  1. Few things beat the feeling of lining up behind a carrier for the first time in ages in an F-14, with a brand new and improved setup and finishing with an (OK)_SLOX_3 (silly LSO)
  2. My Rhino arrived earlier today, and I have been playing around with it all afternoon. O H M Y W O R D !!!! I'm in love!
  3. Yes the base already has a “built-in” extension, and combined with say a CM2 grip it may not be needed. I ordered a 11 degree throw limiter nonetheless so I can test including my extension and see what works best.
  4. TAA has been there for as long as DLAA/DLSS/FSR have been.
  5. Are you using an extension?
  6. Yes: 8GB RAM is far below the recommended specifications for DCS.
  7. Great to hear! Mine just shipped, and I can't wait to install it into my pit!
  8. We will likely all have different techniques for refuelling, but I find Jester to be a huge help and I also do use the PDL lights. As always though, the key is being smooth, making small/tiny corrections and above all - patience. Just yesterday I made a mess of a dogfight with a MiG-21 so it took me ages to finally kill him, and almost all of my fuel. By the time I reached the tanker and hooked up I had less than 300 lbs of fuel remaining (yes that's not a typo). I connected and stayed connected until I had full fuel (12.000 lbs or whatever it is - I forgot the exact number), even through turns. I also noticed the change in engine spool times but I found them having no effects at all in how I do my aerial refuelling. The Phantom still is - I find - the easiest aircraft to refuel in DCS, with the F-14 as close second.
  9. Are you using a headset for cockpit sounds? I’m using speakers for aircraft sound and the small headset speakers of my G2 for communication and cockpit warnings etc, such as RWR sounds. It works very well and I have zero problems understanding Jester - if anything, I find him a bit too loud compared to the other cockpit sounds
  10. That’s why settings such as “loud afterburner” are available
  11. I know perfectly well when my throttle is moved past its physical detent: no need for audible reheat in the cockpit I have asked myself earlier for the audio to be linked to the DCS sliders, so people who do want those sounds can have them. Everybody wins!
  12. This update completely transforms the map: it is a massive improvement. Thank you!
  13. I feel a lot (most) of the drama could have been prevented had ED worded the pre-release announcement like you just did Personally I feel like this new way of doing a map is actually preferable: add all major aspects (airfields etc) first and focus on details later. At higher altitude the map looks gorgeous, and the performance is very very good on my system. I can understand the helo-only crowd being upset, but in the end you can't make everyone happy at the same time and the fixed wing crowd is likely to be much larger. As long as the helo-crowd do indeed get their concerns addressed at some point down the line (especially since this map is famous for its RL helo operations), I think we can all be happy.
  14. If it becomes payware, perhaps there will be sufficient financial incentive to include CV60-61-62 as well A girl can dream
  15. Thanks @Cab, I apparently missed that.
  16. I was surprised I couldn't find a dedicated Launcher.exe What if I want to re-enable it later? In some edge cases, it can be useful indeed
  17. Others in my old squadrons did, even back in the 1.5 days. Apparently not.
  18. I’ve seen false targets appear even with the radar in Quiet/Silent
  19. The FC3 aircraft are available individually now for me, though my Module Manager still doesn't understand what's going on and prompts me to install FC3. But when I do, DCS restarts and except for "checking files" nothing happens...
  20. Indeed: I stand corrected. Now that the FC3 authentication issues seem to be resolved (mostly anyway, my Module Manager is still confused) I was able to take a look and it seems that this patch finally rectified that! It was something that's been bugging me these past few years and I never got an answer when I asked ED about it. In any case, case closed it seems!
  21. Thanks for this very impressive change log! Do you know when we can expect a fix for the TCS, though? I know of the workaround but a proper fix would be great
  22. Then I misunderstood. Apologies I uninstalled OpenXR Toolkit as well but ran into the same problems I had earlier once DCS switched to OpenXR. And yes this quad view is incredible. It gave me the headroom to enable TAA (which has much improved since it launched) and still have performance to spare
