  1. Mini Update today Has anyone else just had a mini update? My DCS just updated (approx 8mb so very small) I came straight here to see what changed and there is nothing posted about it! Definately a game update rather than updater update as a coulpe of mods I run needed to be reinserted back in. Curious!! Regards, Gary
  2. Foss. Thanks, appreciate you are trying to help me here. But my original question in the OP was related to obtaining certain views with a "single" key press. (i.e. instant) I understood Texac's reply as my subsequent question about multi input mapping directly in DCS controls section might have highlighted? Regards, Gary
  3. Thanks Texac. I'm not keen on using the target software as I prefer to do all my bindings directly in DCS. So, another quickie if I may? Am I right that you can't bind multiple key presses in DCS presently? (i.e a single button bind for F10+F2) Appreciate something like voiceattack will do the job - I'll have a play with that  Regards, Gary
  4. Hi, I'm not sure if this is already possible or not? Is there any way to configure views so that with a single keypress you can instantly view either your wingmen or other flight members only? (so you don't have to cycle through all other planes) If so, great. I'd really appreciate the answer. If not, please feel free to move this post to the "wishlist" thread. Regards, Gary
  5. ATC, ATC, ATC - a biggy (if not the biggest in my view) for SP immersion. Regards, Gary
  6. If you could whizz both over to me please I'll help "market it" too. Regards, Gary
  7. I don't believe I'm being "precious" at all actually. What I think I done was to express an opinion and personal point of view. Whether or not I've ever looked through perspex or not, is irrelevant too. My original post acknowledged that it may indeed be realistic but, let's be honest here, my reality is that I'm using the software for entertainment purposes, with less than perfect eyesight on a monitor and options to remove stuff that I don't find "fun" but annoying when trying to spot stuff (which is hard anyway!) is always useful i'd say. Regards, Gary
  8. My canopy looks as scratched in both versions now. I know peolpe love the realism but I hate it and I'm happy to pretend mines just been replaced if anyone has a solution to remove it? Night time is worse but for those who have trouble spotting anyway it just compounds the problem. Regards, Gary
  9. Thanks for the suggestion - no joy though unfortunately. Before I carry on trying - is anyone able to confirm that exporting just the MFD data is possible? (rather than also showing the cockpit I mean) Regards, Gary
  10. Ok, I have my 3 monitors set up (by using the HSBMFD file option) and my additional screens are definately set up outside of my main window but they render the whole main screen until its just the DMT or MAV display (ie other displays are loaded over the cockpit as an example) My set up is a 1920x1080 main screen plus 2x 800x600 screens. I thought Razbam were working on removing the background from the MFD's being shown but reading through this thread I now think this may already possible and catered for? HSBMFD contents below: _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('HSBMFD1'); Description = '3 Screens and L-R MultiMFD' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 1080; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1.7; GUI= { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 1080; } }, LEFT_MFCD = { x = 0; y = 1080; width = 800; height = 600; }, RIGHT_MFCD = { x = 1120; y = 1080; width = 800; height = 600; }, } UIMainView = Viewports.Center LEFT_MFCD = Viewports.LEFT_MFCD RIGHT_MFCD = Viewports.RIGHT_MFCD Regards, Gary
  11. I can confirm for definate that it was my sound file (referenced in the log file) that was causing the problem. Moving it to a different directory on my hard drive solved the problem for me.
  12. Grimes, Thank you Sir - all fixed now and working fine. Jafa, Thank you for your kind offer. Ogg file working fine. I'm oblidged to you both. Regards, Gary
  13. Grimes, Thanks. I'm pretty sure it isnt the file as it works fine in 2.1.1 and in previous 1.5 missions. I've also converted it to .ogg. As mentioned the "open" file selection button does nothing so I'm confussed how the log file even "knows" which file I would be choosing anyway? Obviously if the file selection function worked I would try other files but I can't get to choose. Regards, Gary Testing.zip
  14. Thanks. Done and still no joy. Clean up did however remove a load of modded files for me. So all good. Thanks again. Gary
  15. I know how to run a repair but what's a clean up please? and how to do this?
  16. Thanks for the suggestions Bignewy. I already removed all my MODs and tried a repair without luck. Strange that 2.1.1 works without issues even with my MODs still active. No big deal really. My 1.5 beta install is probably several years old now so I'll completely delete and do a new installation when 2.5 hits the streets. Although if anyone else has any suggestions I'm happy to try these too in the meantime. Thanks again, Gary
  17. Anyone?
  18. Hi, I'm trying to add a sound file under triggers but the "open" file selection button does nothing. This is only happening in 1.5.8 - 2.1.1 works without issues. My log is attached. Tried repair but no luck with that. Regards, Gary dcs.zip
  19. Having caught up, I'm actually concerned that the discussion now seems to be leaning towards what time period is appropriate rather than the change itself. Irrespective of the practicalities of how to do a "call home" to validate or ability to overcome everyones specific "once in a lifetime scenario" circumstances my main concern remains the same. A change in terms and condtions of a sale - post contract. I'm not an "expert" in Consumer Law and even if technically it was lawful to introduce this change in some countries, to my mind its at least morally wrong. All that said and for what its worth, I'd live with something like 2 weeks if that was decided. Not sure anything less wouldnt almost certainly impact me adversely. Gary
  20. What does "with internet access right now" have to do with anything? I could well be sat in Starbucks or Costa!! right now.
  21. The only disadvantage I can see that would seriously infringe on a consumer's rights is the instance where a consumer plays DCS with absolutely no access to the internet. Are there cases such as this? Everyones circumstances and abilty to access the internet differs. Even over a relatively short period of time, say 1 month, I'd wager there will be a number of such cases yes.
  22. I'm not looking for a debate here really. But when I made my purchases it was on the basis that they were forever - nothing was ever said that my unlimited availability offline would expire at some point.
  23. ED has to protect their interests as well, and a healthy ED is better for us. I agree but also reserve the right to protect MY investments. Regards, Gary
  24. Rights of use is only one issue. My main point is that I purchased the Harrier, along with all my other modules with a clear understanding of the terms of purchase regarding the need for a connection. This has now changed. ED should honour that contract of sale. Obviously they are free to change those terms going forward, communicate them and then customers make their choices accordingly. I'm not here to slam ED - I get that they want to protect their investment from fraud and provide us with the best they can. I am however against losing the ability to use my purchases should I not have something that was never an ongoing requirement to have. I'm probably more techy than some because I actually don't have an internet connection. My access is via a tethered connection which is fine. But what if I can't continue to do this or even choose not to?
  25. This is NOT the basis of the contract of purchase I have with ED. Neither for the Harrier or any previous purchase I have made. I have never agreed, in any fashion, that my purchases were subject to anything other than an internet connection for the purposes of verification of said purchase, or multiplayer access. Now this might well be a better system for us users and ED but NOT at the expense of taking my access away to use a module in SP should I not (for any reason whatsoever) have a connection for more than x days. With the greatest respect, I paid for the use and reserve the right to choose If i do this dependant upon an internet connection or not. My choice. I urge ED to come up with a solution for anyone to be able to use purchased modules offline - forever. Regards, Gary
