  1. Hi, I'm trying to add a sound file under triggers but the "open" file selection button does nothing. This is only happening in 1.5.8 - 2.1.1 works without issues. My log is attached. Tried repair but no luck with that. Regards, Gary dcs.zip
  2. Having caught up, I'm actually concerned that the discussion now seems to be leaning towards what time period is appropriate rather than the change itself. Irrespective of the practicalities of how to do a "call home" to validate or ability to overcome everyones specific "once in a lifetime scenario" circumstances my main concern remains the same. A change in terms and condtions of a sale - post contract. I'm not an "expert" in Consumer Law and even if technically it was lawful to introduce this change in some countries, to my mind its at least morally wrong. All that said and for what its worth, I'd live with something like 2 weeks if that was decided. Not sure anything less wouldnt almost certainly impact me adversely. Gary
  3. What does "with internet access right now" have to do with anything? I could well be sat in Starbucks or Costa!! right now.
  4. The only disadvantage I can see that would seriously infringe on a consumer's rights is the instance where a consumer plays DCS with absolutely no access to the internet. Are there cases such as this? Everyones circumstances and abilty to access the internet differs. Even over a relatively short period of time, say 1 month, I'd wager there will be a number of such cases yes.
  5. I'm not looking for a debate here really. But when I made my purchases it was on the basis that they were forever - nothing was ever said that my unlimited availability offline would expire at some point.
  6. ED has to protect their interests as well, and a healthy ED is better for us. I agree but also reserve the right to protect MY investments. Regards, Gary
  7. Rights of use is only one issue. My main point is that I purchased the Harrier, along with all my other modules with a clear understanding of the terms of purchase regarding the need for a connection. This has now changed. ED should honour that contract of sale. Obviously they are free to change those terms going forward, communicate them and then customers make their choices accordingly. I'm not here to slam ED - I get that they want to protect their investment from fraud and provide us with the best they can. I am however against losing the ability to use my purchases should I not have something that was never an ongoing requirement to have. I'm probably more techy than some because I actually don't have an internet connection. My access is via a tethered connection which is fine. But what if I can't continue to do this or even choose not to?
  8. This is NOT the basis of the contract of purchase I have with ED. Neither for the Harrier or any previous purchase I have made. I have never agreed, in any fashion, that my purchases were subject to anything other than an internet connection for the purposes of verification of said purchase, or multiplayer access. Now this might well be a better system for us users and ED but NOT at the expense of taking my access away to use a module in SP should I not (for any reason whatsoever) have a connection for more than x days. With the greatest respect, I paid for the use and reserve the right to choose If i do this dependant upon an internet connection or not. My choice. I urge ED to come up with a solution for anyone to be able to use purchased modules offline - forever. Regards, Gary

    It's in already!! - 1.5.8
  10. I do the same as the OP. Long story but I dont have the facility to have a BB connection at my home so I use my mobile as a tethered hotspot and hence pay for any download over 25gb (at a high cost!!) So watching this thread with interest!! Regards, Gary
  11. They did - a while ago originally if memory serves me right. I seem to recall a NTTR pre release video from Wags that had to be redone because the ATC wasnt playing fair? Its been stated a number of times that the ATC needs work but you will be pushed to find any details of what might come or when I'm sorry to say. Regards, Gary
  12. Ok, So I have a number of RAT's now in my basic mission set up (mostly C130's and AJS37's) and it occurs to me that it would be really cool to explore the use of Moose for some suitable comms? My RAT's get clearance from ATC to land (text box upper right) and I wondered if there was a way to trigger a sound file when these come up? If not, I'm interested in any use of Moose that might improve the ATC? - calls wouldnt necessarily have to be 100% accurate in order to improve the sense others were "out there" IMHO Regards, Gary
  13. FC, Thanks. I understand everything above right up to and including the fact that both Moose.lua and any other.lua are embedded. That now makes perfect sense. I did actually watch both Moose for dummies 0 & 1 vids last night but not knowing the lua's are embedded in the Miz made vid 1 confussing. Obviously I could see in the vid the part where you add the triggers and paths to the lua's but fundementaly not realising they were saved within the Miz was the missing part for me. Thanks again. I'm looking forward to giving all the other Moose options a try out now too! Regards, Gary
  14. Hi, This is something that has really sparked my interest. For the first time ever in DCS I might even get to design some basic missions for myself (rather than just downloading missions others have done) In order to do so however, I need to understand some very basics please. Now this may be the dumbest question you will ever have seen but: I downloaded the example mission 11 (carrier) and it works fine. What I don't quiet understand is that the Miz triggers call on two lua files. First the Moose.lua (which is on a seperate drive nowhere near my DCS installation) and the second RAT_011.lua which isnt even on my PC full stop? In which case how is the Miz working just fine?? Regards, Gary
  15. Could you link to the updated version please? Regards, Gary
  16. Ah - thanks. Got it now.
  17. So what if it wasn't rendered?...better performance? Or if it has to be, would a lower res help at all?
  18. Quick Q, Not seen this answered eleswhere?? Whilst in VR DCS also displays on my monitor, which uses CPU & GPU performance. Is there anyway to cease the monitor display to increase FPS? - if not, would selecting the lowest possible screen res provide a FPS booost for VR? Kind Regards, Gary
  19. Updated Sig only.
  20. Bromley area. If you are close to me anytime soon you would be very welcome to give it a go. 1.5 & 2.1.1 loaded and working. Regards, Gary
  21. T16000 stick supports left hand use. I'm yet to see a throttle that does though.
  22. Why has this thread been moved to "wishlists"? This isn't a feature request. It's a request for more information on confirmed development. Moving this here just means it's hidden away and less people see it. Anyway.....any chance the team could provide any details? Regards, Gary
  23. Sorry - not sure I understand what you are saying? You mean you don't know what aspect can be improved? What makes you think there will be details in the next newsletter? - I do hope so, that would be great.
  24. Hi, I was wondering if there are any details available of ATC improvements being worked towards? I understand "everything is subject to change" and I'm not asking for release predictions or alike. This is a part of the simulation experience that is generally seen as a weak area of the whole experience and some details of the functionallity ED are striving for would be much appreciated. ATC improvements have been quoted a few times - I'm really asking for for a little more detail though please. Regards, Gary
