Quick question please? I have both the current beta and release versions. Is there anyway to leave my current beta install as is (it has my mods etc and is my current version of choice to use) and have 1.5 update my existing release install instead? Hi, I've got the bug bad again and after my new x55, Tir5 I have decided a new laptop is needed.. Question is: Can you use DCS via a touchscreen? - I mean can you press buttons on screen rather than use the mouse? Either native or via a mod? Regards, Gary

Hi, I would like to try v2 please. Does it have an updated manual? I'm a little green with this sort of thing although I have downloaded VA today and started trying it. V1.1 works fine outside DCS (aside from mis reads which I can train of course) but I've not managed to get it working in DCS properly yet (user error I'm sure) It seems to work (comms menus come up) but no reply?? I'm sure i'm on the right freq etc (created a simple TE on runway) but no reply as of yet. I real idiots guide to setting this thing up would be great (as an example the original manual says its easy to change PPT but not obvious to me in VA settings page!) Whilst I am waiting for the A7 I decided to give the F18 a go. Downloaded and installed fine but has Su25 cockpit.... I really don't want that... I'm also using the new Bush carrier and LSO mission download and i'd much prefer the cockpit this used?? (download taken down??) Failing that - how do i use the A10a pit instead of the Su25 please?? Perhaps not everyone gets the chance to read through all the forum pages or view the videos? Maybe the OP could be updated to list the blocking items? - just a thought.

ATC I've read the OP and searched here for the answer but didnt find it. Although I have seen mention of a revamp of the ATC it is not listed in the DCSW 2.0 or subsequent 1.5 list of features. Can anyone confirm if there is in fact a revamp being worked on and if so, which version it might be included in? (I use the word might as everything is subject to change of course..:)) Regards, Gary

I have no idea frankly - never used steam. If you know the answer perhaps post it here to save some trying it out and running the risk of screwing their good 1.2.5 install? Regards, Gary

As was originally stated...most testers have multiple installs. Unless it does mess with your current 1.2.5 install to fall back on (which seems highly unlikely) everyone should be ok surely? Just stick to 1.2.5 for MP unless of course you are testing 1.2.6 Seems pretty straightforward to me... Regards, Gary

Now complaining the beta broke our installs would be wrong, of course. Complaining about pulled downloads would be justified I would say. Not unreasonable to think that a download link making something available was actually available! - not sure how you manage pulling it if it was a mistake though...other than just pulling it. Dont effect me personally either way. Dont use steam and never have. I always buy direct from DCS website. All the above said - if it was made available to me then yes I would download - and quickly!... Regards,

Totally agree. But there are those on here - myself included - who are happy to take the risk because we are always looking for something new in our sims... I remember very well doing the Russian dance in order to get BS1 when it was first released in Russia before here. I applaud you for warning of the risks but that is all you should say in my view until certain - just my view. I also agree however that Friday would have been a good time to announce but given the lack of comment on some items you just never know for sure. Let people play with the beta I say - providing they know the risks can only be good surely?? Kind Regards, Gary

With respect to yourself and other mods here by your own admittance you dont know if this is a legit beta or not. All i read is "assume" and "if this was unintentional" I agree lets establish the facts but please dont knock some for trying it out if its available to them... regards, Gary

Nate, Thanks for the reply. I do understand that everything is subject to change - just would have hoped for someone to actually say if the ATC improvements had slipped as a priority. Whats the point of weekly updates if news some want never gets mentioned again after being announced? Not a moan really - just everyone has different parts of the sim the want updated be that more modules - graphic engines or whatever and expecting to be kept updated with announced improvements that get pulled seems reasonable me. Joey, Tend to agree....Such a shame really. I can't think of any other part of the simulation that hasn't been improved since release and yet everyone says its a weak area of the software. Might not be much of an issue for some - but things like new weapon models are of no great interest to me...

No mention of the pulled ATC improvements! Please don't tell me we have to wait for 1.2.6 for it??
