First ever try at editing a lua file. Due to age and screen resolution I could certainly use this - however It won't let me edit the file. Is this an error my end or are they locked now? regards, Gary

With the release of 2.0 in the not too distant future it would seem to me that 1.5 bugs reported are not subject any updates. But these (or some depending on complexity) are addressed in the 2.0 release candidate instead. It's what I'd do if I were ED.

Thanks. I've been around computers a very long time and I'm well aware of my current hardware and its limitations. However, my reply was not specific necessarily in relation to my system - just an observation that discounting the validity of an observation from a laptop user was mis-guided. I've seen a number of posts from laptop users on here. Frankly, FLIR fps drops aside, my fps and in game performance is exceptionally good. I've not used the frame counter because frankly I haven't felt the need to. I was under the impression anything over 40ish frames is fluid - and mine certainly is very fluid. I turn a couple of things down (water on medium - tree shadows off - MSAA and AF both x4) and everything else is maxed. I've been using flight sims for the last 30 years...so I know how poor fps can kill the experience. Mine is very good with 1.5 Kind Regards, Gary

I would highly recommend the X55. Be mindful though that it needs a USB 3.0 port (or a powered USB hub) or you will get the ghosting issues.

Ok...I've no idea if other makes have the same issue but as I say there was a problem where the HD gfx driver was corrupting the dedicated GPU driver... Worth checking out maybe?

I wasn't sure where to post this?? I have both release and Beta versions installed. Although the only crash I have experienced was with a now known issue in the Hawk I thought i'd check my Users/DCSopenbeta/logs: and nothing there.... However, (and I'm not even sure why I looked) I checked my 1.2.6 install folders Users/DCS/logs: and there was a crash log created 03/10/2015 Not sure how that happened??...possibly user error this end but anyone else?? Just thought it worth mentioning / checking.. Sorry just to clarify...I've not even launched 1.2.6 since installing 1.5!! Regards, Gary

If your laptop is HP then its likely your drivers are the issue. There is a recognised issue where the Intel gfx driver borts the dedicated card one. Jump on the HP support site and you will find answers.

Good question... Is there a list of acknowledged bug / issues ED have recorded anywhere? It would be good if they did have as an easy reference before others post issues already logged.

I've lost count already of the ammount of times I've reached out to the screen to wipe away a small fleck of dust only to find it wasn't any such thing!! Just saying...lol..

That's true but imho there is nothing in 1.5 that is the same as it was before. The code might be the same and the effects the same but just being in the 1.5 environment makes them all feel somehow different. I think its just as much about perception and personal experience and not just a yes or no regarding new code. But of course factually you are correct.

Just download the LSO.miz file (its a mission file) into your DCS missions folder. Open up the mission editor in game and load the file. Hit fly and have a go. I'm not new to DCS but very new to this modding milarky...but its great fun..:thumbup: Gary

I have the same HD7670m card and don't get this in clouds at all or with explosions. I do get a massive drop with MAV screen displayed (FLIR) though. What driver version are you using with the HD7670?

I might be way off the mark here but is Raprt anything to do with AMD evolution?? I remember this app being a cause of BMS blue screens. Just a suggestion as it looks familiar?

With the greatest of respect my system might not be all bells and whistles and I appreciate I might need to turn some of the eye candy off but just because its a laptop doesnt mean the parts are not capable! It has an i5 CPU - not too shabby I'd suggest Yes its a HD7670m gfx card - but dx11 compliant. Hard drive is a little irrelevant Screen display irrelevant Just what part of it being a laptop means I shouldnt be using it? If I glued it to my desk to make it less portable should I expect better performance?? :( Windows 8.1 16gb Ram

On a simliar vein. I'm trying to get voice software working (without any luck so far) but had seen on the forum you can disable your own voice by renaming a couple of files. Worked in non beta by removing the voice but leaving the subtitles up. Tried it in the beta and it removed both pilot voice and subtitles? Just curious but it might help OP identify where all the ATC menu scripts are located?? Kind regards, Gary

Tried 512 and 256...no noticable gain. Soon as the FLIR is on screen my FPS really drop...makes FLIR unusable atm. Any suggestions? - pretty sure my GFX driver is latest...worth me trying an older version? Regards, Gary

Ah ok....I've only just mastered turning TGP on! - now you want me to switch modes too!!...lol.... Think its safe to say FLIR display is the issue...whether on MAV or TGP Assume if you have it both displays it compounds the problem? Hopefully not too diffucult to fix...:cry:
