  1. Half right. I can't be bothered to go into detail, but suffice to say any input device the higher the refresh rate the better. Your thinking about video filmed on a video camera, which is an entirely different kettle of fish.
  2. Off topic I know but please please please get this idea out of your head. 64bit is the future, Vista should have never been shipped in 32bit and I do hope the new Windows isn't.
  3. You might not be able too, I know LOMAC didn't let you asign alot of what you would consider analogue controls to an axis. The work around is using the SST and banding. It's not perfect but it's better than nothing.
  4. It could be that they are named .jpg or .jpeg and your system only recognises one of them. It's a codec issue on your machine if it's the case. What is the extension name of the file?
  5. Working fine now cheers Ironhand.
  6. What your talking about is the extra oomph at resolution but I don't think they see any real advantage over current (and even last gen to a degree) GPUs in BS/FC.
  7. In that case wait. NV has it's die shrink out soon, plus they are dying a bit of a death with the 200 series so expect something new pretty soon from them, they have too although I haven't heard of anything. ATI seem to be stealing the lead at the moment and ED games seem to prefer ATI architecture, and on that subject ATI apparantly has something new in the works and if this is the case NV have lost this round and need to regroup. The NV cards at the moment seem like good cards, but have a few problems, one being the price. The ATI cards have there own problems but they cost less. The 4870x2 is a great card and is the fastest on the market at the moment (when it used to it's full potential). I am due a new GPU and I am just waiting until the new year, new card and BS in the same few months.
  8. No re-downloaded it and it doesn't work, I think the file size is to small.
  9. I don't think there is any difference using duel cards over a single GPU, sorry.
  10. Thats probably because PS can open lots of different file types where as your other editor may not be able too. Windows should be able to see them no matter what though.
  11. Well it's not the same unless your using an IR LED expansion for FreeTrack. I play in low light conditions with a 27" monitor in my face. The ambient light is dark but the light from the monitor (which doubles up as a search light it's that bright) is ever changing with the game. Not the best conditions for picking up movement. If you do have the IR expansion...then you have more free time than me. Also doesn't FreeTrack run at 30fps/hz (which ever one it is) where TiR runs at 120fps/hz (which ever one it is)? Oh and I have TiR4 + expansion.
  12. Bums, it's corrupted for me. "Unexpected end of archive". I feel it's not downloaded the whole thing I will try again.
  13. Erm...I don't think any of the content on Wikipedia is copyrighted by wikipedia. The copyright (if any) is owned by the place(s) that the authors got there info, and if they have changed it sufficiently (when it's news) then it's not copyrighted anymore. If he qoutes then it's fine anyway. He is also doing a community website, I don't think the copyright infringment nazi's are going to be comming down too hard on him do you?
  14. He can't...because this mod looks amazing! Although apparantly the airbases in BS look like this with activity and the like...I wonder if that was him?!?
  15. Oh I forgot to ask, have you overclocked your Q6600? Regards Paul
  16. What do you mean by "jaggy"? Post a screen shot (full res) of the footage before and after the compression.
  17. I can't speak for your G25's, but rudder pedals usually work as one axis. I know my Saitek ones do but they also rock so you can use that rocking action as the brake switch.
  18. Well there are f18 mods out there (as far as I know) so your probably after an artist/painter to create you a custom skin?
  19. From what I understand ALL Naturalpoint hardware will work, but anything none TiR won't.
  20. The thing about requests is you can make as many and for whatever outcome or reason you want, the problem comes from if they are listened too. Naturalpoint could have supplied everyone at ED with a life time supply of TiR products and paid them some money etc etc. Remember ED doesn't have to support any third party hardware if it doesn't want too. It would be silly, but they don't have too. Maybe ED are using some propriatry code from Naturalpoint who have requested it remains protected (by SF) and it kind of ties there hands without them re-writing everything. And the reason for Naturalpoint wanting a monopoly? Proffit, they are a business after all.
  21. What mod is it your after? It may be that it already exists. Failing it already being in existance mods come in all shapes sizes and require different skills, so more information would be handy :D
  22. Who says? I thought they patched the CIS version to accept other inputs and the western one will be out the box?
  23. What's with the huge gaps appearing under my sig on short posts? I notice it doesn't happen to other people. The size of the gap seems to be a bit random as well.
  24. I was just wondering how many of the regulars on here are being patient and waiting or have taken the plunge and gone for the Russian version. And in reality how many of you are actually going to purchase the western version now you have the "converted" Russian version?
  25. The 280 doesn't seem to see a massive FPS improvement as say the 4870 does. The settings I use on my 8800GT are 4xAA 4xAF and set it to override game settings. Oh and the new driver set was out the other day, might be worth a punt.
