ED own BS2 and would be quiet within their rights to give keys to whomever they wished. I'm just suggesting they give consideration to those who have already paid for BS1 and then again for the upgrade....please.

You make my point for me well. Why the need for a 2gb download, install and then delete at all? Much cleaner to provide bs2 key and bin the need for bs1 anymore at all...Might be 5 min for you but took me the best part of an hour just for the download.... Gary

Please. ED clearly have details of those who have purchased BS1 and then upgraded to BS2. Rather than do the bs1 install and activate dance can I ask ED give consideration please to just giving us a new key that works with bs2 directly? Just a thought Regards, Gary

Maybe another method which might me easy to implement would be for all to be set to imortal? - If your hit it registers and you have to RTB? The difficult part is how you make someone comply I suppose but maybe a trigger of some kind that renders your aircraft unable to fire any weapons or similar could be done? Regards, Gary

Hi dburne, Viacom is basically a script / profile that is utilised by Voice Attack. You need know nothing about how voice attack works at all - just how to load a profile, set keys etc. The Viacom download includes all you need (except Voice attack programme itself) to get up and running. Happy to say I've noticed an improvement too. Now the mav screen only drops my fps down by about 10 - from mid 50's down to mid 40's I'm guessing this is to be expected?? Not related but just wanted to say - for us older guys who's eyes are not perhaps as good as they used to be the new enlarged model option is really great. Regards, Gary

Have you tried forcing full screen (Lalt+Enter) on the menu screen too?

Same here...was the same with my previous laptop too...but never presented me any problems...instead of keyboard \ being the comms menu (mine is reported as oem12 too) it was the # key instead...but worked the same. Regards, Gary

Cool video. Congrats on a really great mod...its a game changer for single player.

Completely clean install and nothing copied over at all. New config and logbook created. It happens irrespective of of detail settings. As mentioned above...it can drop from 90fps to 60fps with minimum details setting or from 40fps down to 20fps with high settings.

Been a little while since I've used 1.2.16 as 1.5 (beta) is available now. I'd urge you to switch. Fps are much better and its a completely new graphics engine. Doesnt mean you might not have any problems but its a much better platform to start with anyway. In 1.5 you can choose "preload" settings. For me at least these do affect stuttering. The more you can preload the lesss stutter...however, you more you preload the more fps you lose. Just got to find the sweet spot for your rig. (Can't remember if 1.2.16 had a similar setting or not?) Hope this helps.

FLIR Changing preload doesnt make any difference. Today I tried and minimised out all 3 sliders to the far left (clutter, trees, the rest) i.e. the least preload possible. It does of course give you more fps (but more stutter) but the FLIR issue is still present. Instead of dropping from 40 fps down to 20....it drops from 90 down to 70 - the same % drop basically. Seems to be across all sorts of rigs...some with 4 gig...most with 2 No common CPU...no common HOTAS...AMD & Nividia...all sorts of driver versions....its a proper mystery!! (Check Raptors posts...he's done a load of tests) Regards, Gary

Viacom My install is completely new. New PC and fresh install of 1.5 only on this machine. I did have both side by side like you on the previous machine but not on this new one.

Changing my preload distance didnt have any effect.

Missing lua's I've done the file path edit and running as admin on the latest version but I still get the errors on start up. No big deal for me really as the programme still works when im recognised, which is really not very often, but I'll persevere with that part. I love this mod!

I've added my rig details as requested. Only thing I haven't tried from the above list is a smaller preload...so I'm on that now :) Will let everyone know

No "DoF" here...I knew that was a killer a long time ago. And that would affect fps at all times surely...not just when the FLIR was activated. I'm no programmer but would seem logical to me that this issue would be related to the issues others have posted about regarding Shval?

Opps....just done a quick count to try and rebuke that comment and I've actually posted 11 times in here!! I will keep trying my end as suggested.

There are more posts in this FLR - FPS killer sub-thread than all the other performance sub threads combined. Hope something can be found to cure (or help) with this...

Just to clarify please? Are you saying nobody at ED, including yourself, sees any FPS drop at all when the FLIR is in use?

I've spent the evening reading the manual....If this works anywhere near half as well as the manual suggests its going to be a real game changer for those who don't already voice recognition of some sort or another!! For those that do - Id urge you to just have a look at the manual and range of options available...you never know....might suprise you!! Holywood...what can I say...looks amazing!!
