  1. Is it just me or european customers seem to be the third wheel of The VKB market ? Pretty odd.
  2. Are you implying all the DCS planes are simulating precisely the systems of their real world counterpart ? I have some doubts about this assertion.
  3. Because we don't know, does not mean it does not exist. This is a pretty bold move to state that your point of view is the only thruth. I'd take what a 3rd party is willing to give me as long as he can support it with documentation and research.
  4. In a matter of fact, they did. But you had to understand french as the hint had been given during an interview with Gilles Raulet, Thrustmaster Development Director, for a french website. The word out there is to not hold your breath until 2020.
  5. Please, stop with this "It's Alpha code". The vast majority of the player base is perfectly aware that we're playing a game being built piece by piece. This does not mean we have to accept the current development policy without highlighting our concerns and actual problems. The main problem is that there is no significant progress in the base game. How many planes can you actually buy without the beta label ? I'm afraid not much ; you're going to stick with the FC3 planes for a very long time. The absolute priority should be to finalize the current planes and add them to the core game. I did not buy a single module as I'm waiting from them to leave beta status, I can assure you I'm more than ready to support ED or some of the 3rd parties further ; once they have done their homework. I'm really looking forward a RC of the 2.5 version of the game. Regarding VR, I really don't know at the moment if the lack of stability and performance is due to the game engine or time dedicated to its integration by ED. The fact is, others sims without VR at launch had made it available since and run as a charm. I'd be perfectly happy if ED would tell me tomorrow that their engine is not suitable for VR and requires too much work and ressources that they can not afford ; at least I'd be set.
  6. A few pages back, I mentioned a video made by a french website (Checksix) where the Thrustmaster Development Director speak about the upcoming stick ; a throttle should be available by 2020. A new "pro" rudder has been hinted at us by the website owner who has close relationship with TM.
  7. Have you realized this is the joystick they developped with Frontier Developments for their space sim Elite Dangerous and not the F/A-18 stick ?
  8. I actually bought a Warthog for 300,00€ (including taxes) last week on a famous online retailer. I could not resist to get it after having the TM Cougar … At the time, I didn't see any correlation with the F/A-18 announcement.
  9. I just watched an interview of Gilles Raulet, Thrustmaster Development Director, on the french website Checksix. Reading between the lines and with the hints given by the webmaster, Thrustmaster will offer a stick and a new "Pro" rudder, no throttle before 2020. This is a pretty good news if this is the case, I'll have plenty of time to save money for the throttle then.
  10. This is what I'm more concerned about.
  11. The Hololens developped by Microsoft is an AR headset, not the same technology as VR. While VR offers to immerse yourself in another environment, AR is aiming to bring virtual objects into our own world. The DevKit from Microsoft is available for several months now and you can find a lot of videos on Youtube. I think that VR is best suited for simulation. The only game I wish was compatible with Hololens today is Elite Dangerous - having my screen devoid of any information and only having my HUD and displays appearing when turning my head around would be fantastic.
  12. Never heard of that, this would be a great feature. However I must agree with btaft who gave the best solution yet IMO.
  13. An elegant solution could be to develop a VR headset with AR capability. With a press of a button on the side of the headset, we could switch from the VR to the AR and see "through" the headset while retaining some information on front of us (altitude, speed, threat, etc. ...). Of course it would required some serious work from ED to implement this kind of option in the game. As for now I do not see this possible as we barely have a VR experience optimized.
  14. Ressources updated. Thanks for the suggestions. I already bought three books from the list and I'm currently reading A Nightmare's Prayer from Major Franzak. I like it so far (I'm over half the book) as we can have a first hand account of aerial operations over a modern "battlefield". However, this book is more about how to endure this kind of war - COIN - than actual technical details of how to operate the Harrier in an hostile environment.

Are all these ships coming with or following the Harrier ? oO /drooling
  16. "Finally, on 23 March 1990 the first production aircraft rolled off the assembly line. But sadly, the last one followed only little more than two years later on 20 July 1992." Source: Home of M.A.T.S

Looks great ! Do we know which ship will support the Harrier operations ? I read in some thread that we'll see the Tarawa but I still don't know if the person was refering to the class or the LHA-1 specifically.
  18. Thank you for your inputs)) New additions are welcomed, the goal of this thread is to gather ressources that has been read by the community. It's pretty easy to shop around and pick some random books on the topic but I rather trust your opinion instead of buying "unrated" books.
  19. Hello folks, I'm looking for some material to read while the module is being crafted by Razbam. All sources are welcome as far as they are free to read/watch or purchased through retail. Perhaps this thread will inspire more people to get interested in this aircraft and know a lot more about it. 20. The answer is at the end of the video, the USAF bought several planes from the company for the Light Air Support program (I never heard of this one).
