  1. Personally I lower the gamma by 5 stops when I fly ED modules during the day. At night I have to raise it again. With RAZBAM modules there’s no need to do that. That being said, this is the wrong section of the forum to post this. Have a look here instead:
  2. We used to be able to (once every 6 months I believe) but for some reason I can't seem to find that option any more Customer support section of the forum is here, by the way: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/16-customer-support/
  3. Depends on what you call 'fly realistically' I suppose: one can argue if you use "time it takes to find and manipulate said switch" as metric, binding stuff to your HOTAS is more 'realistic' than clicking stuff with your mouse - especially in VR where you first have to figure out where your mouse pointer is. Reaching for a knob/switch with your left hand IRL would be a lot faster and more convenient than us sim-pilots first letting go of the stick, then with your *right* hand find the mouse, figure out where the mouse pointer is at, and then click the knob/switch with the mouse, then reaching for the stick again...
  4. Certain modules can already do that, but it would indeed be great if this was incorporated into the DCS core
  5. Yes: the AI versions of full-fidelity modules are part of the DCS core.
  6. The loadout that's considered to be standard for A/A sports a centreline fuel tank (instead of the wing tanks) so that leaves no room for an ECM pod. For purely A/G missions where you take 2 wing tanks, it's probably a good idea to take an ECM pod but that would also depend on the expected threat level. IRL the last 20 years or so have seen operations in very low-threat environments so I can't see any reason why you'd use one - as there's simply no need.
  7. Ah yes, I see it now - thanks. Let's hope this mess gets resolved with minimal further damage...
  8. I see no such thing. So either it's been turned into a "private video", or else it's been removed altogether.
  9. Well, one can argue there is no “C” without the back-end: support, CSAR, transport of ammo and other logistics, … There are a lot of people including myself who are VERY interested in more support-related tasks, and in the end it should integrate well with the upcoming dynamic campaign as well. For short: more action-oriented people should be happy there are others who take care of logistics, and the people who enjoy logistics can be happy they don’t have to be constantly in the thick of the action Win-win!
  10. I doubt it: they always said it will be a part of the DCS core and I haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise. It would be quite silly to offer it as a paid module when the DCE is meant to attract new people into the sim
  11. The point of that is to set home base as far away as possible so you don’t get the annoying deedle-deedle every few seconds. 59 is used by the system as Bullseye by default so 58 is as high as you can set it. You probably won’t ever have 58 waypoints in a flightplan so there’s no risk of interference.
  12. ED have stated from the start they want to do something different, more unique to DCS - and as far as I understand also more in-depth, which is why it's taking this long.
  13. Apparently that is correct IRL, but as far as DCS is concerned it can be considered a bug. I do hope however that at some point we get a more realistic interpretation of RWR/electronic warfare in DCS...
  14. I've been able to prevent/fix problems by running programmes in admin mode. Here on the forum I've seen posts from people recommending both normal and admin-mode. So I'd say try either but then if you run into (weird) problems, try the other as first step in your troubleshooting process. *edit* After reading the thread linked above, it's probably best to try non-admin first: Flappie comes across as someone who knows what he's talking about. I have been running DCS for years as admin and I just turned it off.
  15. The sad part is that the SA map being heaven for helo ops was actually a big part of the sales pitch, and one of the reasons I decided to buy it... Oh well, lesson learned I suppose.
  16. Yes the “home fuel” caution - even when taking off fully fuelled - got so annoying I always set HOME waypoint to 58 as part of my startup procedure, before I even start taxiing…
  17. You can read about people’s observations on the new FM in the many existing threads about it. There’s no need to make a new one.
  18. Sure, here you go (track included). Looking back at the replay, can you see some movement to the right of centre? Sure but that's only when specifically looking for it, as I never noticed it (it took me a few moments to figure out how to use the control indicator even as I have never used it). To put it in perspective: it's about half the movement generated if I tap the top of the stick with the tip of my index finger. I don't see that as a problem... Again, I only saw that when replaying the track as I never noticed it while actually flying. Also, look at any flight instructor video where the instructor asks the student to pull the nose up and he repeatedly comments "to keep the wings level". Now you please show me where in the Thrustmaster/Virpil software there is the option for RCA (roll control assistance). I don't use a Thrustmaster stick, but I do use Virpil and I haven't seen it. This is from the ReamSimulator software: null F16 track.trk
  19. Yes it is. It takes a while and some back-and-forth experimentation but once it’s set up correctly it’s a brilliant piece of kit. I’d recommend the adapter yes if you can’t get hold of a Realsimulator grip. It simply makes it more ergonomic. If you end up with one feel free to drop me PM here on the forum and I’ll send you a screenshot of my settings so you can have a solid base to start from - everyone has their own preferences primarily as to how much force is needed for full “deflection”. The software explains all the settings very well and there are YT guides as well.
  20. This is as good a place as any to ask that question I bought both the grip and base. I have an older version though, that doesn’t deflect at all. The current version of the R3L allows for the same 1/4” deflection the real F-16 stick does.
  21. Sorry if I wasn’t clear but that’s not what I meant. There is an option in the Realsimulator software that emulates behaviour that is coded in the real F-16 flight control software. As in: it was specifically designed for it and it’s actually what I was referring to in my first reply in this thread. If those 3 alternatives were not specifically coded to emulate that behaviour as well, that would explain the uncommanded roll you are talking about. I don’t think you can blame those 3 manufacturers for that though: consumer hardware is generally designed to be as compatible as possible and to work the same way regardless of the aircraft you’re virtually flying. But with the FSSB R3L that’s different. Sure there are options that make it more customisable (you can use the index finger switch as a hat for example while the real F-16 doesn’t work that way) but you can disable that feature if you want to use it as a real F-16 stick. That is the point I am making: the FSSB R3L both on a hardware and software level is specifically designed to mimic the real F-16 stick and how it works in the actual aircraft.
  22. It is no secret that ED used R3Ls when developing the F-16’s FM. Wags has one, and he used it in his YT tutorials. Software too possibly: either configuration differences between Realsimulator and Winwing or programming behind the scenes.
