So on just a quick look at what is available on Amazon, I noticed several controllers from MS and I have no idea what is their (and maybe others) differences. Below is just a sample of what I found. I have never used an Xbox controller, but now with the Apache, it seems to be recommended. I took a look on Amazon and realized that there appears to be a number of Xbox controller knock-offs plus the ones from Microsoft. So I am looking for some actual user experiences and recommendations with the Xbox controller in order to decide what to buy for the Apache. The prices are all over the place from $20 to $150 and from battery to plugin USB.

I don't have the the TID issue, but the canopy reflections are driving me crazy and I cannot seem to find a mod to get rid of them.

In other aircraft, I can use the mouse to move around in the F2 view to expand or narrow and also to change the view of the aircraft. I cannot seem to do so in the F14. Is this normal or did I screw up somewhere?

My solution, although not the greatest, is to use Viacom without the F14 addition, but also use Bailey's F14 voice attack profile. I get most of the benefits of Viacom and with Bailey's profile, I get the Jester wheel that I can use either by voice command or by the middle mouse button.

It is very hard to see out of the side of the canopy. Is their a mod to fix this?

I am a little confused about waypoint inclusion in missions in SP and MP. I have watched YT videos and I think the below is correct. Please comment or confirm. In SP, I go to the Mission Editor and place up to 3 WPs and then the special F18 tactical points using the Navigation Target Points icon in the waypoint section to place an IP, FP, etc. The key point is that all of these points are AUTOMATICALLY added to Jester so you do not have to import them. Just tell Jester where to go. However, in MP, it appears that there is a different method. You have to mark the 3 regular waypoints (?) and the special F18 F14 points using the marker tool, then have Jester enter them in his system and finally, have Jester assign them to what you what to call them. A three step process. Is the above the correct procedure?

Opening screen now displays on both display 1 and display 2 instead of just screen 1 having the opening credits and screen 2 black. Normally, I use Helios so my default monitor resolution is 3840x1080 as I have two 1920x1080 screens. Usually, the first screen contains the opening info on DCS and the second screen is black. Now, after the open beta update, I get the opening credits spread across both screens. See attached. The attached picture shows the opening credits across screens 1 and 2. How do I get back to having the opening credits just on screen one? BTW, my Helios profile has the following entry in its monitor config file: Viewports = { Center = { x = 0, y = 0, width = 1920, height = 1080, aspect = 1.77777777777778, dx = 0, dy = 0 } } UIMainView = Viewports.Center GU_MAIN_VIEWPORT = Viewports.Center In the options.lua file, the height and width under the graphics heading are: ["height"] = 1080, ["width"] = 1920 and the ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "1camera", which should have been fine. I did a repair with no change.

Problem solved. However, in order to maintain my dignity, I will not be revealing my very stupid error.

When I click OK and then go back to the main screen and then go back to the special screen, all my choices are unchecked so it happens even before i enter a mission.

Just double checked and I did press OK and it still did not keep my choices.

In the special menu, I have checked several items including setting the shaking to 0 and choosing a custom cockpit and nothing is retained. Is this a known problem or just my issue? Just getting into the M-21. Is there any discussion as to what some of the choices mean?

bradmick I have been looking at your alternative Warthog key system and have two questions. Could you please clarify what the different colors stand for. Also, could you please explain Mode1, Mode 2 and especially "both". I have a spare joystick that I might you as a second joystick for the Tedac. This is going to be fun figuring all this out. Do you think that you will be able to operate the pilot commands and the gunner commands with the same HOTAS, but with different key commands depending on which station you are at?

I think I solved the problem. A repair did nothing so I uninstalled and then reinstalled the module and that seemed to cause the issues to go away. Will fly more to make sure. Kingsnake: thanks for the startup checklist.

When I do a hot start, I cannot seem to get the autopilot lights to go green until I am in the air. Is that normal? I also have the game freeze a lot on me when I use active pause. Is that normal? Finally, sometimes the trimmer button will not stay where I have trimmed the helo. I have the TM WH and set the axis' to the default except for the rudder which I have a deadzone of 1. Is that just me? I just did a repair to make sure the game files are not corrupted.

Perhaps you misunderstood me. The list of missions in the quick mission folder is from the game folder using windows explorer. But when I go into the game I do not see the Hind listed under the missions tab so the quick missions do not appear. My home made missions are listed under "my missions".

I have a list of missions for the Hind in Mods>aircraft>Mi-24P>missions>quickstart, but when I go into the game, under the missions tab, there are no missions listed for the Hind. Why?

I looked at his changes but did not see an axis command for the map up/down and left/right. I did see these commands for a button so I assigned them to some buttons I have on my WH Cougar.

I was finally able to get the map on my second screen. I also was able, using Helios, to put the airspeed and radar altimeter numbers on the top screen and the gauges on the bottom screen (although the gauges are Blackshark gauges). The numbers are close to the game numbers so I have to do some refining. I still have been unable to get the tv on the second screen. Attached is my init file for the TV. Raptor9 That was just what I needed. I made a little checklist and added at the beginning to change the lat/long to decimal. At the end, do I have to click the "activate" button? I notice in the waypoints made in the mission editor, the MVR was 0.
