  1. Yes? Disputes like this probably happen a LOT more frequently than any of us realise, and yet the world is still turning. The only difference here is that it didn’t stay behind closed doors. That alone probably makes things quite a bit more complicated. I for one still fly the F-15E, and I’m having a lot of fun with it - despite the obvious bugs that show up when you spend any time with that module. It’s a superb aircraft, probably my favourite among the more modern ones
  2. Not being able to turn off those huge blobs is quite annoying...
  3. The above screenshot is a teaser (taken from the F-4E release trailer) about what's to come when Heatblur's character customisation will be released. We don't have it yet, but we will have it at some point since it's one of the features of the F-4E. I for one am going to make use of it (I know I said earlier in this thread I don't really care that much, but I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth )
  4. I have no idea about real aircraft (I am just an armchair geek), but pitching down to remain level after rolling out after heavy manoeuvring is pretty common in DCS. Off the top of my head, the F-14 requires it, the F-15E too... Those are aircraft I did canyon runs with recently and in that scenario it's pretty obvious. There are probably more examples
  5. What Heatblur is doing is pretty awesome. We'll see if that sets a trend:
  6. That’s what I thought as well: that ED removed the Vinson and just kept the (updated) Stennis as the free carrier
  7. Could it be possible even a clean MiG-21 would act as if it was carrying a jamming pod? We know an AI MiG-21 can spam flares even when it’s not carrying a countermeasure pod… AI F-5s also often throw out millions of flares even though it can carry a maximum of 15…
  8. Seems like you got your wish, then
  9. Yes: look on page 2 of this thread for example.
  10. A new version of the Caucasus map would likely use a (much) higher resolution terrain mesh, which would by definition break all user-created campaigns and missions in that map that use custom placement/movement of ground objects. The update ED did for DCS 2.5 was likely the extent of what was possible in that regard. It is still one of my favourites areas to fly over and I'd love to see an updated version of it (that looks more true to life than our current version, especially the mountains and dried up river beds), but the amount of work it would take is something most people underestimate I think. We're better off using custom terrain textures such as Barthek's.
  11. I tried again a few times, decided to log into my google account and then for some reason it worked. Cheers!
  12. Hey, was this taken offline?
  13. Well, there's zero-point energy but we're not quite there yet (at least in the public domain) /offtopic
  14. None of the DCS maps looks gorgeous at 200ft. That will only be fixed by someone developing a (much) smaller map specifically for helicopter operations. I have been very critical of the SA map for a long time, but now I am very happy with how it looks - and performs.
  15. It has been discussed ad nauseum already, and it comes down to how much understanding people have of the English language. But I do agree it could have been worded better That trailer isn’t saying the MiG-29 is coming in 2024. What it does say, is twofold: - coming in 2024: Iraq - joining RedFor: MiG-29 When it comes to the latter, there is no defined time included in the announcement.
  16. Yes so am I, but I still have hope for the future given what happened to the South Atlantic map: that one looks gorgeous now
  17. Superb effort, thanks a lot!
  18. The Rhino software is brilliant and am still discovering new things that improve quality of life I have no idea how the FFBeast software works, but it should only be allowed to overwrite effects for modules that don't support FFB natively (the Hornet for example: I find the default stick forces far too stiff for comfort so I set the Rhino software to reduce the spring forces by 50%). Like MAXsenna said you need the telemetry from DCS so the FFB software knows what to do with it. Something to remember is that DCS generally has an issue with axis inversion. People who have been around for a while know that lots of us need to invert throttles and toe brakes especially or they won't work as you'd expect. Sometimes pitch/roll needs to be inverted as well (VPForce already knows that so does it for you).
  19. Victory said the F-4E both IRL and in DCS is a fingertip aircraft.
  20. It is a great module as-is, and I personally wouldn't mind if the current WIP-items were removed if the situation doesn't get resolved: I don't need JDAMs for example so am completely fine with "just" dumb bombs and LGBs: then we can have a complete '90s version of the aircraft.
  21. A real-life pilot has a much better grasp on what the aircraft is doing (and often about to do), because they can 'feel' the aircraft and thus react (proactively) a lot quicker than us armchair pilots - since we have to wait until we 'see' the effect. But even we can learn to anticipate certain behaviours given enough virtual flight hours and muscle memory
  22. INS drift? Isn't there an options somewhere that lets you simulate how long you've been in the air already when you spawn in, and thus the accumulated INS drift up until that point? I don't usually air spawn so I don't know for sure
  23. What are you using? The Mirage works just fine with my Rhino: in fact I lowered the minimum forces again in the special options after the update. It is sensitive yes but perfectly flyable with precision
  24. That’s pretty much what it is called in the Group Policies editor as well. I don’t see why this registry edit wouldn’t work
