift_in_pixels_x, shift_in_pixels_y} [10] = EMPTY, [10000] = {navy_symbol_near ..NAME_DISTANCE ,"LeftBottom" ,0.75 , 0.7 , -3 , 0}, [20000] = {navy_symbol_far ..DISTANCE ,"LeftBottom" ,0.75 , 0.5 , -3 , 0}, [40000] = dot_symbol(0.75,0.1), } WeaponFormat = { --[distance] = {format ,alignment, color_blending_k, opacity, shift_in_pixels_x, shift_in_pixels_y} [5] = EMPTY, [5000] = {weapon_symbol_near ..NAME_DISTANCE ,"LeftBottom" ,0.75 , 0.7 , -3 , 0}, [10000] = {weapon_symbol_far ..DISTANCE ,"LeftBottom" ,0.75 , 0.5 , -3 , 0}, [20000] = {weapon_symbol_far ,"LeftBottom" ,0.25 , 0.25 , -3 , 0}, }
  18. Razo+r, my apologies, I did not have the SAM site built correctly in my test mission. I am able to fire Alarms by using the 'weapon fire' command, apparently it doesn't need 'weapon release'.
  19. I've personally had the best luck with the VSN mods by putting them directly into the default mod folder, I only used JSGME for terrains etc. The flyable F4 will appear as yellow in a countries drop down list, if it's not there then that country can't have it as far as I know.
  20. This one has worked for me Robert https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cx3et8f0y1hilbx/AAAQh1BnoUaOYFgcQQqPVz0ha/Version%201.5.6?dl=0&preview=VSN_F4E%2BAG%2BAFM+v1.5.6.01+(Avionik+mit+CMD+auswaelen).zip
  21. Just seeing this (need to learn how to follow threads on this forum type), thank you so much! When you say rename it, where do I change the name, in TacView or in the mod somewhere? Again, so cool you're updating this to read the VSN mods, I do fly quite a few of them. Edit: I found it, renamed it using the object properties within Taview and it worked, cheers
  22. Such an amazing set of mods, I've really enjoyed the F-14 and 18. Which Tornado/avionics are you using to do this? I can't get any missiles or bombs to fire. I can cycle between them in the HUD, I am able to lock on to targets with the target cursor/TV pod, but I only have a 'weapon fire' option which will fire the cannon (in that mode), but nothing will release my bombs or fire the Sea Eagles and Alarms. I would love to do SEAD and anti-ship stuff in the Tornado. Edit: I just noticed that when I run the A-10A or SU-25T .cmd files in the Tornado mod folder, nothing changes and the 'VSN_Tornado_cpt' zip that is inside the textures folder only contains files for the SU-27. So I re-downloaded the 'VSN_Tornado v1.5.6.02 (Avionik mit CMD auswaelen)' and this is indeed all it contains. Am I missing something?
  23. I visited today and took these photos. I was disappointed that they no longer allow you to sit in the F-14 cockpit and it was so dark inside the hangar that had I not had my full frame with fast lens I would not have gotten these photos as I did. What little light that came in reflected on the canopy and so I did the best I could on the cockpit of the Tomcat. I really cannot wait until she comes out :pilotfly: https://goo.gl/photos/FkYhaZmG91SbNFag7
