  1. Thanks for this very impressive change log! Do you know when we can expect a fix for the TCS, though? I know of the workaround but a proper fix would be great
  2. Then I misunderstood. Apologies I uninstalled OpenXR Toolkit as well but ran into the same problems I had earlier once DCS switched to OpenXR. And yes this quad view is incredible. It gave me the headroom to enable TAA (which has much improved since it launched) and still have performance to spare
  3. I disabled the launcher as well. It adds some QoL functionality in a few edge cases, but otherwise is not really needed.
  4. Excellent choice for the official campaign, thank you!
  5. New higher resolution textures, not new cockpits. The FC3 cockpits still have the same incorrect geometry in VR - same as the older full-fidelity modules. Feel free to read the past few pages of this thread.
  6. Holy cow thanks for bringing that up: I didn't even know about that. I just installed it, and it improved my framerate so much I am actually CPU-bound now at times in light missions!
  7. Hmm OpenXR toolkit no longer being supported is a bit of an issue for me, since without it I get flickering in my right eye and pretty horrible screen tearing. As for this patch, yes except for the FC3 authentication problem I had to rebind my throttles in several modules, and my rudder pedals suddenly stopped working... Luckily I got it fixed again...
  8. Yes I have the same problem: FC3 disabled on startup. Then once on the main menu-ingame I get prompted to install FC3, after which DCS restarts and notices I have it installed already, which triggers the authentication issue once again... 272GB on my end
  9. While I haven't had the chance yet to check in-game (my PC spent the last hour and a half downloading the 272GB patch + map), I was pleasantly surprised reading this. Thank you indeed!
  10. Yes and that’s exactly the reason I always stick to Pro models of Windows: even though I am a “Home” user, I do actually use some/many of the added functionality that the Pro version adds. That being said, there might be a registry tweak that still works on Home versions.
  11. It is yes. Personally I blocked windows update from even installing 24H2 using the Group Policies editor. I don't feel the need to replace my G2 yet, so I want to keep using it.
  12. This is an excellent way to look at it!
  13. Hello, you might want to try the Russian forum here instead: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/133-dcs-fa-18c-hornet/ You'll probably have more success there. That being said, I don't think the ME supports multiple routes.
  14. To be fair, he said it wouldn't release on the 26th. Since the patch is delayed, there is nothing that indicates it won't be included when it does release. Of course it all depends on how testing goes, and how much work was left for the closed beta team. We'll have to wait and see...
  15. That is brilliant, thank you! I attempted a lock with CAGE mode (not CAA) as soon as I saw the target-dot through the windscreen (not on the DSCG-display; improved spotting was enabled in that example to facilitate this) since there is indeed not a lot of time to react. I'm looking forward to more Jester improvements since this module is fantastic!
  16. DCS AI can be quite wonky. I don’t think it’s the F-4 AI specifically… I’ve seen the exact same thing you describe as well. To give an example of how silly the AI can be: I once had a wingman A-10C AI come fly directly above me during take-off, right after rotation. The result was that DCS “credited” me with a blue-on-blue A/A kill, while it was actually the other way around

  18. Does it even matter at this point? Not to be rude, but the first video was released half a year too late: everyone who regularly visits the forum already knew the answers.
  19. Will the new date be announced here on your official forum as well, or only on social media?
  20. Fair enough. I have, though: bandits at 10nm+ are easier to spot than when they are right outside your window. And as Dawger said earlier, at some point they completely disappear even against a clear blue sky.
  21. I have: a MiG-21 for example with non-existing rearward visibility starts flaring immediately once I move the nose of my aircraft within say 20 degrees of his tail, and this from the 6 o’clock low position at that, stops when the angle-off grows and starts again once it shrinks
  22. The problem is - for the SP crowd at least - that the AI is omniscient and thus can see and know things that no human in that situation ever could. A little help with spotting evens the playing field a bit.
  23. Well of course '80s tech is less advanced than '90s tech. Both our AN/APG-68V5 and APG-73 are from the early '90s. I actually think it's great that we get an older version than what may or may not be available on more recent MiGs.
