Yeah the CMR rain looked amazing in it's day...it still might now I just don't play it anymore. There are a lot of "rain on the windscreen" in games out there, so I don't think it's a particularly hard thing to do...maybe in an update then :D If anyone has played Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 on the 360 (it may be on the PS3 as well, but I don't think it's on the PC yet) had a bit where your on a minigun hanging out the side of a black hawk and it was raining. The rain was collecting and spiraling off sections of the chopper, it looked amazing! Regards Paul

Good post. Regards Paul

So it renders out and doesn't play back and capture? You see this is an important difference, one you shouldn't get any frame rate issues (depending on how it's done) and the other is why Glowing's method is useful. Regards Paul
-
Do you mean it records the playback of the track or renders out the track without actually running it? Regards Paul

Ooooh they look nice. Keep up the good work. Regards Paul

LoCFG fixes little things like that for you, I don't know why more people don't use it. Regards Paul

Weird font used in LO-FC with AA on
DTWD replied to JaBoG32_Prinzartus's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Not sure, I don't see this myself but then again I am not using an ATI. You could try enabling/disabling windows clear type and see if that helps. Failing that it might be down to the way you apply the AA. On the NVIDIA cards you can choose to override, enhance or go with the program on the AA and AF side of things. I had a similar "glitch" to this when I chose to enhance Stalkers graphics with AA. However on LOMAC I use the over ride command and everything looks fine. I lived with it with Stalker and it's not the biggest problem so I wouldn't spend too long trying to fix it. Regards Paul -
No they said the problem would be fixed in the English version of BS and that this was relevent for the CIS release. Although I think ED is now pretty much switched on to the fact that certain westerners are playing the CIS release. Regards Paul

It's at the top of the page on a sticky. The bug is/was where Track IR would stop working in the sim. You deleted an ini file (LoCFG does it for me on every game load) and it would be re-created and it worked again. Regards Paul
-
I would imagine the best way of doing it would be like Glowing Amrams tutorial for LOMAC in the screens shots forum. This aproach doesn't use the track method, well does, but doesn't. Regards Paul

Just saw the post, I think that's what it's for isn't it? I think what he was saying is the file was protected by starforce (from tampering) so deleting it to fix the Track IR bug (I am assuming it's still there as it was in LOMAC) would cause problems? Regards Paul

Recommended training before Black Shark arrives?
DTWD replied to McVittees's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
There was something similar on James May's Big Ideas about a month or so ago, twas rather crazy. Regards Paul -
I want to ask if there is any news with ANYTHING to do with BS, I mean it's been weeks since we heard they were sending off the manual to be checked and that was it. A lot can happen in a few weeks, people could be nearly finished with the demo and all that kind of stuff. Anyway I know not to ask about any of that so I won't. However I will ask this: Are the recent announcments by the ESRB (regarding the new information that parents can check on the games there kids are playing) as well as any changes ED are making to the sim (regarding the copyprotection) causing any delays on the classification front? Regards Paul

I see, I understand now. I would imagine any slight differences will be lost when it's get's compressed to a sensible size for the web anyway. But yes it might be interesting to see some shots and an indication of frame rate for that particular shot as well. Regards Paul

What do you think is going to look different to you running it at full settings? Regards Paul

Do you get to pick from any codec on your system or is it just the two? And when you say "the microsoft one" do you mean WMV? WMV and Divx are technically very similar so both can output high quality well compressed HD video. I think WMV has the edge on what it will take and compress, but it's a lot harder to use. If you can export, and have the space and machine with enough performance, export as uncompressed AVI and compress later. All compression works better with multiple passes. Regards Paul

Has Saitek pulled there finger out yet and released a final of the latest software? It seems to have been months since the beta. Regards Paul

Don't get into the game late. At this stage I would be waiting until next year/end of this year and either get yourself a brand new gen (or rejigged gen) or pick yourself one of the current monsters slightly cheaper when there replacements are released. It's a tough call at the moment to pick the best card, hopefully we should see something a bit more definative from both camps to help us make a decision. Sadly both camps have good cards, but for different reasons. Regards Paul

It depends on what your trying to achieve with your video. Glowing's approach is a more an action film trailer type of aproach. Fast cuts and pounding music giving the impression of speed. That is fine for what it is, but if your trying to tell a story it's useless, unless of course the story calls for an intense action sequence. If you watch his video's they get the heart pounding but they are only loosly tied together, there is no back story, what your trying to do is different. Just a quick glance through the IMDB top 250 will show you that story counts, although trying to get enough variety of matierial out of LOMAC may be difficult you have shown that it can be done with the right approach. What your trying to do is a little different to what people tend to do with LOMAC. It's not action set pieces it's a progression of an action story and a story needs exposition, we need to know what's going on and for what reasons, we need charectorisation etc. Post part two. Then if you want go back and re-capture parts of the this story, re-edit etc and release a directors cut :D. Don't forget all films go through different cuts of varying quality and test audiences and some end up very different in the end. With any media/design work I do I always work under the principle that you need to be prepaired to cut your favorite part, be it film, audio a part of a design, anything. Go into your projects objectivly and your work will be better for it. Good luck with part 2, I am looking forward to it. Regards Paul

I think this is all just been a bit of a misunderstanding. I get the impression he thought you were planning on submitting it for packaging in the DCS where as in reality your not. For LOMAC it's brilliant and is by far and away a far superior model to the one currently installed. Just one small simple to answer question...when are you guys doing the rest of the objects :D Regards Paul

I do like crude humour and this made me laugh, sadly I was drinking a cup of tea at the time and nearly choked and did spit tea all over my glasses and down my clean white shirt...so thanks :joystick: :D:lol::megalol: Regards Paul -
