  1. The resetting behaviour when you touch your zoom control was also present pre 2.8 - in 2.7 it was a LUA file edit but still reset like it does now upon touching zoom control. No big deal though. Easy enough to get it back where it was. Question is - what is the correct FOV for each module so it replicates a real pilots perspective from each pit? - particulary the Harrier (asking for a friend!)

    Correct FOV

Ok - something that has puzzled me for a while and I suspect related to the copious discussions regarding spotting (not the only reason though) is setting the correct and acurate FOV in the cockpit view. I understand it might change subltly for each module but can anyone who knows for sure give me some idea of the correct FOV setting for the Harrier pit please? - I've watched a number of youtube videos but these quite often contain conflicting opinions. Surely there is a number (or very small range) that is definatively correct? Ultimately I want to set my FOV so that it matches very closely to that of a pilot who is actually sitting in his seat (in terms of visable guages) and the outside world being correctly sized as per real life. I will of course still use the zoom as needed but at least i know what the usual default should be for normal flight and transitions etc. Regards, Gary
  3. Ok - that's a real shame though. I was drawn to your content (Cerebus) because of the superb ATC implementation and additions. Much more immersive for me. Additions such as ATIS, seperate ground, tower, dep/app agencies is really what floats my boat - more so than actual weapons deployement. I will most definately still purchase the campaign because good content creators deserve to be supported. In addition your supporting documentation for the previous campaign was outstanding too! I fear by the time ED address the shocking ATC implementation (which actually really detracts from the overall product now in my view - who wants to be spamed by AWACS or No2 every 3 seceonds!) it will be my grandchildren who see the benefit rather than me. Kind Regards, Gary
  4. Great news. Hopefully 2.8 played nicely. Looking forward to this, my first campaign! One quick question. Watched the ATC intro yesterday and noticed how "tower" also managed the "ground" return to ramp instruction. Is that a normal procedure for FOB's - being relatively small? - so no need for dedicated ground controllers. Also can I assume ATIS will be present? Regards, Gary
  5. I've no interest in this topic personally but thought it worthy to mention how amazingly helpful and kind this community are at times! cfrag - It's honerable that you spent time and effort to help a fellow simmer. Regards, Gary
  6. Thank you for the speedy reply. I did assume the missions themselves wouldnt function properly but for me - just flying into the AO and doing something random and then flying back with your ATC implementation would be a whole lot better than what I have now with the default ATC and hugely enjoyable I'm sure. I wasnt being lazy btw - I would have tried myself already but not with the gaming PC atm.
  7. Well I have literally just bought this campaign "just" for the ATC implementation. Having watched a couple of videos online it looks really well done. Was hoping to be able to change out the F18 (which I do own) for the Harrier as that is my go to airframe. Quick question. If I load up mission one in the editor and change to the Harrier will the mission (ATC parts) function still? - it will be worth the asking price just to be able to use the ATC implementation (ATIS etc) even if the actual missions won't work properly. (the link to a free copy of mission one in user files is no longer valid) (I note your next campaign is for the Harrier! - bravo - happy to test any ATC functionality if you need someone to of course!) Regards, Gary
  8. For me, ATC, ATC and ATC upgrades...oh, and the dynamic campaign of course.
  9. Thanks all, Is this just PG map? I had the same issue but only on PG so far. Regards, Gary
  10. I can confirm Tobi does work with DCS although when I tried some time ago it was less than great. Your mileage may vary though of course. Regards, Gary
  11. I suspect like most who have posted in this thread, DCS is both our most enjoyable AND frustrating flight siming experience. Some of comments certainly resonate personally. I was once banned for 12 months on the forum because I had asked, a little too often where the planned ATC improvements were with the release of 1.2.5 in June 2013 - that is 8.5 years ago now. I accept it has been explained that its difficult - and I'm sure it is - but I fear at this rate I'll not be around to see them when they do come along.
  12. Just to add my thanks for taking this decision Razbam.
  13. Just checked. It is there under the USA collalition.
  14. With a simple edit you can use the mouse to view around the cockpit AND click the mouse on buttons switches at the same time thus avoiding the Alt+C need totally. The file is clickable_common.lua - just change the last entry from "false" to "true" Not sure if it is IC compatible though and not found a way of adding this to my saved games entry but it works fine. clickable_common.lua

    comms

Hmmm. I have to turn off my radio because of the continuous loop atc gets into “delta 123, clear to taxi. Delta 123 clear to taxi.” Sometimes all the way to the target and back. Well I have never heard taxi or take off clearence from ATC for other flights. Yes, you can get some allied flight feedback - "Springfield 1, airborne" and AAR chatter as described above - "pre-contact" etc and AWACS calling BRA details every 2 seconds but not ATC calls for other flights for taxi, take off, landing clearance or other standard calls? Easy Comms off and definately on the correct freq! Fact this has been moved to "wish list" suggests there are only a few examples where you do hear other flights!
  16. It would be better if ED could fix that option in the options tab. It is there but broken presently. Regards, Gary
  17. Biggin Hill is argueably the most iconic Engliush airfield of the WW2 period. Not sure how any south of England WW2 map could possibly omit it? Hopefully it will make it in for release (or at somepoint after) Regards, Gary
  18. Apologies, I was trying to be helpful not funny. I wasn't entirely sure if that is what you meant so I posted just in case. Regards, Gary
  19. Right Hand console (top of ECM panel) - turn the knob to off? - removes RWR from HUD.
  20. Although not appropriate - just out of curiousity I'd like to know: Can the deck crew statics be placed on land airfields? What happens if you use the Harrier on the CVN (assuming you have the SC module) - will the comms still work in some fashion? Gary
  21. Why are threads or topics related to anything to do with Comms / radio interaction or ATC tucked away in either the "wish list" thread or eleswhere obscure? The OP has nothing whatsoever to do with "bugs and Problems" Wouldn't it be a nice idea to perhaps create a new thread under 2.5 just labelled "Radio" for all things Comms related? Kind Regards, Gary
  22. Hermes is availabvle in the user files on the DCS website. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3308469/?sphrase_id=865873 Kind Regards, Gary
  23. If anyone out there wants a template which already includes functional ATIS and Random Air Traffic (which is limited to their own red or blue bases) please see attached. This is something I cobbled together from various existing Mods and Moose scripts. My thanks to the original creators of each of course. ATIS is available at 3 airports (freq details in the briefing) RAT consists of A400's in Iran & C130's and C-17's for blue. Kind Regards, Gary ATIS Persian Gulf Dubai.zip
  24. Final post of DCS World roadmap update thread - Kate Perederko: "[...]I have to admit that the release of the update last week didn't meet our expectations at all. We still have a lot of work to do with performance issues before we will be able to release it to the Stable branch. Please do not expect it to be released in April." I took her quote to be about the stable branch update timeline - not SC Gary
